I am a huge fan of TB in Vienna and Falls Church, but the one in Springfield was really shitty (excuse my language). I was really excited to try another Taco Bamba, especially since each location has different tacos. My husband and I came here for lunch at around 11 am with maybe 2-3 people in front of us. Employee who took our order looked half awake or pissed off, and was busy preparing to go containers and asked me to repeat some of the tacos. (Yes, I know every TB has loud rock music playing...) We must have waited 20 minutes for four tacos! I mean, I've been in longer lines at the Vienna and Falls Church locations and received my orders faster than that. The space was definitely larger, but seating was tight as usual with the uncomfortable stools. We moved towards the bar seating where the bartender kind of gave us a look. I asked if it were OK to sit down and he just nodded his head. Sorry for the inconvenience. We ended up ordering a horchata to sip while waiting for our tacos, and he literally packed it with ice. It was $3.18 for this tiny cup. Maybe 1/3 was horchata and he didn't even fill it up all the way. I felt as if I couldn't even mention something to him because he was too preoccupied telling folks they can't sit at some of the reserved seating spots around the bar. Tacos. We ordered the Vic-Fil-A, Coco Loco Shrimp, Tupac (special), and Crispy Fish. They all were pretty awful. Vic-Fil-A had some unnecessary ingredients such as the bacon and the pickle which overpowered the whole taco/quesadilla (and I don't mind pickles on my Chic-Fil-A sammiches). Coco Loco had so much coconut batter, I couldn't even taste the shrimp. Tupac taco had an awful burnt salsa taste and the fries were soggy (bad choice on our end maybe). Crispy Fish taco was all fish, but where TF was the fish? Warning sign was all over the name of the taco. Heh heh. I am glad we tried this location. However, that is the first and last time. We will stick to Vienna, and possibly try Fairfax. read more

The location is not ideal, the chick-fil-a drive thru is all you see and the parking lot is constantly jammed with cars. Also, the music is insanely loud, like I have to yell so the cashier can hear my order. The tacos are great! I've had the carnitas and carne asada tacos multiple times here. Also, the specialty tacos like the Taco Bamba is great as well. The guac sucks and the tortas are VERY greasy. I wouldn't recommend anything other than the tacos to be honest. The staff...they're trying their best I guess. I don't expect much from them. Overall I would order from this place, but only takeout. Also make sure to double check that you got all the items from your order, I've had several instances where they don't put everything in your order. read more

This place has potential to be a 5* taco joint! The Al pastor tacos are done very well and the tortillas are great!! They fell short on the churros that were over cooked, the tres leches dip was fantastic but it's very difficult to work because they serve small churros in a small Dixie style cup and it takes work to get to the tres leches after you've bitten into the small churro. The nacho chips were over cooked as well the Guacamole was bland with zero flavor. The 90's hip hop playing was a neat change up from the typical Mexican restaurant. Place has real potential, would've given it 3* had it not been for the tacos that were very well done. Hope to see Improvements to give this place 5*'s read more

Taco Bamba - Carne asada tacos, Camaron, Barbacoa, Quesadilla & Grilled street corn - Tacos Near Me - Springfield, Virginia

The bottom line: taste-a-licious tacos, tortas, and todos, but a bit cramped during lunch rush. I've been to Taco Bamba--here and in falls church-- three or four times and it seems to keep getting better! I won't choose other fast taco options if this is nearby--even 20 min away. Execution is great, prices are reasonable, and salsas are delicious! Additionally, there are over the top extravagances like the torta Bamba, which is enough for a family of four--at least--and stuffed with every possible ingredient. Doused with the chili d arbol and green salsas a portion of this massive sandwich was super satisfying after a Saturday stroll. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and a variety of tacos. read more

This place is f**king awesome. I'm from San Diego and have searched the east coast since I got here looking for the best Carne Asada Fries compared to back home. Sadly, most taco shops on the east coast can't figure it out. Taco Bamba though, 10/10. Absolutely perfect. One bite and I turned into that depressed anemic art teacher lookin dude from Rattatouile. Stop reading reviews and just go here now! Also, their Al Pastor is actually Al Pastor. Not that shredded pork stuff I keep seeing out here. Thank you Taco Bamba. I've been back every weekend since I found you and will continue to do so. read more

Love the food here, they have breakfast and there's a nice little bar with happy hour specials.

Cool spot and good tacos! The variety of types of tacos made for great selection. Staff is cool and I seem to enjoy eating anytime I go.

Ate two tacos- Ricky Bobby and Hail to the Hog. Hail to the Hog is as good as it sounds. Also had the good fortune of sharing Torta Bamba with a friend because it was too much for him to eat. In my life of eating sandwiches, the Torta Bamba is top 3 all time. So much meat! Amazing. Flavorful, filling, delicious. Parking was plentiful and the staff was nice. Music was a bit loud for lunch. read more

Taco Bamba - Tacos Near Me - Springfield, Virginia

I've been to Taco Bamba before (DC location). I got the black squid nachos and was underwhelmed by how salty and soggy they were. I came to the Springfield location in hopes of redemption. I can't say that there was, but I also admit that I probably ordered the wrong things. I came hungry and left full, but I wasn't blown away. I did have some delicious tacos and others that were substandard. Unfortunately I don't remember the names of most of the tacos and they have since changed their menu (which is a good sign!! Maybe their current offerings are delicious). If they offer the Vic Fil A, stay away... if you're that hungry for fried chicken and yummy sauce go to the Chick Fil A next door with the super long car line and get yourself a meal. It'll last longer (the Vic Fil A taco was done in like three bites) and it'll taste better (the Vic Fil A taco was missing a certain something... heck it was missing a lot of things.. just don't get it). There was this crispy shrimp taco that was to die for. Just amazing. If they have any menu item with crispy shrimp, get it, you won't be disappointed. I would come here again, because the DC location doesn't seem to switch up their offerings as much, (whereas the Springfield location seems to always have tantalizing options rotating every quarter), but given that Springfield, VA is a trek from where I live, it'll be a long time from now. If, however, you're in the area and in the mood for tacos, definitely give Taco Bamba a try. Confession: I'm looking at the menu options for Taco Bamba Springfield now and I'm so jealous... I wanna try the Robinson Ramen, Savage Submariner, Chilly Willy, Fairfax Four Way and Mr. Chow. Looks like I'll be back after all *insert crying emoji* I'll probably get stoned for saying this... but Señor Ramon Taqueria's tacos are infinitely better... But they're in Chantilly and that too is a trek. Le sigh maybe I should just move to NOVA... oh wait. HQ2 is coming. #abortmission #thatrenttho #trafficwillbethe7thcircleofhell Tl;dr - if you want tacos and care to experiment, come here.. it's like Russian Roulette, and you might end up with a few winners. If you want a consistently good experience, go to Señor Ramon. read more

REVIEW FOR COVID NEIGHBORHOOD DROPS: In addition to being my favorite tacos in the DMV, taco bamba now supports a personal neighborhood 'drop' if you're within their range (I'm in Potomac Yard which is about a 15 min drive from this location) and you get 5 or more orders. My neighborhood has used this option 3 times already during covid. You coordinate a drop date and time with taco bamba, give special ordering instructions to your neighbors so they can order and pay on their own, then there is just one property that receives all the seperately bagged and receipted orders. Each time I've done this, they've been 100% punctional - even with large orders (we had 15 last time i think!) Taco Bamba is an absolute treat in any circumstance, but Taco bamba delivered to my house?! Does it get better? read more

So glad Taco Bamba is in the Springfield area. The menu at Springfield is a little different from the Falls Church menu, but they serve delicious tasty tacos! They have a bar section in the middle of the restaurant, so it can be confusing were to order. I ordered the taco bamba special and the foo fighter which is fried fish. The tacos were really good. Taco bamba tasted the same as the other location. But to me, I think the foo fighter was missing aioli or something to bring all the components together. The fried fish was also on the smaller side and were cut into little pieces. I was expecting on big piece of fried fish. It was still good, just not what I had imagined. I would still come back and try the tortas and other tacos. read more

Taco Bamba - Beautiful tacos and an elote! - Tacos Near Me - Springfield, Virginia

Was put on to this spot by a coworker over a year ago. I'm not big on tacos so kinda blew off going, boy was I missing out out on this gem! Food is going to leave craving for more. Prices for the quality, freshness and depth of flavor is quite generous in my opinion. The Tripas traditional taco is fried tripe with green onion and cilantro. This taco needs NOTHING, it is perfect as is. Crunchy and well seasoned. The Rocky Bobby's green sauce puts the kick into this taco. The 3 chachos nachos doesn't need all the extra that comes with it in my opinion, if you get the meat the fried egg, with just regular toppings such as cilantro, sour cream, tomatoes etc you'll be more than satisfied. I couldn't give the place five stars as to be honest I didn't feel welcomed when I walked in. I've only ever gotten that feeling when I went to restaraunts in the deep south or up in Massachusetts somewhere. The meals came out quick, within 10 minutes. Solely based on the food, I would definitely recommend this to any taco lovers and folk looking for a taste of traditional nachos. read more

Pro: Excellent variety, great value. Easy order and take out. Great tacos. I also liked the Cup o' Bamba. Cons: Tacos need to be consumed ASAP lest they become steamed and soggy in their containers. Loud music can be really annoying. read more

Great taco place!! This place has amazing tacos that you can order a la carte. We love the Mall Rat nachos, which are only available at the Springfield location due to its relative proximity to the Springfield Town Center. Perhaps controversial but my favorite taco -- for any time of day -- is their "breakfast taco." The only downside is that the parking lot is usually a navigate to enter, navigate, and exit when Chick-Fil-A is open (so come to Taco Bamba on Sundays or order using their free delivery service!). Also, I often wish there were microphones for customers ordering in-person and for the cashiers taking orders because the loud music (even without masks during pre-covid times) makes it really hard to hear anything. Overall, though, I feel very lucky to have a Taco Bamba location so close by in Springfield. read more

Tacos were bigger than anticipated! Definitely filled me up! They were stingy like most tacos places. Worth checking out if you're a taco lover like myself One thing I do have to mention is the really loud music made it hard for my mom and I to communicate our order to the cashier. Besides that they have a really cool bar in the middle of the restaurant! read more

Taco Bamba - Carne Asada (top) Tinga basically stewed chicken (middle) Barbacoa (bottom) - Tacos Near Me - Springfield, Virginia

We came here on a Monday evening and we were able to order right away because there was no one ahead of us. It was my first time here, so I was unsure what I wanted... and it didn't help with the impatient young lady tapping her long fingernails on the register making me feel rushed. So service here is whatever. The tacos were good but not great nor lives up to the hype. Even though the tacos were double corn tortilla, the grease would still seep through it. So, it's a bit on the greasier side for my liking. Also, I personally don't like the street corn because I think there was way too much seasoning on it. Overall, the food is okay but this place would not be the first place that comes to mind for me. However, if we do return - we will give the tortas a try. read more

Here are some things that I enjoy. Meats A Variety Of Said Meats Tacos Including The Variety Of Said Meats Oh hey Taco Bamba! I was a little skeptical about this place. I usually find the best tacos are at the dirtyiest little holes in the wall or on a truck. So a place with a "head chef" and a unique menu had me a little worried. However when I saw they make tacos the best way (with onions and cilantro), they offered a variety of meats, and they didn't throw any nasty pico or guac or sauce on them (you can add your own salsa and hot sauce from the sauce bar), I was feeling a lot more optimistic. Now they do have a varied menu of items and some interesting take on tacos, but luckily for me they also have the simple tacos. They cost $3 a piece which is quite high for a taco, but after eating them I think it is worth it. This is way better than Cafe Rio and District Taco and Baja Fresh. So when I say a variety of meats I don't mean Chicken or Beef. They have other choices like Chorizo, Beef Tongue and even beef intestine. And while some of those sound gross, They were awesome. I had those 3 as well as a barbacoa and a carne asada. I enjoyed all of them and you'll never guess my #1 seed...crispy beef intestine...(Im a VERY picky eater too) Also to note, my tacos were ordered and then ready within a minute...I was there after the lunch rush. And it is in the WORST shopping center in the world. Beware getting hit, getting stuck behind a car waiting to park for 7 minutes or not finding a spot at all. The place also has a bar so if it wasn't in an awful location in the awful industrial district of Springfield, it would be a cool place to hang out...but you won't find me there after sundown. The other locations are probably better (Vienna & Falls Church). So, I had a great experience here. I like the set up. I like the vibe. I like the variety. I like the taste and quality of the meats. I like that they aren't super soggy and aren't covered in nasty toppings. The only downside is the cost is a little high. But its kind of like an upscale taco. I'd still prefer a $1 carne asada taco from a taco truck, but this is definitely a taco experience worth checking out multiple times. As Arnold would say, "I'll be back" ... GET TO THE CHOPPA!!! read more

We have been here 3 times since it opened and each time has been worse than the time before. This time the food was so brutally salty it was nearly inedible. Any nuance was lost and all 5 items we ordered were the same way. Whoever is making the sauces, marinades, and soups must either have dead taste buds or doesn't taste the food. I thought about talking to the manager but he was goofing around with the staff. This place had a lot of promise but it has gone off the rails. What a waste. read more

Love the Clubber Lang Taco. Best one I've tried so far. Staff was great and service was speedy. I definitely recommend trying them out.

Tacos were bomb! I decided to go vegetarian my first time at taco bamba and got two spicy shroom and one eggplant taco. I would definitely order those again. The mushroom taco was spicy but not to the point that my mouth was on fire. Now I'm curious about the tacos with meat in them. I also had the El presidente cocktail which was a nice twist on a Moscow mule which is my fav drink. I'll have to try a margarita next time. My friend said hers was good. The service was good and it wasn't super packed right after happy hour on a Friday. read more

I have heard whispers that Taco Bamba has amazing Tacos. I had to investigate and find out for myself. My husband and I decided to try them for a Saturday lunch. The place was packed. I took this as a very good sign. We were greeted by the Red Hot Chili Peppers blaring through the speakers. It was a little irreverent and set an expectation that this would be anything but ordinary, boring Tex-mex. There were so many choices! I really wanted to try them all! I settled on an Al Pastor Taco and a coco Loco Shrimp Taco. My husband ordered a Coco Loco as well as a Taco Bamba Taco. The flavors made me pause. All the flavors at play were just perfect. This isn't your typical "one note" taco. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. We tried the Mallrat nachos with our meal. It filled a craving. They were flavorful and fun. The bacon and pickled onions really add a nice dimension to the nachos. I am already planning to go back with my whole family. I know they will love it. Given our first experience, I am excited to explore more of the menu. read more

I want to like Taco Bamba more, I truly do, but I was left a little disappointed on my first visit here. I had two tacos (carne asada and al pastor) that night, and I remember just feeling meh about both of them. Both were rather underseasoned, and I wasn't fan of the fact that the carne asada pieces were just large strips. It was difficult to eat is probably the reason why the flavors/seasoning didn't really come through. The al pastor was marginally better in terms of taste, but it wasn't enough to salvage the meal. My boyfriend I also split the chips + guacamole, and the guacamole was truly a travesty. Your girl loves avocado in all forms, so I was saddened to bite into a tasteless, overly chunky guacamole. Sigh. As someone who loves hot sawce and will gladly swim in a pool of hot sawce, I very much appreciated their little hot sauce bar where you can load up on some fiery liquid to dress up your taco. I most definitely will be coming back to Taco Bamba again for a subsequent visit (cuz I want some marggggs!) as I feel like there's so much I have yet to try. Until then! read more

Food is always amazing! Service is quick and on point! Nice atmosphere to sit inside, at the bar, or order to go!

LOVE Taco Bamba. This is a favorite of the folks in my office. It's a toss-up for me to come to this location in Springfield versus the location in Falls Church. The challenge with this location is it's in the same plaza as a popular fast food chicken restaurant with cows all over it, and there's always a HUGE traffic jam to get in and out of that parking lot. If I have the time, I will drive a little extra distance to the Falls Church location where there is ZERO traffic. Then again, I better have a little extra time to come to this location in order to fight through the CFA traffic. NOTE: You don't have to wait in the long line of cars on Backlick Road that are all going to the CFA. Go to the next parking lot entrance up by Outback Steakhouse and then drive around the BACK of the strip mall and you will bypass all the CFA traffic and end up right next to Taco Bamba. Since COVID, I have particularly enjoyed that I can place an order on the Taco Bamba website, and they will bring it out to my car in the parking lot. Pay special attention to some of the customizable options in the online menu. I discovered I LOVE the steak tacos "dirty" (with grilled onions, cheese, and sweet chili sauce) which is one of the options you can click in the customization sub-menu. I also love their Al Pastor tacos (pork and pineapple). They have a good variety of salsas, too - thick, flavorful, and with kick. read more

I ordered six tacos "to-go" due to the ban on dining rooms. I had a mix of fried fish, chorizo, steak and chicken tacos. It was amazing, as always. The best sauces and tortillas around. I also so appreciated how easy the online ordering process was during this time. I was also greeted in the parking lot with our food from a server-so there was no need for me to go into the restaurant. The server was wearing gloves that he immediately tossed after handling our food and got a new pair. Again, so appreciated how much of an effort they are going to in order to ensure safety. Amazing food. Fantastic service. A great place to stop by and support local business! read more

I ate at a lot of places while I was out on maternity leave, but one of the best places was definitely Taco Bamba's new Springfield location. They've improved upon their concept with a bar and expanded seating area, and the menu offers dishes that you can't get at their Falls Church location, which makes it super fun and worth it to visit them both! (Hint: they have NACHOS!) I tried the Coco Loco Shrimp taco, which was BOSS and I would 100% order again in multiples, the Gringa, which as a, well, gringa, I definitely enjoyed, haha, and the Foo Fighter (fish taco), which had a serious kick, but I thought that the Black Pearl fish taco at the FC location is better, tbh. The only issue is if you come here during peak lunch or dinner hours, you're going to have to contend with the backed up drive-thru line for the Chick-Fil-A (they're in the same shopping center), so parking might be a little bit of an extra hassle. read more

Food is always great. There are a couple of locations coming open in Kingstowne. We would love to have a Taco Bamba!!

Food looks great and I am sure it is. Took takeout and haven't tried yet. But is there really a reason for the cashier to yell "NEXT IN LINE" when I am just 6 feet away waiting patiently?
