Everything homemade sopas are delicious. The tacos you can't get enough of and the sides are spot on. And it comes with this wonderful roasted jalapeño. You'll find yourself comfortable in a warm atmosphere. Busy during lunchtime. Perfect timing is a little after lunch. If you pass this place up, it's your loss,

As a born and raised Houston Texan, I've ate at countless "Authentic Mexican" restaurants. I'll…read morestart off by saying the peanut hot sauce is great, and goes with all the menu items, the Birra quesadilla was better than most. However, my positives end there. This one, just like many others are a scam, the water is terrible, has been the 6 months I keep giving them a chance. The chips are stale and to thick. The fajitas were lacking meat. And worse of all, the tacos are 5 dollars and the size of my palm. This is 100% a scam, you can get far better and bigger tacos in majority of Louisville's Latino restaurants. "Just because it is a whole in the wall, doesn't always make it good" I will say the service was good, but so is the Jamaican in the cruse port. They all like your money. They have a social media influenced taco wall "Feed me tacos and call me pretty" Yet the tacos are the most disappointing item on the menu. If you want great tacos for a fair price, try Mexico City, Mexico they are epic, and only 50 cents a pop.

They have plenty of parking in their parking lot. Seating is first come first serve. There is patio seating and inside seating. Place your order up at the counter. Taco N Madres has an area with serve yourself, water, and variety of sauces. The inside was clean and decorated very cute. My husband and I each got a margarita. The margarita was fresh and had great flavor. We decided to split the chips and guacamole. The guacamole came out in a large bowl and was a great addition to our meal. I ordered the birria quesadilla. The Barbacoa to cheese ratio was perfect. My husband opted for the gringo taco & he said it was exactly what he was craving. Everything we ordered was excellent. Taco N Madres is worth the hype. Staff were so friendly! Thank you for a great Friday night dinner... we will be back.

They have a little bar with sauces, jalapeños, extra napkins & containers. We chose the birria quesadilla & chicken tacos. The birria stole the show! 10/10 recommend - I would just order the birria tacos instead next time. Service was good & a few people around us got their brunch menu & it looked fresh ' & delicious. Can't wait to go back for a fancy drink.

They start you with these funky fried crisps. No salsa or pico-but on the bright side you don't fill up with chips. Good thing, because the portions are ginormous! It's rare I can't finish a meal, but my shredded beef with mole was more than enough for a takeout box. I ordered the platter, so my meal came with rice and refried beans. We had the leftovers for lunch the following day. My wife ordered two alacart items. Shrimp cerviche and a chicken taco. Both well prepared. And as a side bonus, the tortillas were outstanding. I'm not a fan of corn tortillas, but these home made gems had flavor and didn't fall apart like packaged ones. Same with the crispy corn shells for the tostada. Great crunch and real flavor. Beer was served cold along with a frosted mug and a slice of lime. Everything is made to order. One fella was the chief, cook & bottle washer. And waiter. He speaks English when he sees you struggling with the menu. He made us feel very welcome. This is a down to earth diner that hasn't seen any updating since day one, but the food is excellent, the restrooms are clean and the service was perfectomundo.

I was able to explore the menu but I knew I had walked in for a ceviche. Glad waitress clarified the typo on large shrimp ceviche's price, which immediately translated to honesty. Thei give you a complimentary savory broth with hints of seafood flavor and potatoes which is a welcoming opening. The flavor was excellent the tostadas are like home made non commercial, loved them. Their give you fresh lime or already squeezed natural lime juice. I had a campechano (mixed) taco and a pastor taco. Which they have for .99 on Tuesdays so I will be a regular on Tuesdays too. There is parking on the front and on one of the sides of the place. The team was quick with food, attentive to all needs and very professional and friendly. And the price value is amazing. There are many items I still have to try but it is in my top 3 list for Mexican food in Kentuckiana!

Due to a tornado warning, we decided to skip driving to Agave + Rye (big mistake) from Veterans due to living over 30 minutes away and needed to get home stat. So we ordered from what we thought was an interesting menu compared to most taco spots. Sadly, the tacos received were child size, yet cost $7-$8. My shrimp taco had one shrimp on it, and the rest sauce. While my chicken taco that was supposed to have quirky ingredients was missing said ingredients and the chicken was raw. I immediately spit it up and threw it in the trash. While my stomach did hurt for two days, I'm still alive. So, it luckily didn't kill me but there is a serious disconnect in the kitchen. I attempted to contact the business to discuss the order issues but a manager never called back. Wouldn't have left this review if communication was followed through on. I work hard for my money and was expecting a loaded high-quality $8 taco worthy of the investment. Torchys, sadly, didn't deliver on that promise. From the muddled flavors, missing ingredients, raw chicken, and dollhouse sized tacos... Torchys won't get my hard earned money again.
