I tried to eat around to get the chicken but the sauce was not very good. This didn't taste like chicken tonga and I wouldn't order it again. The Birria taco also did not taste like Birria that I've had. This was more like beef roast on a taco with toppings. It wasn't bad and it wasn't good but it also didn't come with consume which was disappointing. The sides were rice and beans and while they were ok, I was expecting more flavor and authentic Mexican cheese instead of the plain shredded cheese on top. This was very, very Americanized Mexican food but I think they know their audience. Whatever you do, don't order a Margherita from here. I should've learned my lesson about Charleston area Mexican restaurants the last time I was in town but unfortunately I thought it was just the other restaurant down the block. I'm convinced they use grain alcohol or some other very cheap liquor in these in some of the Mexican restaurants in the area. The flavor was way off and was definitely not tequila. The chicken and biscuit breakfast was simple breaded chicken with no flavor on a basic biscuit. No sauce. No sweet heat. Just a choking hazard. I wanted some hot sauce for my omelette but had to wait 20 minutes just to ask for it. Instead of giving me hot sauce I got one of those white paper portion cups (like you get at fast food places) with a dollop of sauce. We took a long break from this place because they won't accommodate my handicapped mother-in-law for trivia night but decided to give it a go since we have a visitor this weekend. I am regretting that I left our guest with this place as a representation of what is available here.
