    Taco & Burrito Cravings Pack

Former employee, not going to say much, the photo & videos do enough justice, even if you ignore the fruitful captions. Mechanicsburg is better in terms of layout, cleanliness, accuracy and speed. You just come to Enola when you prioritize convenience over quality and health.

The restaurant itself had a few tables, a frozen ice cream box, video chance games, a huge rack of phone cards and several pictures decorating the walls. Most of the pictures depicted scenes from mexico, such as poncho villa, zapata, rural life, cows, etc... one of the walls was covered in mirrors and had a sombrero hanging on it. They have standard tacos at 2.50 apiece, chicken, beef or pork. We tried several of them. There was also a Torta for 8.50 that was pretty decent. There was some type of hot sauce (Valentina brand) here that that we put on it made it significantly better. The helado de fresa or strawberry ice cream ($1.50) balanced it out. We also had the Bistek Ranchero: it came with 6 yellow corn tortillas, onions, cilantro, beans, rice & lots of beef, mixed with red pepper. That cost 14.00 pretty decent if you ask me. What makes this place stand out in my opinion is the " tostada ceviche de camaron " or lime marinaded seafood salad on a deep fried corn tortilla. This item is occasionally also available at competitors but not nearly as good. 5 Stars, incredible food!

That being said, I went today and got four tacos, two adobada and two carnitas, and when I tell you the tacos were delicious, that's no joke. The chips come out PIPING HOT and are fresh fried, as they should be, but seems to be rare for Mexican restaurants in the area these days... the salsa is incredibly good. It is a touch spicy with a little sweetness, but we loved the flavor. The first basket is free (also not always the norm around here) and a second basket is only $1.50 more - that's amazing! We also got a queso con chorizo to share and the small size was PLENTY. We both decided on taco platters and that was a great choice - we got to try a bunch of meats that way. The al pastor was amazing, as was the carne asada, carnitas, and shrimp taco. The tacos were topped with an amazing guacamole sauce. I got corn tortilla tacos and they were perfectly griddled and warm. My husband enjoyed his flour tortilla tacos. The rice and beans were fresh and hot and delicious too. Food came out quick and exactly as we ordered, even with some modifications! We didn't love the additional red sauce in the squirt bottle that you can add to your food, but the salsa verde in the squirt bottle was good. I ordered an extra salsa to add to my tacos instead. For drinks, there's agua frescas and an extensive soda selection in a case to choose from. My husband was happy to see Mexican Coke. Service was great! Overall, we had two taco platters, queso, two drinks, plus an extra chips and salsa for less than $40. You can't beat it. We will be back!!

Décor was the typical Mexican, with over-the-top paint colors. The dining area was spacious. The waitress greeted us with big smiles. We sat ourselves by the window. Immediately we were offered a complimentary serving of chips and salsa. The chips were well made and the salsa was tangy and very appetizing. I made my order almost in no time for the Mole Poblano; my wife ordered Pechuga en Crema con Champiñones. The food came out in about 10 minutes; both dishes came with 4-5 tortillas. Now, the long-awaited mole sauce -- thick, dark, and complex. I watched a YouTube video on how it's typically made, so I had a level of respect and appreciation for it. It tasted like the popular five-spice bean curd jerky Asian snack -- bold and strong. I liked it very much. My wife's cream chicken, while moist, was bland in comparison. If you're like me, you'd be a bit confused when the bill came. The amounts were different from what the menu showed. Basically, the figures on the bill were the inflated prices that included surcharges for paying with a credit card. If you pay cash, you pay the menu prices instead.

Unfortunately one of the Mexican restaurants in the area has closed down, and the most popular one was inexplicably not open (as least so said DoorDash), so I tried this one. Actually I visited this unassuming little place (think food truck fused into a building with a handful of equally unassuming indoor seating options) and the food wasn't bad, so I figured I'd try it today. It certainly beats Taco Bell! Actually it was pretty good. It was more of a 3.5 but until we can give 1/2 stars I rounded up to a 4 in honor of Cinco de Mayo! My favorite dish was the chicken tostada, followed surprisingly by the fish burrito. The chips were pretty nice. The "hot" sauce/salsa was disappointing because it was anything but hot - in fact more sweet than hot. I had a variety four pack of tacos but was a bit disappointed they were on soft tortilla shells when I hoped for hard shells. If there was an option it wasn't readily discernible. Lastly, the empanadas were solid but nothing special. This place is near Dickinson College and serves a vital role of food variety for the area. It's not special but it certainly is not a place to avoid. In fact, if you are in the area and craving Mexican, give it a try. It's more hit than miss and will leave you satisfied overall.

We wanted to try the flan, but they were all sold out, which means it has to be amazing. I'll be trying it next time I am in the area. They are limited in seating, so I would recommend calling before hand if you would like to dine in.

The cashier always has had an attitude but we were always able to ignore it due to the good food. My husband previously had an al pastor that made him never eat pork again. It had a foul taste and he vomited. Mind you, he had eaten this dish for many years at this location. I encouraged him to return and choose a different meat. Tonight did it for me... I ordered a chicken burrito as usual. The cheese was hard and cold, the tortilla was also hard, dry, and flavorless and not wrapped well. The meat quality has declined and it was overall inedible. I am not a picky eater. The restaurant was cold (possibly saving on energy- I get it) BUT my food was just waiting in the carry out and I had to wait an additional 5 mins just to pay for my food because the register was unattended! Why? Shocker, the cashier was outside hanging out with their girlfriend. Lastly, they charge stupid extra for salsa and they didn't even give it to me. Not to mention the price has significantly increased over the years but the quality has heavily declined. Will never order from here again. Take the trip to El Taco Yummy or Taqueria El Molcajete who appreciates your business and serves phenomenal food.
