I like the atmosphere of this restaurant. It had nice photo ops. The drinks are ok. The service is friendly, but it took a long time. The food looked delicious, but was pretty bland. I have to say though, my leftovers tasted better the next day. I'm pretty sure I would only come back for drinks and photo ops. The food was not good enough for me to come back for a meal.

Food was good, not amazing. I was only one at bar on a Friday night, which was strange. But after full experience, it makes sense. Biggest thing was check. Not bartender's fault but I had to lower tip because of it. They had two surprise charges on there. Got to read the fine print in this place! Wouldn't go back simply due to lost trust. They say another $0.99 for adding another protein but then add another $1 on top of that because one is steak. And then they surprisingly charge $1 extra for each imported beer you drink. Sorry, but this place is sneaky and greedy.

The service, food and drinks are always the best here. The colorful murals on the walls add to the festive feeling. Margaritas are strong, food is hit and tasty. Great place for a quick lunch or dinner with good people.

Taco Salad with shredded chicken. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The avocado crème dressing was delicious too

Delicious food at fair prices. Murals cover the walls, giving diners plenty to look at. Waitress answered our questions ( one of us can't eat onions) and found her to be knowledgeable and helpful. Will return here whenever we travel through the southern Indiana area!

In town to help out my childhood friend with some health issue and needed some Mexican. Senior Iguanas was close and open!!! The Chips were good but the Salsa was too spicy for me. So the next best thing was to get some Queso Dip!!! Much better!! My Iguana Tea was yummy and strong and the Traditional Margaritas were good too!!! I had the Make your own Combo!! An Enchilada and a Tostada!!! Double Rice and it was very good!! My friend had the Steak Quesadilla and my New Friend had the street Tacos which looked delish!!!!

Always good food . Junior gave the best service . Friendly and fast . Typical ambiance for Mexican restaurant. Best Margarita for sure! We miss the Iguanas's at central station but this gives almost the same vibe .

One has to wonder how Senor Iguanas stays open. We walked into a ghost town at 11:45. Servers were standing around like lost soles. We had a similar experience a few months back. But the food was good, so we decided it was time for another visit. As before, service was excellent and the salmon tacos were outstanding This time I went with chicken fajitas instead of steak. The lunch portion is substantial, but the chicken was a bit dry, and the accompanying black beans were served ice cold. My wife's beans were also served cold. BTW, Senor Iguana makes an excellent salsa. And by the time we fished our lunch diners were seated at another 3 tables.

After a little home project, my friend and I discovered that our usual Mexican food place was closed. So we decided to try Senor Iguanas.  There is a sunroom through the first door of the building and we proceeded through the second set of doors. The restaurant has a bright décor, filled with booths and tables.  We both ordered a drink - my friend ordered a strawberry daquiri and I ordered a house margarita. The daquiri was divine - it tasted more like a strawberry milkshake rather than an alcoholic drink. It was tasty. The house margarita on the other hand, I could barely get through. Think a lime green popsicle meets well tequila.  Definitely used a mix, definitely very not good. The color was almost fluorescent in color.   Appetizers - the chips and salsa were delish. We actually ordered queso which was really good too. All the food had a lot of spice to it, but not over the top. We really enjoyed the queso and the salsa! Yum Entrees - my friend ordered an a la cart item; chicken and cheese quesadilla and I ordered fajitas.  Friend says the chicken was over-seasoned, almost too spicy. I tried it. I thought it tasted like a frozen dinner chicken. The fajitas....they needed seasoning. I loved the mix of green and red peppers, I didn't love the lack of seasoning. Salt helped but not perfect.

I visited this resturant on a Saturday night. They sat us in the back which was not an issue, but our service suffered because of it. It took a while to be visited by a waitress and there was a delay in getting us chips and salsa. I ordered the fijitas with chicken. The main fijitas were fine, but the dish was the sides is where I ran into issues. I ordered double beans instead of any rice and there was also pico, lettuce, and sour cream. It appears they did not drain something because there was a lot of water on the plate. It got quite frustrating because it was affecting the beans and making them watery. I was dissatisfied with the puddle on my plate. The resturant was decorated quite nice for the holidays which was nice to look at on the way to the table, but as I said, we were in thw back and didnt have any decorations.

When we arrived the parking lot was almost empty. Making us think that it might be closed. But, we hit it just right because by the time we left the parking lot was filling up nicely. My question to any and all Mexican restaurants, is very simple. Is this all Mexico has to offer? While the menu here had less to offer it was the same basic offerings. I never tried this place and had heard good things. I want you to understand that since I became an elite member, I feel I should try to bring the good, bad and ugly. To really do that a place should not be just okay. I feel that this was just okay. It did not offer or taste better than any other Mexican place. From this point on I am only going to give any resturant no more than a 3 unless there is something, or someone who makes it shine. Because we as an eating public deserve better than average, no matter the price point. With that said the one good point is the daily special. My wife had the Nachos, which is only 7.00, normally 12.99. It was enough that it fed her and my youngest. The other good thing was the food was good, not great, not awesome, but good. It wasn't bad, because if had been I be more critical. Maybe the next visit I will find something to rave about.

I wish I could join the chorus of 4 and 5 star reviews. Looking for a restaurant with atmosphere?…read more You won't find it here. My first warning was the decrepit sign over the door in a dilapidated strip center. But, as the saying goes, "don't judge a book by its cover." The food was good. Not great. My usual order is fajitas, this time a chicken, steak, and chicken combo. The plate was served sizzling. Served with 3 small tortillas and the usual fixin's. El Mexicano doesn't serve any beans other than refried, so, no option for black beans, pinto or borracho. The shrimp in the dish were perfect, the chicken was dried out and there were about 6 little strips of steak. The grilled onions and peppers were very good. My wife's shrimp dish was very salty. She prefers the interpretation of Shrimp Mexicana at others Mexican restaurants. And for good measure, because we asked for some lime to squeeze on the shrimp and they tacked on $2 to the bill. But what really resulted in my barely average review was the cleanliness of El Mexicano; or rather, the lack of it. You'll notice a yellow bucket that hangs on the wall in the dining room, yes, in full sight of diners. I witnessed a server drop something on the floor, grab a cloth from the bucket and clean the floor. Then, she returned the cleaning cloth to the bucket. Moments later, another server used the same cloth to clean tables! The health department would have a hissy fit if they saw this. Worse, when I mentioned this to the manager, he was indifferent. I know he understood me, he just didn't care. If the manager is so indifferent to such an obvious health hazard, I can't fathom what goes on in the kitchen. El Mexicano is a "one and done" for us.

But I felt La Lupita had slipped a bit. Initial service was excellent, we were greeted and seated promptly. Drinks were served and our order was taken. But once the food was brought to the table, our server was nowhere to be found. Refill for ice tea? Nope. We ordered one set of corn and one set of flour tortillas and got two orders of corn. It took us quite a while to find the server to get the error corrected. The complementary chips and salsa were way off. The chips were stale and they switched to a green salsa. Admittedly, a personal preference, but I liked the red better. My wife enjoyed her usual- camarones Mexicano. Served sizzling and perfectly done. I don't recall the mixed fajitas (my usual) as being so greasy. Again, served hot. Lots of peppers, onions, & grilled tomatoes. No jalapeños. I could have asked for some as a side and I'm sure they would accommodate. I also found it odd that La Lupita doesn't offer any beans other than refried. We asked for black beans or pinto or borracho. They're not offered. Yet they were able to serve refried black beans instead of the usual borracho or pinto refried version. Prices, inevitably, were up since our last visit. La Lupita is still a favorite for authentic Mexican food. We just caught them on an off day and it was still way ahead of most Mexican restaurants.

They start you with these funky fried crisps. No salsa or pico-but on the bright side you don't fill up with chips. Good thing, because the portions are ginormous! It's rare I can't finish a meal, but my shredded beef with mole was more than enough for a takeout box. I ordered the platter, so my meal came with rice and refried beans. We had the leftovers for lunch the following day. My wife ordered two alacart items. Shrimp cerviche and a chicken taco. Both well prepared. And as a side bonus, the tortillas were outstanding. I'm not a fan of corn tortillas, but these home made gems had flavor and didn't fall apart like packaged ones. Same with the crispy corn shells for the tostada. Great crunch and real flavor. Beer was served cold along with a frosted mug and a slice of lime. Everything is made to order. One fella was the chief, cook & bottle washer. And waiter. Thei give you a complimentary savory broth with hints of seafood flavor and potatoes which is a welcoming opening. The flavor was excellent the tostadas are like home made non commercial, loved them. There is parking on the front and on one of the sides of the place. The team was quick with food, attentive to all needs and very professional and friendly. And the price value is amazing. My order was taken down wrong and I ended being given something entirely different. They did end up making it correct for me. The horchata I ordered was really good and one of the better ones I've had from a place. My server was nice despite taking down my order entirely wrong. The interior is nice.
