Not watery per se, but just kind of runny. The chips were fresh, although the one thing I really didn't like was that we had to pay for them and the salsa, which was bland. Virtually all other Mexican places bring you chips and salsa to start your meal. And honestly, for what I got, I think it was kind of pricy.
