The issue is the absolutely over the top ridiculous prices. We can say inflation all we want but crunchy shell ground beef tacos are not worth 3.99 under any circumstances. I just picked up ground beef from Safeway at 2.49 a pound on sale, and they can do far better with the amount they buy. 10.25 for my red super? C'mon now guys. The taquerias are between 11-14 and that's for a legit Mexican burrito. The STD at 10.99 is a disgrace, it's a double decker taco. Owners, do yourselves a favor and get these prices reasonable for people. If the rent is too much, move! People will follow. Taco Bravo never fails us. After an evening of indulgence at our favorite wine bar, we decided to grab a few tacos for the drive home. Whether you come here often or once every blue moon, the quality and taste is always the same. Pure deliciousness. Of course, this could be due partly to the fact that the guy who made our tacos was rockin a full mullet. Either way it's a win. Tip: If you're a nacho fan, order your nachos with the chips on the side. This allows them to fill your container up with even more fixings and you have your chips in a bag. Several people were talking to the manager about them and how bad they are. She said that there were some change ups with Supplier and that she would look into it. Guys this is unacceptable, one night I go there around 2 in the morning. People were cleaning with detergent the counters while food containers where still in. The detergent was touching all the food. The place looked horribly dirty inside, I would've taken pictures but it was really gross. If you're a Taco Bell lover then you'll probably love Taco Bravo. I was on a lunch break nearby and decided to try this spot out since it always seemed to have a line. I like that the menu is simple(maybe a little too simple for some: just name of food item with no descriptions) and food ready within a minute or two of ordering. I haven't ordered anything but the Bravo Taco(crispy shell taco with all the fixings of ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and cheese) and/or Super Burrito(ground beef, beans, sour cream, cheese, and onions. Always ask for spicy but it really isn't here) which totals a little under $13! Everything here seems like it's jacked with a high mound of shredded cheese and the portions are just extreme! I can get full off of one taco or half of a burrito. I've seen the nachos here which looks like heartburn awaiting but amazing and might attempt to try it next time with company. Other than that this is just a Taco Bell(tastes just like it) but on steroids. Oh, and they serve this mysterious self serve batches of hot sauce which I think makes everything better here. Though their hot sauce isn't the fire from big papa chain Taco Bell, it's fuego and the perfect smoked taste of chipotle peppers and spice to keep you going. And this is coming from someone who doesn't like that smoked chipotle flavor but I can eat this sauce and enjoy it. So yeah. I found a place that is Taco Bell on steroids. You really can't call it Mexican food. I mean you could if you wanted, but you'd be lying. But you can call it filthlicious. There tends to be conversion vans, a-la 1970-1980's, where these people crawl back into with a large sack of cheap tacos. I was a bit excited to try this place. I love hole in the wall type of joints, especially Mexican restaurants. Because I know the food would be really good...just like how mother used to make it.................. This isn't your mom's homemade Mexican food joint... this is your "Taco Tuesday" night's at home where you buy packaging for your hard shell tacos and "taco seasoning". Don't get wrong I enjoy the occasional minimal effort taco nights, but it's not taco night at my house. The Good: They pile on the meat, cheese and lettuce...for the price, it's totally worth it. They have two options of proteins, ground beef or shredded chicken. The Bad: They pile on too much... I'm not complaining about the meat, I'm complaining about the load of cheese they toss on there (which i had to scrap off). If you love cheese you are in for a treat, I personally would like to be able to taste my chicken instead of having a mouth full of good ol american cheese. They ONLY have two options. I took my order to go and when I got to my office the bad was wet and my "hard" taco was now a "soft" shell taco. Seriously, I had to wipe my desk off because the chicken "juices" kept on dripping out of the wrapped taco. No descriptions on the menu, just "taco", "super taco" "combo" burrito... I had to ask multiple times what is on what...kind of annoying, also borderline uncomfortable as the staff almost has no personality. I didn't feel welcomed, I felt like I was burdening them by asking questions about their items that had no descriptions. It's a rundown little hole in the wall, but I love their food. It's "Taco Bell" style Mexican food, but Jesus it's good stuff. Non-snobby cheese lovers take note: I asked for extra cheese once on my tacos and enchirito. It costs like a quarter I think. The guy making it takes a handful of cheese and gloms it on top of each item. A handful. Literally a man's large cupped hand full of delightful cheese. All for me. The cheese-to-everything else ratio shifted so hard to the cheese side it was ludicrous. I can never go back to regular cheese now. That said, the sauce on the enchirito is weird - there's a translucent quality to it that I tend to scrape off. Other than that, it's awesome. As for their looks and cleanliness, I have a theory. To which I laughed and immediately added another dollar to the tip jar. Where the hell else are you gonna get service from people who are sneaking beers as they make your food?? All that means to me is extra cheese and meat, cause clearly his hands aren't gonna be as steady. So, yeah. If you're an out-of-towner and you come to Bravo and you're immediately grossed out or offended or whatever... keep it to your damn self.
