They don't put enough meat on their tacos. I use to love their food, I'm not paying for lettuce and tomatoes

The food tastes like poop. And the service sucks they spit in my food. And the ambiance was awful. The restroom had shit in the roof.

Our waitress came on over right away and dropped off menus and took our drink orders. We had two horchatas. We decided to pick from the menu and not go with the buffet they offer for lunch. The buffet in my opinion did not look fresh and did not have enough options. I ordered a chicken tostada and the flautas entree, while my friend ordered a smothered chicken chimichanga. My chicken tostada was soggy by the time it made itself my way. It was loaded with beans, chicken, lettuce, and some other toppings so it broke when I picked it up. My chicken flautas were plain and just missing flavor. My friends chimi was superr salty and so she decided not to eat it. Our drinks sat empty for sometime and when we looked for our server she was sitting at a booth talking to what seemed her friend. So I waved her down to get some refills. The horchata was pretty good!! We needed boxes and she never came back to us so so we grabbed the ones from the buffet line. Food wasn't all that great and the service was ehhh..

*** good choice for some Baja-style Mexican food in southeastern New Mexico ***…read more When I have a lot on my mind, I drive to a new-to-me place and EAT. Baja Grill in Lovington, NM, was on my bookmarks for a long time. It was well worth the wait! At around 1:45 pm, I walked into a nearly empty restaurant. I was seated right away and served some very good red salsa and crispy, semi-thick homemade tortilla chips. I liked the variety of high-top and normal-height tables. I knew as soon as I saw "blackened tilapia" on the menu I had to have it. "Served on a bed of rice pila" ($12.99), it also came with my choice of two sides. The charro beans and fried okra were excellent! While my fish wasn't the freshest, the seasoning was really delicious. The outer edges were crispy, but inside the fish was flaky and moist. I also ordered a refreshing Sprite. Paid cash. Got just a little less than $4 back. Service was nice, but my waitress only checked on me after she realized I was ready to go. The food is fairly unique to Lea County. I can see why my employees like this place. I'm glad I had a lot on my mind that day... Really dumb parking lot, though. No painted lines so everyone just parks like idiots. And it's rather dull on the outside. Hard to easily recognize that it's a place that serves seafood. RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 4.5 | Service: 5 | Ambiance: 5 | Price: 4 PARKING There is abundant free parking in a private lot or some street parking within a short walking distance. LOCATION/AMBIANCE Right away I noticed a simple, but large metal building adorned with desert landscaping and some "pizza wing" art towards the back. Inside, a large bar area is met with high ceilings and several other seating options including tables inside the nicely air-conditioned dining room or a few outdoor tables. THE GRUB My significant other cowboy ordered the "Urlager" because it was the closest thing to his Keystone. He wasn't a fan. At first sip, it was okay to me but definitely ended with a nutty sort of IPA aftertaste. I opted for the blueberry lavender vodka concoction... it was good! We shared the pizza of the week: jalapeño popper with bacon. It was so good! Altogether, our meal costed less than $28. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUBI don't recall a kid's menu. SERVICE Our waitress was great! So sweet, funny & attentive. The two bartenders were hustlers as well. MY FAVORITE PART... The pizza! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... I'll get to my CONS out of the way: - limited hours on Saturdays & Sundays (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM) - credit card fee of 3.5% and I did NOT see this posted at the register - No buffet on Saturdays - chips and salsa are NOT complimentary ($6.99) My daughters and I came here for lunch for a girls day out before Mother's Day 2026 since we were spending time with family on Sunday. My dish: Tacos a la Parilla ($14.99 for 3 soft tacos with grilled brisket, guacamole, jalapenos, onions, tomatoes) served with rice and beans. Absolutely delicious. I would get this again. My oldest daughter also had a brisket taco plate ($14.99) but the crispy variety without jalapeno or pico de gallo. My youngest daughter opted for a cheeseburger ($13.89) with fries ($2.00). If those weren't fresh hand-cut fries I would be surprised. They were yummy. Slightly crisp. Not too oily. The burger I would have eaten all by myself with its buttery fluffy buns. This is a close first place for burgers in Lovington with Lazy 6 being its competition. Their horchata was divine ($4.25 × 2). My youngest was happy with her sweet tea ($3.75). Loved the vibes inside. The ceilings and lighting fixtures were very interesting. Not overly decorated. Good Mexican music playing at a good decibel. All of the staff members we interacted with were friendly. Restrooms and parking were good. I'll be a repeat offender.

I ordered two sodas with cherry through the drive-through. When we received them, we genuinely could not taste any cherry. We calmly drove back through and politely asked if a little more cherry could be added so the drinks would taste as expected. Unfortunately, the interaction with the manager, Claudia, was uncomfortable. Instead of a simple adjustment or solution, we were told that adding more cherry would require an extra charge. I tried to clarify that I wasn't asking for "extra," only for the drinks to taste as they normally do. Given that this location has been known to make frequent mistakes, we honestly assumed the cherry may have been left out. The conversation became unexpectedly tense. She was behaving absolutely ridiculous and nasty. When I asked about a refund instead, I was told that refunds were not given. I also requested the owner's contact information and she told me she wouldn't give it to me. This review isn't about cherry, it's about the customer service experience. Small issues happen at any business. What matters is how they are handled. A more solution-oriented and courteous response would have made this a simple fix rather than a negative experience.

RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 3 | Service: 4 | Ambiance: 2 | Price: 3 PARKING There was ample parking all around the building at 11 AM. LOCATION/AMBIANCE It's located fairly in the center of Lovington. Not difficult to find with the purple and white stripes. I know it happens, but it's gross to see a rat trap in front of the building. And hoards of pigeons hang out above the covered parking where I had to position my trusty Jeep to wait for my food. The other thing I was irritated by was there was no visible menu at the drive-thru window. THE GRUB I asked about the Pancho burger which did not have a description on the menu the nice employee handed me. He said, "double meat, double cheese with green chili, ketchup and mustard..." I stopped him. "I'll take one of those without ketchup and mustard. Add mayo." When I got it, it was smaller than anticipated for it being $10.70 with a small drink. The meat tasted a bit weird to me. They went skimpy on the veggies. I barely had any lettuce. Nothing else. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB I don't recall seeing a kid's menu. SERVICE Was nice, but not well-rehearsed in how much their specials were. MY FAVORITE PART... It's got some old school charm. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... Inside to the left is the meat market. It's clean. Organized. Other produce & goods were available. The fresh meat & ready-to-eat options looked nice. To the right was the restaurant grill. I was going to stay to eat, but there was a rather large group, consuming most of the booths and tables. Plus it was raining outside so I took my order for takeout back to work.
