I even got to try my hand at the wheel for a while! I absolutely loved this trip, especially since it was my early birthday gift to myself, and would just die to do it with friends or family next fall! Oh, and the final tally? After taking off the top shells and cleaning the crabs for us, I came home with a cooler chock full of 20.6 pounds of cleaned crab! The light tackle trips are nearly always limit fishing with a few to several crabs as well. Deep reef fishing is similarly successful. Salmon and albacore trips are less predictable - it is called fishing, not catching, and the tuna can be pretty demanding. These guys are the best. Terry on the gaff is a pleasure to see. I always feel safe with these guys, even crossing the infamous Columbia River bar. If you listen to what they say and pay attention to your rod you will catch fish. We've only gone a few times but every time we go the boat is filled with repeat customers. We've only gone for salmon but one of these days we're going to have to try them for sturgeon. Highly, highly recommend them. The motel rooms are very plain but get the job done and it's great to get up in the morning and only have to walk a few feet to drop our stuff in the car and then get out to the boat. You definitely want to make a reservation ahead of time to "sleep by the fleet." At the price of fresh caught salmon these days the trip practically pays for itself. Also be sure to bring layers (it WILL be cold in the morning but might get hot as the day goes on) and some kind of waterproof boots/footwear is advisable as water will come on deck in big swells when it's windy. Bring some drinks and snacks for the day but go easy on breakfast if there's any chance you get seasick. Finally make sure to bring plenty of cash to tip your deckhand!!

Our Captain, Nick Hernandez was fantastic. He took us out past Buoy 10. We caught our limits of salmon, plus a bunch of mackeral (They went back in the ocean!) on the way we retrieved the 3 crab pots that Nick set on the way out. Omg!! There were 86 crabs. We kept 42 of them!!!! We got back to shore by noon. The wonderful crew at the marina cleaned and fileted the salmon and expertly vacuum sealed them at a nominal extra fee. ...and, their crew steamed all 42 crabs in this huge pot that gets lowered into the boiling water at NO CHARGE!!! We couldn't believe it. We took our haul back to where we are staying and had a huge seafood fest!!! It was a great day from start to finish! Thank you for a fabulous experience!!!!!

We stumbled upon Warrenton Boat Yard and after meeting the owners Charles and Steve we scheduled it for repairs. They repaired all the damage to a level better than original. They also pointed out other items that we were unaware of that needed attention. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of maintenance or repairs. Bryan and Shoana McKelvey
