Be prepared, to wait a bit for your order, but trust me when I say it is worth it. This place is relatively small, and space is limited. I would suggest getting there early on Sundays, because it fills up quickly. They offer 2 or 3 tables outside on a covered porch so you can enjoy the weather if you'd like. Inside will probably hold 30 people give or take. Kind of condensed if that makes sense You have to ask for salsa and chips, etc. unlike most Mexican joints, so don't forget to ask. They won't just bring it to you. Most of those things are a la carte. You can tell the chips are homemade. Might need to add a bit of salt to the chips. I've been to this place a handful of times. I believe my favorite tacos are the Barbacoa or the Al pastor. (Don't let the word lamb scare you off) They also have several authentic Mexican ingredients, spices, and other grocery items for sell in here as well. Be sure to check those out before leaving.

Like a cafeteria. Advice: darken like casa Mexicana. Sat at the bar. Seats super tacky with their names. Too bright and need more booths. Chips. Better than el charro and casa grande. Crunchy crispy without being too thick. Cheese dip. Better than el charro. Thicker. And much bigger bowl for same price. Why are restaurants to super cheap with cheese dip Serving sizes? It can't be that expensive. This place does cheese dip right. Service. Super amazing. As good as casa mexicana. And so much better than el charro. El Charro service has begin to suck. Margaritas so many flavors of frozen which is my favorite. Casa mexicana great reg margarita. El charro super mango margarita. This place great strawberry marg and cheaper than the others. Food. Husband had tacos beans and rice. Super average. Below quality of el charro. Me. I had the rice and grilled veggies and mushrooms. I have to say. Better than el charro. Would go back again. Primarily for service. And next chips and cheese dip. Next margaritas. And lastly food. No

This particular food truck sits in a liquor store's parking lot and is proof positive that the best Mexican food does not come from high-end restaurants, but rather these humble little places. The service here was very friendly and the food was made in no time flat. I we t with their birria taco and their French fries with steak. Both were amazing. I will give a little ding here, on the French fries with the steak, the jalapeño peppers were obviously jarred. I would have preferred freshly sliced and hit on the flat grill for a moment. Another, their sauces came in packets. Again, this place is amazing, but fixing those two small items would have made here amazing squared. Again, it is a food truck, so there was no seating. However, I took my food to the Columbus River Walk and enjoyed my meal there. I would definitely recommend the Taco Amigo and I give it five stars overall. Go see for yourself.

But I thought that wasn't how reviews should go. So then in my head I started justifying all the ways I could make this 5 star. But - it just wasn't. My food was...okay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It was a cool place with grocery items in addition to the restaurant. I'll go back. I'm a sucker for hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants. But my carne asada is probably 3 star. However, the salsa that came with our chips and salsa order was fire! Fresh, spicy, flavorful, colorful. The meal was expensive and just all right. But we shall return I suspect.

Food was fine, the experience and just the vibe was pretty cool. Exceptionally friendly and attentive staff. I'll definitely come back but will probably go with something more "basic" like tacos or a burrito. I had chilaquiles with steak and egg. Eggs were cooked exactly how I asked (over medium). As often occurs the cut of meat for the steak isn't the best cut of steak on the cow so while it wasn't chewy and gristly it wasn't tender and juicy either. Same with the wife's carne asada - we've both had better steaks at other Mexican places around here. The pork rind wagon wheels (I think that's what they were) were good but we got an order of chips and salsa as well ($5.99!!!) because one of the kids wasn't going to touch those wagon wheels no way no how. The salsa is very good - it's the red and the green mixed with pico de gallo and is quite spicy. All in all the experience and the vibe of the place was better than the food but I'm hopeful some different things off the menu would lead to a better eating experience. Don't get me wrong, the food was fine just not great and with the total bill hitting 95 bucks it wasn't worth that. But I will be back to try the street tacos or burritos.
