Their Steak Tacos are delicious. Their dipped cones are weak on the dipped chocolate, could use more chocolate.

How I discovered Taco City: I took the exit off I-65 heading for Cracker Barrel, went past it and…read moreneeded to turn around. So I pulled in this parking lot to turn around and realized it was a Mexican restaurant, which sounded much better than Cracker Barrel anyway. A very nice discovery! The dining room is bright, clean, and cheerfully decorated. It is also much larger inside than it appears from the outside. The menu is much larger than I had expected. So many choices, ranging from authentic options like tongue to vegetarian options. I ordered a cheese enchilada dinner with sides of guacamole and bean dip. I loved the guacamole, it had a good texture and was a little spicy, definitely some jalapeño. Beans and rice were excellent. The rice had good flavor. My enchiladas were tasty. Servings are very generous. Prices are reasonable. I'll be happy to stop here for lunch or dinner when I am traveling between Indianapolis and Louisville

You enter into a typical, colorful dining area and we were treated and seated promptly. We ordered a couple of Coronas. I tried a Familiar, a dark Corona. Full bodied, great flavor. I'll have to look for it at Total Wines. Our chips and salsa came quickly. We really liked the salsa and asked if it was made in house. Nope. It's Julio's from the jar. They do make a mild, medium and hot house salsa. The hot, a combo of jalapeño and Serrano didn't taste hot at first, but snuck up on me after a few minutes. My fajita dinner was served up as hot as I've ever had. In fact, I couldn't hold the tortillas for several minutes! A bit on the greasy side, but the chicken was served as good sized chunks. Lots of peppers & grilled onions. Interestingly, no guacamole is served with the fajita fixins. My wife ordered a shrimp dish, again, a tad greasy and slightly overdone shrimp. Her biggest complaint was the onions being over charred. Not a problem for me. I thought the grilled veggies and "grease" gave both dishes great flavor. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to return. But I would ask them to go a tad easier on the oil.

My entree was Shrimp a la Diabla (rice, corn tortilla). The tortilla completely fell apart while trying to eat them which was a bummer, but the shrimp were a decent size and had good flavor. I would come back to try other things, the menu is big and has a ton of options!

I'm sitting here scratching my head as why because at best, this is a 3-star place and barely at that. The food was okay but nothing to write home about. I've had much better Mexican food at other places. I ordered the Chori Pollo which is chorizo on top of grilled chicken with cheese and white rice. My order was taken down wrong and I ended being given something entirely different. They did end up making it correct for me. The horchata I ordered was really good and one of the better ones I've had from a place. My server was nice despite taking down my order entirely wrong. The interior is nice. It the music is absolutely too loud and constantly playing so you may need to talk a bit louder than usual if you want to have a conversation with anyone dining with you. I can't see myself returning to this establishment and one that I wouldn't recommend. I had to fight with flies the entire time I was dining which added to the rather displeasing time I was here. The prices for the food isn't too terrible and pretty standard if you've been to most other Mexican restaurants that have a similar menu. Do yourself a favor and find another, much better place for Mexican food than here.

We arrived for a Sunday around 6 PM dinner and were seated immediately. We opted for indoor…read moredining, but outdoor patio dining is now available. Dining area was at 2/3 capacity. The upbeat festive music is quite loud and made it difficult to hear our server. She seemed a bit frustrated with us when we had to request she repeat herself. We also felt rushed during our visit -- halfway through the appetizer course when our entrees were dropped off and then asked midway through entree course if we wanted dessert and To Go boxes. Our entire visit was less than 45 minutes. We started with a combination appetizer, which was a nice variety of items. Entree selections were crab chimichanga dinner, three piggies fajita dinner, and a combination meal. All 3 of us were complimentary of the food. Food is delicious, seasoned well, and piping hot. Menu is extensive with lovely presentation. Restaurant is lovely, modern, and comfortable seating. Property has ample free parking and easy accessibility. Service is efficient and extremely fast. Paid with a gift card and credit card, but realized later when checking receipt the GC was not credited. Ah well, my fault for not checking at the time during processing, but sharing to say to request 2-step process with gift credit to be applied first and then to pay the revised balance due. Will likely return for the phenomenal lunch deals when in the area -- ample selection and terrific value. Great takeout option for quick delicious meals. Overall, friendly staff working as a team to assist table side.

It was all very good. I especially liked the sauce that came on with the rice. The setting was very festive with a buzz throughout the restaurant as they were very busy. Even though they were busy, they did a great job getting the food out to all the tables. Our's didn't take long at all. Our waiter checked on us multiple times. We will be back.
