Horribly rude staff. Just got to st Robert or they will ruin your day. Unnecessarily rude and go out of their way to be unhelpful.

Being born and raised in Los Angeles, I was expecting to never find a place with tacos as good as out west - especially in rural Missouri. Route 66 Taco & Wing was a huge pleasant surprise that I would recommend to everyone who enjoys tacos and burritos!

I joked as we passed Tacos and Wings on our way into Post and said "I bet that's simple but good." Ironically the clerk at the hotel recommended this exact place. It's a fun kind of vibe. Has old arcade games all around and good country music on the screens. Service is very good. Everyone is super friendly. Now for the food: Flavorful and different. This isn't really a Mexican place. They have crafted creative flavors in the form of tacos. I had the Crispy Chicken Bacon Avocado Taco where every bite had bacon in it. The chicken was nicely flavored and the avocado was fresh sliced and balanced the overall combination of flavors. I also couldn't resist the Bayou Gator Taco. It definitely brought back memories of all of my visits to Gatorland in Orlando. It not only had crunchy gator bites in it but also had shrimp and I was very impressed that they had properly deveined the shrimp. A little too much mayo for me, but overall good. The chips were seasoned with a little kick of maybe cayenne pepper and I loved the salsa bar. Definitely try the pineapple salsa. It was spicy like a salsa verde with just a touch of sweetness from the pineapple. I also liked the tomatillo salsa. The strawberry chipotle wings were recommended. Definitely a unique flavor. I'm a hot and spicy girl so I think I would have liked them a little better if they would have had a little more kick of heat. Excellent value. Couldn't believe how much food we got (4 tacos, 10 wings, queso, chips, and 2 drinks) for $40 including tip! Keep it simple and affordable and go to Tacos and Wings.

When I pulled up to the ordering menu, it seemed to be broken because it kept repeating, "Sorry, we are closed." It took about 10 minutes for a female employee to ask what I wanted to order. She had a hard time understanding English, and I had to repeat myself multiple times. After my order was placed, there was a long wait. Twenty-five minutes later, a lady opened the side window and, in the most unprofessional manner, said my order and reached out for my form of payment. I requested a receipt, but just like every other time, their machine was broken. The reason I requested a receipt was because the price always changes, and I always order the same items. One person gave me a military discount once; after that, another staff member stated there is no military discount or that the meal value has to be $30 or more for a military discount to be applied. This time, my order was $33, and I asked them to apply the military discount, but she said they don't offer a military discount. I noticed the receipt they couldn't produce was on the counter with a tip written on it. They are giving themselves unauthorized tips. When I returned home, my food was cold. The refried beans tasted like horse manure. I noticed there was a thick glob of spit in my refried beans. Please don't order or eat from Antonios Mexican Fresh. Look at their restaurant/food reports. Pro tip: please check their facebook page for updated hours, contact information, and menu of the day. I stopped by to place a carry out order. The team was so welcoming and friendly. That perfect sincere hospitality you don't see too much anymore. The space is absolutely adorable and comfortable. When my order was ready, I was handed a bag that easily weighed five pounds! I went with the blackberry fried chicken. This is like nothing I've ever had. The chicken was super crispy like Korean fried chicken and just covered in a sweet sticky blackberry sauce. The chicken was well seasoned and juicy. Every single bite was perfect. I went with the macaroni and cheese and greens for my sides. Both came served in generous portions of deliciousness. The greens might be a little spicy if you don't like heat. My order came with two cornbread muffins. The meal was a very generous and a filling one. I also picked a slice of peach cobbler cheesecake from the dessert case. While tasty, I would have preferred one or the other. Both cheesecake and cobbler in one dessert was just a little too much for me. But delicious nonetheless. I can see why this spot comes with such great accolades for food service and hospitality.

Not only was the food amazing, but the service was also impeccable. The waitress was so nice, and she gave us history on the restaurant and her family. There were pictures of her family on the walls, and they even had a tree branch with wooden portraits of family members (family tree). It was so cool!! The food was so good!! We had the chicken wings, greens, mac and cheese, yams, and catfish. The portion sizes were huge, so we had food to go. A person in our party had the red beans and rice and fried corn and she said the red beans and rice was some of the best she has ever had, and the sauce on the fried corn was good. The cook's husband came out and talked to us at the end of our meal and gave us some background on how he was also in the military, retired and is now working at the restaurant with his wife along with his government job. Everybody was just so nice and welcoming, and it definitely was a great experience. The prices for the food was very affordable considering the portion sizes. We have to go back in January for her next graduation. We will definitely be going back to eat there. I can taste it already!!
