This is what I had: Yang Chow fried rice Qt. $8.75 Boneless Chicken (breaded) w. Veggies in brown sauce $10.50 Chicken Soup w. Mai Fun noodles $5.65 The attentive and friendly clerk served my friend and I 2 steamed dumplings that the cooks had just finished preparing as a welcome to the restaurant gesture. She also greeted the next customer by surname! Now if only the sit-down joints around SI had such good service... This is my reaction: The fried rice was made with white meat chicken, ham, and shrimp - cooked without soy sauce so it was low sodium, and white in color. Excellent dish! There were 2 breaded and fried chicken breasts served on a bed of sauteed veggies in a lightly sweet brown sauce. Yummy! The soup's bland taste was more a testament to the fresh ingredients and lack of MSG. I won't complain, but you could always add some soy sauce if you need it. I will be trying out the rest of their menu in the future. I'm glad I found this place. Cash only. It's take out only but you may have guessed that from their name. Delivery Hours differ as noted: Tues-Fri 5pm-10pm Sat-Sun 1pm-10pm

The best Chinese on the Island! No doubt about it!

It's okay nothing to write home about. My husband said the beef and broccoli tasted fishy so he didn't like it

The service and food was good. The pork fried rice didn't taste like normally it does. I recommend this takeout. I really liked the service.

No!!!! New ownership! The food is not nearly as good. This breaks my heart after growing up on tacks.

Came here with my boyfriend a few months ago! I actually see his review on here lol…read more Food is fresh, hot and delicious, with really good portions! (I say hot because I burnt my mouth taking my first bite haha...) I ordered the Beef Lo Mein, which was good but different from other lo meins I usually order because it had a more soupy sauce! I also got their iced Lychee Green Tea with Regular sugar, which I loved. Service was very fast and the inside of the place was nice and clean! 10/10 Would come back!

That's when we found Lion Dance in Staten Island. Honestly, I didn't expect much because this place is on Staten Island. I've lived here my whole life, and to be real, not a lot of food spots here are that good. I usually go to other parts of NYC to eat. But BOY, WAS I WRONG. I got the pork soup dumplings, lotus leaf steamed rice with beef and broccoli, shrimp siu mai, and a mango green tea with medium sugar and mango jelly. Everything was so good! The biggest surprise was the lotus leaf steamed rice, it had so much flavor and went perfectly with the beef. The portion was big too. The soup dumplings were juicy, the siu mai were fresh, and the mango green tea was super refreshing. Service was quick, the staff was friendly, and the place was clean and nicely decorated. Overall, I loved the food, the vibe, and the service. Definitely coming back and if you're from Staten Island, trust me, this spot is worth checking out!

So happy we're not far from here cause I'll definitely stop in. Gives me the Chinatown feel without being in the city. They also serve roast duck which I'm a fan of and can't wait to try. Baked goods are delish. Pork buns are cold, but just throw them in the microwave when you get home, and they are sooo good. Staff is friendly and wanting to help. I'll be back for a dine in.

You enter and tables are right inside. This is probably one of the first most authentic Cantonese places I come across on the island. It is unique in a sense that it tries to accomplish so much and accommodate many populations at the same time. I can't tell you if I should call it a restaurant or cafe. For instance, right when you walk into the restaurant/cafe, you get a sense that if you want to sit down to eat and dine, you can expect services. Though, this is not typically how you'd feel if you were to walk into a Cantonese bakery. In a regular Cantonese cafe, you are not expecting services. Rather, you can buy a cup or milk tea or a Bao, and you can chill and gossip with your friends. To sum up, just know that you will get service if you are getting a meal here. The waitresses are incredibly nice and warm. In the left side of the room or straight ahead from the entrances, there are counters specifically for takeouts . I ordered 1lb roasted pork, Cheung fun, a honey tea, and a Bao. They are pricier than Manhattan and Brooklyn, however, all are incredibly delicious and authentic. I recommend it.

I was asking about reservation, they said it's not needed-the Jade Island is huge! But we called for a reservation... I was very skeptical from the start about Chinese cuisine-not my taste, but my friends repeated about old school, classic Chinese Food! At the start-yes, the place is huge! With different shape tables -from 2 to bigger for 10 and more... Surprisingly, there were still a lot of diners at that late time... I forgot Chinese food totally and opted for a safe option- Fried rice with shrimps- very tasty, not salty..huge portion-took home half of it. We ordered Tofu with veggies-crispy veggies, Bock Choi not over- or under cooked-perfect - and tofu-delicious and family size prefix for 2 -with soups/spring rolls and main-chicken... Size for 2 would definitely feed 3-5 people! Great service, very attentive; -spacious seats, nice ambience - and great prices! Would definitely go again, if my friends decide to eat there. Thank you, Jade Island staff!

This place is so nostalgic just for the decor alone, it makes me long for the good old days! This is as American as Chinese food can get, so if you're looking for authentic Chinese food, you need to go elsewhere. This place has big portions, great service, and caters to a more American dining experience with big tables for parties or even reunions. Non-negotiable items I have to get every time I'm here: - egg rolls - big and crispy - wonton egg drop mixed - the pieces of pork are HUGE - orange chicken - perfect white chicken meat every time! - chicken and broccoli - tried and true We usually come around 5PM on a Saturday to beat the rush and it works out perfectly that we don't need to make any reservations.
