Wonderful service. The manager gave us coupons and was very courteous when they ran out of something. The staff were chill and were willing to live and let live, unlike the mask karens across the street. read more

Taco Bell - Fast Food Near Me - Ames, Iowa

Food is typical as you would expect from Taco Bell. The service is INSANELY SLOW. Some waits in the drive through might exceed 30 minutes. Only visit if you have an unlimited amount of time to spend. read more

Me, My boyfriend and his cousin went to this Taco Bell after we left Boone super nationals on 9/8 and we went through the drive through. When we got to the speaker to order my boyfriend told the lady working the drive through the first part of his order in the middle of his order she told him to wait a minute she had another customer to deal with then comes back and asks him what else we needed and he told her the rest and also told her we were going to have a second order and she says "oh no we are not doing this your not going to take 3 minutes to order and then tell me you have a second order you going to have to come inside or go back around and order again" I did not know that there was a time limit on how long your order could take and it was very rude the way she said it. So we pulled around and my boyfriend went inside to talk to a manager turns out the lady that was being rude was the manager so my boyfriend asked for her boss and they said for him to call corporate. While he was inside she was being rude to all the other customer/worker cussing at them and being just straight up rude. That is terrible customer service. I do not recommend you eat here. We are not from Iowa we are from Oklahoma but I would recommend you to find a different location or just a different restaurant in general. read more

Waited over a hour for food in drive through. I even ordered online and when I asked for a cash refund for my food when they told us they closed 15 minutes early I was called rude and told to shut up. Not the first time I've had this experience and when I do get food it's always missing something. Don't recommend coming here unless you want to be disappointed. read more

My friend went here and got screamed at by the staff. They screwed up her order and instead of trying to fix it, the staff just told her to take it. The food itself was thrown together horribly and looked like a hot mess compared to what your order normally should look like, which caused it to leak through the bag. After that, another person we were with went in to confront the staff, but the staff wasn't even taking her order in the first place. No restaurant should ever treat customers this bad. read more

Slow food. Not fast at all. Even with their lobby closed. Been in the drive through for 20 minutes.

Friendly service, however my burrito wasn't completely wrapped with the tortilla and neither was my grande crunchwrap and there was no meat on my crunchwrap either, extremely disappointed and if I lived in that town I'd drive back and get my money back. read more

went at 9:15am. store is *supposed* to open at 8. no response in the drive through and both front doors were locked. guess i'll take my business to taco john's ‍ read more

Have always had mixed service at this location but will no longer be a customer at this location. Frequently have messed up my orders and today after dropping off my car at the shop next door, waited at the counter for 10 min. Had enough time to search for and download a service bell app, still nobody, and finally looked up the store phone number to call them and got an answer. All 4 employees we outside on the side of the building having a smoke break and figured they would notice anyone enter the building. I love your food Taco Bell but you need to fix this location pronto. Update 12/21/2018 have since gone back 3 times after hearing that new management has been hired at this location. Still not great, 2 out of 3 visits they have still screwed up my orders. read more

Had a uber-eats order that took too long to come. went to go get it from the in-store location and they told me they'd help and ended up waiting from 2:50 am to 3:30 am. They waited me out so they didn't have to deal with me. read more

It's Taco Bell. The place seems clean and the food tasted like Taco Bell is supposed to taste. The drive thru was on the slow side. read more

Do not place an order through the app. It will say that it is done when it is not. Also you have to go through the drive through which defeats the purpose of the mobile order. Staff did not communicate with any of the people waiting inside for over 40 minutes. Staff also could work on manners. read more

firstly, I used to work at Taco Bell and it was not a good environment. it was very toxic, because the new management wasn't polite. every order from DoorDash has a missing item, or the food is cold. this is not the dashers fault, and Taco Bell should consider better management. I understand things happen sometimes, we all make mistakes but it's every order they mess up or miss something. the workers need better training with customer service as well, I called the store to get an update on my current order, and the person on the other end of the phone was snippy with his responses. I was also annoyed, but I have a reason and as a worker you should always have customer service no matter what. read more

okay yeah it's taco bell. it's exactly what i was expecting. slow a$$ drive thru, meh food, lobby full of $t0ners. 10/10. perfection.

Terrible customer service, yelled at my friend and gave her the wrong order. The food they gave her was bad and very greasy.

The man who took my order was very rude and short with me. I've never experienced service like this here before and I was so disappointed.

My husband waited in the drive thru for over an HOUR today, this is completely unacceptable!! I asked why he didn't just leave, as you may be asking yourself. Once you're in the line there is no way out! You're stuck...for an HOUR! He was late for work. If there isn't enough staff, please do not open. Never again.. read more

The guy giving us our food asked us to scan the receipt and give him a good review saying "CJ gave us good service" and then didn't give us the fire sauce we asked for twice read more

Terrible experience. took an absurd amount of time to get through the drive through. Then we were missing several times from the order. When we went back to let the employee know, she said she was aware that we were missing items because she forgot to put them in the bag. She then said she would not give us any refund, for the missing items, nor would she give us a replacement. She was rude through the whole interaction and the whole experience makes me never want to go to taco bell again. read more

took over 30 minutes to get food and when we got it half of the orders were wrong and the shells and tortillas were stale

Ok Taco Bell you're the next ok next to Del Taco that I like your service in story city sucks they can never get it right they need to get their speaker fixed for one thing and they close early they don't have breakfast or not even open in the morning I'd actually like to get it there it's closer to where I live but I have to get it a half hour away from my house by the time I get it home to my husband it's cold and you change your menu prices every time I come in and tell me you have this one day and the next day you will give it to me for what your menu says. Aims Taco Bell I get off and come here for lunch one day in your clothes because you don't have any enough people working in the middle of the day really who does that and then you get new people at your window and you ask for a dollar bean burrito but no you know you can only get a burrito bean with rice what the heck you can take the rice out I miss Del Taco they also had green hot sauce it was delicious and didn't fight me on my dollar bean burrito if I wanted it oh and another thing waiting 10 minutes in line for our meals that's ridiculous come on step it up higher more people people are on lunch they only get a half hour sometime so you guys need to step it up and make it happen this is called fast food not dining in I've been sitting in the drive thru for the last 10 minutes what's going on read more

Taco Bell - Fast Food Near Me - Ames, Iowa

It should reiterate prior to my review that this is a Taco Bell. It's a cost-savvy, fast food establishment. It was not built to be a 5-star Hispanic-Fusion restaurant with a maître d' and reservation list days long. I wanted to emphasize this point because I'm reviewing this place based on that being common knowledge. That being said, this Taco Bell has shown has been a tried and true example of how fast food restaurants can still amplify a positive dining experience through customer service and clean food preparation. My experiences with the Ames Taco Bell have primarily been through the drive-thru in later evenings. My wife is a big fan of them and so I'll often stop there on my way home when I have to work later than normal. There has not been one instance while doing this where the employee has made me as if I have just wasted there time. Every time I stop I'm greeted appropriately and pleasantly. This attitude is carried throughout the entire transaction. I will note, there are certain times of the day that the line can back up, but with only one window, being popular, and with great retention of customers - it's easy to forgive. The menu is standard, and expected. They offer the full range of Taco Bell's essential, specialty, and light-eating items. There isn't really much to say in terms of their food - it's Taco Bell - you know what to expect. I will say from the standpoint of being able to vie w the kitchen, it's very well kept up. There never appears to be that greasy, "fastfood-esque", vibe to it. It's always well-lit and viewable from inside and drive-up. The customer is able to see their food being prepared. That cleanliness transfers to the employees. It does vary from person-to-person, but in an overall they do exceed that generalized subpar employee hygiene. This not to say other places don't meet simple standards, but I have definitely seen worse. I have not spent much time inside, but when I have, it's been fine. I have given this Taco Bell 5-stars based on my expectations of this type of place, and previous experiences with other, not as pleasing places for a quick meal. I commend them on their effort for an upbeat customer service (even during late hours), their fresh (to the natural limits of fast food) preparation, and the cleanliness. Any Ames native can tell you, when the original Taco Bell closed there was unexpected cry for the city that only a 3-minute chalupa could fill. I believe the new one has replaced that cry with a Dorito-dusted smile. Good work! read more

Jacob was able to fix our fiery supreme taco mess up. Thank you for the fast and friendly service!

The company who bought the Iowa stores SUCK. Food quality used to be there as well as Guest service. The previous owner obviously cared, but now the company "Perfect Tacos" (LOL) don't care about anything but the bottom dollar, they serve messy nasty tasting food. I WILL NEVER eat at any Taco Bell in central Iowa again read more

I've only been to this location twice. The first time I was stuck in the drive-thru for 40+ minutes and only ordered a shredded chicken burrito and now (my second time to this location) I'm writing this review while currently stuck in the drive-thru going on 20 minutes and I'm not even up to the window yet. Completely ridiculous.... Do not stop here if you need to be anywhere anytime soon. Once you get into the drive-thru line there's now way out...so you'll be stuck in line until you get your food. read more

I asked for hot sauce MANY times, but sadly received zero hot sauces,:(. Although I understand there are many snooping requests, I gotta just get this one filled. read more

Worst Taco Bell I've ever eaten at. You would think that making a burrito without having half of the contents outside of the tortilla wouldn't be too hard. read more

Very slow and disorganized. Customers waited an absurd amount of time to even order. Our group waited 40 minutes after ordering and still received no food. read more

You get what you pay for. Many of the employees are very nice, but there's about a 50% chance that your order will be incorrect in some way. Once there was meat on the outside of my veggie burrito (which was missing guac too). Today I ordered the triple layer nachos, add jalapeños, and they forgot my beans. Last time I ordered the nachos, they gave me the wrong sauce. The receipt lists my order correctly, it's just not made right from the ticket. My suggestion is to check your order before you leave the parking lot. read more

This Taco Bell is so awful. We've been in the drive thru for literally 30 minutes. And we haven't even pulled up to the window yet. Absolutely ridiculous. Somebody needs to tell this location to shape the fuck up read more

OK- so it used to be that you never knew if your order was gonna be correct or not. That seems mostly resolved. But the wait now...like insanely long. Hard to call this fast food when you have to sit in the drive-through for 15-20 min. On the regular. read more

This is the most pathetic Taco Bell I've ever been to. I have been multiple times where they seem to be out of everything, including essentials like cheese, beef, beans etc. I have been other times where the drive thru took upwards of 30 minutes. Why do I continue to go back? The Taco Bell name gives me hope of tasty, cheap food. read more

The worst Taco Bell I have ever been to. It always closes earlier then it is supposed to and they always find a way to mess at least one thing up in your order. 0/10 would not recommend. read more

11pm on a Saturday and it's closed. Not the first time this has happened either. Staff were inside and drive through wasn't even open.

Terribly slow. Installed this app and writing this review while stuck in drive through. Has been a half hour so far, if there was a way out I would take it, but unfortunately there isn't. Never again. read more

I've been here three times now. Ask through the drive through, so I can't sleek about inside service. Outside however...... I don't know if I've been going at the wrong times or what, but I've waited 15+ minutes everytime, I'm pretty sure that's not the taco bell standard. Food is the same though read more

It amazes me that this place consistently takes 20 minutes or more to complete a simple order. This statement is true whether you're in the drive thru or dine in. The first time it happened I was willing to write it off as the crew having an off night. The second did it for me and I decided I was done with them. I gave in tonight when the rest of the family apparently had an overwhelming desire for mediocre Mexican food and had a third consecutive experience of a ridiculous wait. Management needs to get this store whipped in to shape. read more

I know I shouldn't expect much since it is Taco Bell, but the service here is pretty slow for being considered fast food. Waiting over 20 minutes for a few items when the restaurant isn't busy is concerning. The staff just seem lost after you place your order. Maybe they are just understaffed or under managed, or maybe a bit of both. I would explore other options unless things make a drastic change. read more

This location sucks. The Management is even worse. The service is slow most of the time. read more

The food was excellent that is the only reason for the 1 star, but the service was slow. Your drive thru employee had the most unpleasant attitude ever. For starter when she handing out my order the way she handed it to me it was like she was throwing it at me. Secondly, I have never had problems with your cashiers of being friendly and offering to take the empty cup of ice and throwing it away or even if it had a little liquid in it. They would say "sure I'd be happy to take that for you and throw it away for you.", that is what keeps me coming back here when your cashiers are nice and friendly. Thirdly, she did not have to be rude the way she talked to me, even other restaurants treat their customers friendly and go out of their way by offering to throw the cup away. Finally, who taught your cashier to be rude by slamming the window and talking about a guest rudely while they're still in the drive thru. I love your food but if she talks like that to guests, or about guests, or hands out bags: I think I can go somewhere else like Taco John's. read more
