was at the Tack Room for a special event, at the same time as a major concert in their main venue. Maybe because of the other event (Everclear) things didn't run as smoothly as they claim is normal, but we had difficulty getting food. You cannot order food in the Tack Room. But there's a restaurant across the hall. They have a QR code on the bar at the Tack Room, but I had virtually no signal and couldn't get it to load. I tried to use their free wifi, but it required me to give them personal info and sign up for marketing with my email address, so I passed. We tried to order from the restaurant itself, and they said we could order online on their website, but that was only Door Dash. Finally we were able to place an order. Food was good, but hassle wasn't worth the wait. They have a few mocktails on the menu at Tack Room, but I tried to order the frozen pineapple option and they were out. Pepsi came in a can. But it's a cool space. They were very accommodating for the event. Maybe I'll have better luck the next time I visit. read more

This was EXACTLY what we were looking for this past Saturday night, a fun piano bar with solid drinks and good bar food. Sure, request-driven piano bars are not exactly new, but they're also simply not that common anymore. And this was one of the best I've been too, from Nashville and NYC and back. The piano player was extremely talented, blending in TLC and other hits of the 90s with mainstays like Piano Man and Paul McCartney. In fact, his range is very reminiscent of Wings-era McCartney, probably why he immediately hopped on my request of "Maybe I'm Amazed." The drinks and food are solid, not exactly mindblowing, but far superior to whatever you'd find in Wrigleyville. An absolute blast to hang here, can't wait to be back! read more

This is a great hidden gem attached to a number of other bar/restaurants. Every time we've gone, we had a blast with the live pianist - when we went last night, Laura Cai was playing and she was a ton of fun. She took so many requests, and if she didn't know a song, would work to find another song she did know that you wanted to hear. Drinks and ambiance are great. Hands down one of the best in Pilsen and the quaint piano bar vibe is one of the best in the city. Service is almost always slow which isn't a big deal as server/bartender are usually super nice and helpful so big deal. However, the service and attitudes have steeply declined. They seem annoyed when it's busy or if you order a bar cocktail vs the pre made stuff (one of the best bar cocktails in Pilsen but not a fan of their pre made options). The Tack Room opened up about a month ago and I was pretty excited because I love Piano bars but hadn't had time to check it out. I finally went last night and I absolutely loved it. The room isn't very big but there is a patio seating and various tables. We were able to sit around the piano . The decor is beautiful. They have a drink menu for the Tack room and you could also order some food. I stick to my usual fries and vodka tonic. The piano player was absolutely hilarious and she knew so many songs. I would suggest, getting a group of friends, having a drink and enjoy singing along. It's so much fun. Don't forget to bring dollars to tip, they do play for free but don't be a dick .. tip at least a dollar to hear your favorite song. read more

My husband and I walked into Dusek's at 6:45pm on a Saturday night, just hoping to get a seat at the bar. We were delighted to hear that the Tack Room was opening at 7! The Tack Room is candle-lit with just a small handful tables which makes it perfectly cozy. The menu is mostly small apps with 3 entrees: Oysters, Sausage Sandwich, and the Juicy Lucy. We ordered 2 Juicy Lucy burgers and a handful of cocktails. The burgers are cooked medium by default. This gives them a nice charred exterior and pink/red interior with cheese oozing out. My favorite part of the meal was the Beef Fat Fries that come with the burger. They were incredibly crunchy and perfectly salted. My only suggestion is to add a garlic aioli to the burger. It could benefit from something other than ketchup. I would return, especially if it were post-9pm when the music gets started! read more

I will note that the people's choice Irish Coffee was the one made by the Tack Room bartender (it was also my favorite). Only reason I deducted a star was because I didn't have any of the house cocktails (but I KNOW that will be remedied the next time I come in). The request ticket has 3 spots, though only one of mine was played (maybe it's a product of my tip? I thought $5 was fair enough at the time). Regardless, I love bars like this. And this piano player crushed it. Onto the drinks: $10 cocktails. And they were all delicious and creative. And for $10? Very fair. Not as much seating options (seems like a standing-heavy establishment) as I normally like. But given the company and conversation, I did not mind standing for once. So a buddy mentioned to check out Duseks. Ok I've been there, great brunch. FYI Friday night, parking is terrible to find. I did warn you. Anyways, I walk in Duseks, I go to the bar, my friends aren't there. I go to the other side of the restaurant, no one there. Where the hell are my friends? Apparently when you enter Duseks and you keep going straight through the doors, you will find the Tack Room. This place is a hidden gem. But maybe it isn't and I am just way behind the game. It's a piano bar with amazing atmosphere. If you want to take a girl on a date, I HIGHLY recommend this place. The lady playing the piano was great, very fun and created a great atmosphere. The cocktails were phenomenal and only $10! It wasn't that crowded but I believe there was a concert that ended above in the Thalia Hall and it got a bit packed for a bit but when the concert goers left, it was very comfortable again, not that it was ever not comfortable. If I have an opportunity to come back I definitely will. I hang out in Pilsen maybe twice a year but if there are more bars like the Tack Room I will definitely keep coming back or I'll just keep coming back here. What a place! read more

Love this spot. It's super fun and cute. I love going when it's not super packed so I can sit up at the bar. I haven't sat at the Piano before because, for whatever reason, I'm intimidated. The drinks are always on point here, and the staff is welcoming and friendly. The only reason there's a 4 and not 5 star review is because I cut myself pretty bad on a loose shard of glass at the bar and it was difficult getting anyone to help as my elbow was gushing all over the floor. I imagine this was a bit of a freak accident and not something you'd have to worry about in the future. I didn't realize the Tack Room was back here! I've been to this gorgeous building quite a few times for concerts (Thalia Hall), food (Dusek's) and drinks (Punch Bowl), but I guess the Tack Room is relatively new (~1 year?) We came here to check out the Lolla aftershow crowd and after snacking at Simone's down the street to have a couple of drinks. We tried Punch Bowl first, but it was pretty packed. We went upstairs to Dusek's. The bar was full and we didn't want a table to eat, so the hostess told us we should check out the back. We entered the Tack Room! What a lovely room! By the time we got there, the young woman playing was close to finishing her set on the piano and had about 20 minutes left. But she was super lively. All the chairs surrounding the piano were taken, and most of the bar was full, but the two tables near the entrance were empty, so we planted ourselves, had our beers and enjoyed the music! The decor was cool and everyone there was having a good time. It was a great way to end our evening. Can't wait to come back! read more

I stopped here because of an Eater article denoting the secret menu option of the Ace Burger. I've tried lots of burgers in Chicago and I will have to say this is the second best one in Chicago. That is an amazing feat considering how great the one at Au Chevaul is. It was a Friday night so we also got the benefit of a live piano player. Piano bars aren't necessairly my thing but at the same time it is a good bit of a change up especially with the cocktail caliber that you get here. It really made for the fantastic experience. One downside is that the only vegetrain options on the menu are a cheese stuffed pretzel, which is proably the best pretzel I've ever had. Let me digresss for a bit, I don't even like pretzels. I think the best thing for the world would be for every Auntie Anne's to spontaneously burned to the ground. However this pretzel made me a fan. Nice crispy exterior and warm goey cheese on the insde. The olives are the other great veg option. As far as the burger itself is concerned. It is a messy beast. That being said It was an enjoybable messy beast. The fried egg combined with pork riellettes to top of a juicy lucy is amazing. Not to mention that the quality of Sagel Farms beef stands out so that at beeef isn't lost. The smoky tomato bacon jam does an excellent job of replacing ketchup. The foie gras is something that makes this burger so over the top. The drinks are stiff and well mad and when I closed out my tab I thought I underpaid. I defintely will come back with a lot more popular songs in mind for the piano player. read more

I really love the atmosphere of the Tack Room and it's definitely a great place to relax and get a cocktail (before a show at Thalia Hall). The summer cobbler drink I got was so surprisingly good, I got two. This might seem like no big deal, but I'm a one-and-done kind of drinker thanks to inner ear medication. It was too hard not to resist a fruity, refreshing drink while sitting on the patio and just enjoying the summer and the piano. read more

The piano singer was DEFINITELY 4 or 5 stars, as was the general atmosphere. We walked in after dinner across the street at S.K.Y. and it was such a perfect way to end the night. We had so much fun singing along, and sitting at the piano. Everyone was so into it, and all song requests were at least attempted! The 3 stars come in due to the god-awful music that played after the pianist finished at 1. We'd gotten one more drink to finish the last few songs and when she finished it was some sort of music I can't even define that immediately gave me a headache. Moral of the story is don't get one more, I guess; not here anyhow. We also thought that the drinks were far too strong in flavor combinations. However, we also acknowledge that we are not huge liquor drinkers, so that may have been preventing us from enjoying some of these unique combinations. Just be sure you know what everything is in the drink before you order if you are like us and only drink cocktails every once in a while. Last night, as we waited for our table at Dusek's, my mom and I wandered into Tack Room (the new piano bar affiliated w/ duseks/punch house/thalia hall). It was early and at this point fairly empty. We were lucky enough to be greeted by the bar manager Bob, who was such a delight! He sat w/ us as we enjoyed our awesome cocktails (mixed by bartender, Jack - top notch margaritas) and talked to us about the space - which is something to be seen! One word, "Nathan". Ok you probably need more right? Came to celebrate a friends birthday last night forgetting that Derrick Carter was DJing in Punch House. I expected that staff would be overwhelmed, over worked etc. but despite the madness of Derrick Carter our group was still given an amazing experience thanks to Nathan who went out of his way to help us create a memorable birthday for our friend and doing it in the most friendly way possible. Had time to kill before a show at Thalia Hall, so Tack Room seemed to be a no-brainer. The decor was very cool with an eclectic western/horse theme. Shelves of knick-knacks and a piano adorned with a cow skull and candlewax. One beer on draft from Hopewell, though it's mainly a cocktail bar. The mescal corpse reviver was pretty good. Unfortunately when I asked for the check, the bartender dumped out my drink which wasn't quite empty. It wasn't busy and they weren't rushed, so that just seemed odd. read more

I have been an advocate of Tack Room for a long time. They used to be my favorite piano bar. I come tonight, hoping my friend's first piano bar experience would be an unforgettable. I am incredibly angry and disappointed. The pianist scheduled for 8-10 PM never showed up. Not until 9:30, where she takes her sweet time setting up, no urgency despite being an hour and a half late... making sweet conversation with the customers. I took an Uber from Lincoln park to go to this piano bar, and we had limited time. Certainly never supporting this business again. read more

The drinks were okay, varied in quality: some I thought were quite good, others not so much. The real draw to this place is the live piano music. There are seats at the piano if you want to be close to the action, but some of the people in our party weren't so into the idea (I imagine it makes conversation a little harder). Amazing Bar and Atmosphere, when I say you will not find another bar like this I mean that. Yes, its a little small but that just means better service. Love the decor and the live music.
