Sometimes you go to this TBell at night and it's packed and messy. Side window with delivery orders get rowdy/loud. Other times you come here during the middle of the day and it's just you and two other people. Either way, the service here can get backed up sometimes - for the most part they try to be fast and efficient. Having seen so many TV adverts, I decided to order up some taco bell for delivery. Been a while since I did. Forget any idea of enjoyment. Everything was FLAT, physically and texturally. Quality control at this location needs to be looked at. I love a good chalupa, this location is the only one near me, almost everytime I get it here the chalupa is stale and there's barely any meat filling. Today I got the Crunchwrap supreme. Took a few bites, still no meat, when I got 2/3 of the way through I found the filling which was quite pathetic for $8, it's just a wrap with lettuce and tomato. Honeymoon is over. I've now been in and out of this Taco Bell a number of times, and I can't say I'm overly impressed. It must be very hard to work here: I seem to see new employees struggling to figure it out every time I come through. The sanitation issue is a sticking point. The kiosk touchscreens are often smeared with grease and grime. Dirty napkins and empty sauce packets clutter the tops of tables and trash receptacles. There's a security guard at night: this place can attract an unsavory clientele. More to the point, the food just isn't good enough, often enough. Occasionally I'll get a really bangin' order, but usually everything tastes scraped from the bottom of the pan, haphazardly thrown together, broken and spoiled inside the packaging. It can be a letdown more often than a happy experience. read more

I appreciate that they have a vegetarian-specific menu; I can't think of many fast food places with that (or even vegetarian options in general). Our family frequents this Taco Bell at least once a week and we've only been disappointed recently with the new staff. We are vegetarian and they put beef in a taco. They also try to cram all the Mexican pizzas into the oven at once so the cheese doesn't melt. However, I don't want to take away stars over recent experience because up until two weeks ago they were awesome! I don't know if management and staff changed, in which case, this review will be updated if service continues to falter. In the meantime, I'm giving them some grace as I know employees are hard to come by and everyone is struggling. The wife and I dropped by the cantina on our way to a concert at the Beacon! She was coming from NJ, so I met her at Penn Station and we took the subway over. So for better or worse, I LOVE Taco Bell. Of course, you typically go to Taco Bell and it's your food with a soda or juice. Now take that and upgrade your drink to a beer or a frozen margarita or, dare I say, a frozé?! My life as a Taco Bell fan could not have gotten better. In the photos, you can see what we ordered...traditional fare from the menu including the just brought back chicken rollups. To drink my wife had the frozé, which she LOVED and I went for a dos equis (which believe it or not, pairs very well with the food). 4 stars because, well, I guess I want to be a little more selective of giving 5-stars all the time since I am not super picky, but this was an epic experience for someone who LOVES Taco Bell. read more

Decided to eat taco hell tonight. Bad choice! Wow, horrible. I ordered from here through seamless tonight and I will never order from here again. I ordered a toasted cheddar chalupa, cheesy Gordita crunch (no lettuce), beefy 5 layer burrito (no beans), a cheese quesadilla, and Cinnabon delights 2pk. What I received was a toasted cheddar chalupa which was good and crunchy. One of two items that was actually worth it. A cheesy Gordita crunch WITH LETTUCE and it wasn't crunchy at all, a beefy 5 layer burrito WITH BEANS, and two Cinnabon delights that were actually still semi warm and yummy. They FORGOT the cheese quesadilla. Way to totally screw up my order!!! Instructions were simple. Only two items I paid for were actually worth it. Plus there's a delivery fee. I'm never ordering from here again. Seamless was kind enough to refund me for a small part of the order they messed up bc I couldn't eat it. Worst fast food experience of my life. Served me burnt chicken (literally black) that was completely inedible. I took it back up and there was genuine argument about it. I asked them to try to cut the chicken and after they could not cut their own chicken with a knife (that they expected me to eat), they finally agreed to give me new tacos. I stood for 15 minutes as several people came and went and realized they weren't going to rectify. It took an incredible amount of effort to ask for a refund. I'm still not even sure it went through. I've just written to corporate about the experience and blocked the charges on my card. I could not recommend more that you avoid this place. Taco Bell is a genuinely consistent experience globally and somehow this chain is in NEW YORK and is an international embarrassment. read more

Being a Taco Bell that serves alcohol is pretty awesome. They have a few beer choices, bottled and tap, and a couple of cocktails. They have a video ordering screen, which is also convenient, especially for first timers who want to know the full options when you add alcohol to the mix. The tap beers are filled from the bottom, which is a nifty trick. The cups have a metal rim around a hole, covered by a magnet. The magnets have a little taco bell logo on it, and you know I kept that and put it on my fridge later. The odd thing about it is that you can order drinks from the screen, but then you (understandably) need to go to the counter with your ID. I'm sure there's a better way to go about this. I hadn't eaten at Taco Bell since 1998 and I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that this is not the Taco Bell of 20 years ago! First of all, this is one slick, 21st-century Taco Bell. There are kiosks at which to place your orders. It's very easy to customize your order according to your strange preferences or dietary restrictions without receiving quizzical looks regarding your ordering of a beef taco without the beef. There's a screen that tells you when your food is ready. There's counter seating with charging stations at each seat. NY1 is on 3 large TVs. The lighting is very cool. The place is super clean, too. The food is far, far better than I remembered it and they've got quite a few vegetarian options. For the meaty stuff, you can even select "make it meatless" as an option. Sure, the quality isn't quite Chipotle, but when you want tacos or a bowl and don't want to spend $13 for your meal, this is the place to go. The food is tasty! Last but not least, the service here is incredibly nice. The person who handed me my food smiled and wished me happy holidays. Food is like any other Taco Bell but their pickup station is a mess during prime dinning hours. There's usually dozens of people crowded around waiting for their names to be called. I think this taco bell is a great addition to the neighborhood! I mostly say that because I love taco bell and I appreciate this location for what it is: a place to get the inexpensive, fast, Americanized Mexican food that I have come to love and, occasionally, feel guilty about. If you do not normally like taco bell, you probably won't like this location, because it is still a taco bell. Do not expect the type or authenticity you may get at Cosme or Café Frieda (perhaps this location is a little more like blockheads with self-service). This location is new and not without its growing pains. Sometimes orders take a little longer and the store itself is not huge so there are amost always crowds. In the 5+ times I have been here since it has opened, the food always comes out correctly, even if it takes little bit of time. During busier hours, you'll also see staff prepare your food across the glass partition while the (very nice) manager, Mir, peppers them with encouraging "yes, you got it; let's get this out faster; remember to subsitute XXX," I can't speak personally to the boozy drinks, but there are a lot of them (Frose, ha!, and various beers / boozy margaritas). For those underage, they will card you at the counter before giving you your drink, so be aware. The food follows the standard taco bell menu and always comes out hot and cheesy. Overall, I would come here any time I am craving T-Bell. Perhaps on a more rowdy day, I could see someone coming here for a quick drink pre-shenanigans or a meal post-shenanigans. I'm very pleased this opened near my apartment, and I sincerely appreciate its friendly staff and deliciously inauthentic tacos. read more

The Latin female manager that was working here at midnight on Thursday august 19th was extremely rude and constantly bickering about me just because I complained about the chalupa bread being extremely stale and hard. She snapped back at me and said it's fried. I always thought chalupas were toasted not fried., I've been eating these things since they invented them and they never tasted this stale and hard. Like concrete! I couldn't even finish my meal. When I complained about it she started speaking to me in a condescending way and bickering among staff but loud enough for everyone in the restaurant to hear.
