Nachos Bell Grande
Faye A.

My colleagues decided to get lunch to go from Taco Bell so we stopped by this location in Montebello. Service was fast and friendly. Samantha took my order and she was very pleasant. I got a nachos bell grande. It's gotten smaller and less flavor when they stopped putting green onions on it. Honestly, it's not Taco Bell.... it's me. I have a love & hate relationship w this restaurant brand and have grown out of it. Sure, I grew up on this stuff. Now.... the first few bites are good... crunchy.... but gets saltier and saltier the more you eat it! I prefer Del Taco, since their Tex-Mex fast food is better quality than Taco Bell. I guess it's ok if you're starving and this is the closest thing available. It's just that.... we're gonna have to break up Taco Bell, you don't make me happy anymore, I've moved on.

Had to order a real drink and the freeze I have yet to taste at all.

Service was very unpleasant, first no smile no thank you for ordering with us after placing an order in drive through. Guess courtesy ends what can I write? Courtesy is not your number one selling point. Second we order ordered family pack with half the tacos having tomatoes. Only 4 had tomato and a pinch of it. We did pay for extra tomatoes. As for napkins a family pack should have at least two napkins per person right well lucky us we had 3 napkins. I also order a large Passion freeze and got a small cup half way with dried not fresh strawberries. Almost $40 for this type of service. Not the typical taco love madness I remember when a teen. So this definitely breaks my heart. Miss the detail and great service back then.

Did the drive thru. Got the No: 11, Box 2 chicken tacos, bag tortillia chips, medium Mountain Dew. Got home, The tacos were both broken on the bottoms. Still edible. Tasted really good, with the supplied packets of green salsa. Great food! Great service! Great prices!

Drive thru is available for those days when you just don't want to change or get out of the car. Had no problem with wait time. This location is in the same plaza with the AMC theater. Tip: download the mobile app for more deals/rewards -they are currently offering a free chalupa craving box for first time sign ups. I redeemed a free craving box that included 1 crunchy taco, 1 chalupa supreme, 1 beefy 5 layer burrito, cinnamon twist, and a Mountain Dew drink. Great deal to try the different items on the menu. Sauce: if you're a condiment person. I questioned all the sauce packets. The mild and hot sauce didn't have much "spice". Fire sauce in my opinion has the best taste and actually has a small kick of spice.

Parking can be a bit of hassle especially if you're there during rush hour. However, it's well worth the trouble. It's a small, quint place with indoor and outdoor seating. The lady was very friendly, service was quick and order was nicely packaged since mine was a to go order. As others have said, the birria is incredible. I got 2 Birria burritos with rice, onions, and cilantro and it was literally melt in your mouth. Perfectly seasoned, the hot sauce they provide had just the right amount of heat and it comes with the consome' should you want it. Nothing but praise for this burrito! Looking at the rest of the menu, I will back for sure to try their other items!

It is a small restaurant, with limited rear parking and front street parking. It's a cozy and inviting atmosphere inside, with seating indoor and out. Service is quick and attentive from start to finish. The birria tacos are amazing. They were full of tender, fall apart beef soaked in super meaty consommé, topped with generous amounts of red onions and cilantro. The limes, radishes, and hot sauces provided on the side really brought everything together. To really takes things up a notch, the mulita turns the birria tacos into a melty, cheesy, crunchy and super savory standout star of the menu. Absolutely worth trying once!

Sergio's Tacos has been a longtime go-to spot for my family for many years. Overall, the food is…read moregood, and it's one of those places we keep coming back to because when they get it right, it really hits the spot. My personal favorite is their burrito, pretty much with any meat. They do a great job balancing and rolling it so that you get a good mix of everything in each bite, which makes a big difference. Family favorites also include their carne asada tacos, tacos in general, their nachos, and the tortas de milanesa. That said, the food can be a little hit and miss at times depending on how it's prepared and served. For me, the one thing I usually skip here is the al pastor. It tends to be a little too soupy for my taste, and in my experience it does not have that fresh off-the-trompo texture and flavor that I prefer. As for service, it really depends on who you get. It can be hit and miss, but for the most part the staff is not rude and things usually move along fine. Ambiance is pretty minimal in my experience, mainly because I usually take the food to go, so I'm not really coming here for the dine-in atmosphere. Pricing is decent, the food is generally satisfying, and this is still a spot that has earned its place as a family favorite over the years. Not perfect every single time, but definitely a place we've enjoyed and will keep coming back to.

What? $2.50 Wednesday Tacos special only at this location? Will have to come back for that! Love…read moretheir $4 Mixto Meat (carnitas) Tacos!! One $4 taco is like a mini burrito. When there's tons of $1.25-$2 taco options in the neighborhood and even by Boyle Heights, that $4 is worth it! It's filling. I feel anyone who's a carnitas lover will enjoy El Momo. Meats here are salted now. But not overly. Looks like they are open and serving consistently now again too? Locations we've been to: Original boyle heights location was always good. Add your own salt. But then again, haven't been back since before covid times, before it became mainstream popular? Boyle heights (soto st) 2nd location was too salty for the SO a year ago. He's not planning to revisit. He only visited cause this location was closed again. East LA location (this one) wasn't stable in its opening dates, hours, including their mixton taco meat quality. We are used to adding our own salt. But as our recent visit 9/2026, looks like they presalt their meat now!! And it's not overly salty too!

Carnitas El Momo is the place to come for carnitas (pork), especially if you like pork skin or…read morestomach. Looking up 'Best carnitas in LA', and there's a good chance that 'Carnitas El Momo' will pop up in your search results list. Starting as a food truck in Boyle Heights in 2015 (which is still open), this brick-n-mortar location with indoor dining in Monterey Park opened in 2022. It ended up being a bit longer walk than I anticipated coming from the East LA Civic Center Metro station, so my brother and I were drenched in sweat on this 90+ degree day. We walked into the air conditioned uncrowded building, and were friendlily greeted, and offered a simple taco of pork burnt ends. It was good and gave us a taste of what the rest of the meal would be like. Between the two of us, we ordered a sample of each taco ($4), stuffed in a decent tortilla. The meats are available are buche (pork stomach), cueritos (pork skin), maciza (pork shoulder), and migajas (burnt ends). We also got the Mix (all the meats aptly named aPORKalypse) and also a mulitas ($12 for all the meats except stomach). Everything was ordered con todo, which meant a lot of cilantro and pickled white onion with lime wedges. I also got a large horchata ($6). There is self-serve water available near the simple salsa bar (choice of a hot green sauce, and even hotter red sauce and hot pickled peppers). All the meat is cooked in lard low and slow and seasoned according to the patriarch's (aka Momo) original receipt from Salamanca, Mexico. The slow simmering definitely was noticeable and we enjoyed the flavors. My favorite was definitely the Mix, with a nice blend of texture. I think have a crunch factor (like chicharron) would have added even more texture, but I understand that would not be authentic. Also I noted that they call buche here pork belly, which is a very different pork belly than in Far East Asian cuisine. I like buche though in moderation, and this version was very good, especially mixed with pork muscle cuts. Pork skin by itself in a taco is too much for me. I would definitely get the mulitas again, replacing the pork skin with buche, and putting on it a milder sauce than the hot ones offered...definitely need a lot of acidity to cut through the very fatty meal.
