I have no idea why this is rated at a one and a half star establishment. It's not spectacular, but it is certainly a decent food joint. My wife and I drive between Chicago and Champaign every week. We have stopped at this particular Taco Bell/Kentucky fried chicken dozens of times. The food is very tasty and nicely prepared and we hardly ever have to wait at all. I have ordered both chicken and Taco Bell items they have always turned out very well. Also, nice big large parking lot out front and easy access to the store. This Taco Bell is literally dog shit. Just stopped here on our way to Chicago and waited almost FIFTEEN minutes with only one other person in the drive thru. We finally got our order and even tho the receipt sub chicken on my taco and burrito, they were both beef (I cant eat beef) so everyone in my car is eating and I dont get to because some moron in the kitchen didnt take the time to read. And my mother in law and wife didnt recieve the avacado ranch in the side like they asked for. The girls up front seemed confused and I am really not happy. Horrible time. What can I say. Don't go here. The food is awful. They have never changed the oil in the fryer since the place was opened. I ordered their cinnamon twists and it tasted like oily cardboard. It was disgusting. My sister-in-law ordered the Mexican pizza and she returned it for the same reason. Totally inedible food. The burrito that I ordered tasted like it came out of the microwave uncooked and cold. How this place is in business I will never know. Every time my brothers and I head to our grandparents, we always stop for 4th meal in Manteno. Service is friendly, orders are correct, but sometimes the chips are stale. We stopped here on the way back from Chicago. I ordered two tostadas fresco style. They came out with basically everything I didn't want on in...including beef. When I brought this to their attention they made them again but neglected to put the red sauce on it still. It's not rockect science. Worst Taco Bell in America. This place should seriously be shut down. I have been to this Taco Bell two times. The first there were BUGS all over the tables, floors, and drink machine clinging to food that was not picked up. There was a black hair in my bean burrito which I was forced to throw out, and the line was moving so slow that I saw three groups of people leave after I got there. The second time I went, they had NO SOAP in the restroom and instead of replacing it put an out of order sign over it. Not only were they out of soap but I saw an employee walk out without washing their hands!! I was starving so I ordered food.(the place was a little cleaner than last time) only to my dismay they were out of every pop except diet and water. I got my food 20 minutes later (after watching two boys put buckets on their heads and horseplay) the XXL grilled stuffed burrito was broken and extremely soggy! I asked for beans instead of beef because I'm a vegetarian as well as no tomatoes because IM ALLERGIC (on receipt everything was correct ) but it seems as if the kitchen staff thought I meant EXTRA BEEF. There were tomatoes on my burrito and I had to stab myself with an epi pen when I got home!No point in complaining they just ask if you want a refund or a meal replacement. I'd like to not die!! Staff is extremely rude and no one there seems to care. This Taco Bell should be shut down. Do not go here unless you want disgusting food, awful staff, and gross conditions. read more

Been here a number of times, never had an issue, but had to post tonight. Got to the table, eating, halfway through the meal and found that they forgot my cinnamon twists. Not the end of the world, but disappointing. Went up to the counter expecting a fight (it had been 20 minutes since my order) and not only did they apologize profusely and get me my twists immediately, they gave me 3 cookies as an apology, completely unsolicited! I have lived in manteno for 8 yrs. This tacobell is the worst and so are most of the employees. If I order a cheese quesadilla with no sauce it's always on my receipt right but I get it and it's smothered in sauce. My kids do not eat jalapeño sauce! So then I stand there and wait another 5 mins for it to be made again and it has sauce on it for the second time. Can these people not read. Then the manager has the nerve to give me a attitude???
