And we got a side of rice and beans. My wife ordered the vegetable fajita although the waiter told us ahead of time that the food was going to take a while as they were busy. It seemed like it came out in 5-8 minutes. It was fast. Chips and salsa are always good so those were fine. They gave us a couple of different salsa options which were good. For my food. The beef taco was really good. That was probably my favorite part of the meal. The burrito was chicken and was pretty good. Chalupa was not what I thought it was going to be basically it's a thin tortilla with a bunch of toppings piled on top of it that you just basically eat off of it with a fork. You can't pick it up and hold it as it's too heavy and the tortilla sits in sauce and other sides that then make it fall apart. My wife said her vegetable fajita was pretty good as well. The beans and rice were very average, not much flavor. Overall, the meal was decent nothing great nothing terrible just good. We may come back sometime as it is a nice place, the ambience is nice and the staff was great. But the food was nothing special aside from the beef taco that was delicious.

The chicken tacos were SO bland. I tried adding more lime, the grilled onions, radishes, both the red and green salsas, and even rice and beans but nothing could rescue the flat flavor of nothingness every time I bit into my tacos. My red salsa that came with my plate was genuinely lame, it had hints of Tabasco sauce? Like they were trying to make it so spicy without any actual depth or flavor. I expected more from this place. I did try my friends steak from his taco and it was a bit more flavorful, so perhaps I got the wrong meat. It was very good, but as I was eating, I remembered seeing fried ice cream on their menu. I asked if they had it & he said absolutely. So, I stopped eating my entree & took it (and the chips) home and had the fried ice cream. It was SOOO worth it. they really did lightly batter the ice cream and fry it. (Unlike many place that don't actually do that.) It was served in a slightly sweet, lightly cinnamoned tortilla and topped with some chocolate sauce, whipped cream and maraschino cherries. If I lived closer & it hadn't been so hot outside, I may have ordered another one to take home!

The street tacos I ordered on this trip were very well-made where they have generous portions of meat in both the steak Asada and the El Pastor taco meal I ordered. The taste was a tad on the bland side for me however where some salt and salsa were required to pick up the flavor profile which I am sure is a function of keeping it to a neutral flavor profile to appeal to the masses and letting people season it to their personal taste. The El Pastor in particular, which is a marinated pork taco, had more of a subtle flavor from the marinade that did not jump out at you versus some of the better ones I have had. Having said that, they were still good authentic Mexican street style tacos. Overall, this restaurant is a great option If you are looking for better made Mexican food and are in this area.
