Delicious cookies! Not much sugar as other sweets, good for healthy. First tried this Persian sweets, definitely will buy again. read more

First time I went there. The Sohan Assali is terrible. Very disappointed since we wanted it for Norouz.

Really some of the most awesome delectable treats one can find on this side of the river. I'm particularly impressed with the chickpea sweets; they are delicate and crumbly. The others are good too. They provide also some imported raisins; sometimes these are too stiff; perhaps they don't circulate well. The sour cherry jam is awesome but so sweet. read more

I am back to this hidden gem once again. Owner is full of spirit, and operates pretty much all. These Persian cookies are definitely worth the trip. Roughly $15 for a box of cookies, not sure how the pricing works here as it seems to fluctuate. CASH ONLY. ATM available inside. read more

We come here for the Persian baklava fresh from the oven, and the macaroons! The pastries are great and unlike any other bakery around, but even greater is the kindness of the owner who always greets his customers with such warmth. It feels like another, wonderful world. read more

We had the pleasure of trying Tabrizi Bakery specialities after the NYC Persian Parade recently, and it was such a treat! We got two barbari breads, bamieh, and baklava. The bamieh was SO FRESH, and my husband said the baklava we had was the best baklava he's ever tasted. We hope to visit the bakery on-site sometime soon! read more

Tabrizi has the best persian cookies! Every time we get anything from them, it is so fresh. Their cookies are so flakey and buttery, and exactly how they should be. I also recommend the cream puffs. So delicious. read more

Tabrizi Bakery - a variety of pastries in a box - Bakeries Near Me - Watertown, Massachusetts

We drove over an hour to check out this place and were NOT disappointed. Owner was outgoing and enthusiastic which made it even more fun. We got some of just about everything and nothing disappoints. My Iranian husband gave it his approval read more

This place makes the best cookies and pastries. Their walnut and almond macaroons and cream puffs are absolutely out of this world. Delicate, balanced and you can taste the quality. The owner is the baker and he makes just enough to always have fresh product at the store. It's not cheap but I am sure he must use top notch ingredients to creat such art. Every time I take his cookies and etc. some where as a gift everyone loves it and many have become patrons. Great choice if you want to take a unique gift to a party. You will be very popular :) I have recently moved to Florida but will make sure to visit every time I am here in Boston. read more

Wish I had known about this bakery sooner. Stopped by on a Saturday and saw the barbari bread cooling that they make only on Saturdays, so had to buy one. It was delectable. Couldn't stop eating it! I also bought Persian cookies and pastries which were all top notch. Very delicate and subtle. Just delicious and very fresh. I saw the baker making zoolbias in a fryer, and it was very tasty. I also bought some loose tea there. read more

Five stars all the way! Was my first time here. This is a small, family owned Persian grocery and bakery. Came by here with my girlfriends to pick up some dessert for Persian New Year. Mohammed and his wife were so helpful. I called ahead of time to order. They were so accommodating and they recommended an assortment of cookies and other desserts. Ended up selecting the large chocolate covered cream puffs (Best cream puffs I've ever had!) and Persian baklava. Everything was delicious and we'll definitely be back! read more

My mom and I have been going to Tabrizi backers for many years. We love the baked goods and the variety of other products they carry. We specially love the barbari bread that they bake on Saturdays only. I recommend it to anyone that would like to taste Persian delights. read more

Charming little bakery with tasty cookies, cream puffs and my daughters favorite, Baklava! They also have plenty of exotic herbs and spices. One thing to be aware of is there are exposed nuts, so those with peanut allergies might want to take caution. read more

We went here on a whim because many other places in the area were closed. I'm so happy we did! We had a lovely time. Super cute and charming family and friendly service! Great treats for a great price :) read more

Eh, I guess I wasn't as thrilled as many people were. The sweets I sampled were OK but nothing I'd dream about returning for. The baklava had way too much orange blossom water flavor, which I've never tasted in baklava before. It didn't improve it. My favorite out of what I sampled was definitely the chickpea cookie. We stood there for a few minutes before anyone came out from the back. Even if someone had called out "I'll be right with you" I would have felt better about it. Since they don't seem to care if they have customers, I'll go somewhere else that does. read more

What does Boston have that NYC, Los Angeles, Chicago, Oklahoma City, Washington D.C., and San Francisco don't have? The BEST Persian bakery in America. Seriously, I don't know why Agha Tabrizi hasn't ever started up some kind of Persian Dunkin Donuts empire, but his pastries are outstanding. The bamiyeh are so crispy on the outside and burst with wonderful honey-rosewater flavor when you bite in. The Gerdoui and Badami are wonderfully chewy and nutty The nazook are to die for. Every bite transports me back to my childhood in Iran. My Asian wife is an even bigger lover of it than me. In short, Agha Tabrizi has enthralled this family. read more

As soon as I walk in, the Latino lady that works there asks me, "Chickpea cookies?" And a bit embarrassed, I put my head down and nod because I'm addicted to those little innocent-looking cookies and yes, that is what I want. This place smells incredible. Very tiny, but everything is "khaley khoshmazeh" (very delicious). I've tried them all! The fried rose water spider-web looking things are good. The almond and walnut cookies are DELICIOUS! I had to quit cold turkey because it really was becoming an unhealthy obsession. :) Now I make my own walnut cookies. Honestly, if you go, try the chickpea cookies (nan-e-goordei) or something like that. They are so different from anything I've ever had. And for some reason, you just can't stop eating them. Be sure to be in a well-ventilated area after because they make you a little farty. :) Sorry, but it's true. read more

Tabrizi Bakery is a Persian bakery located right in Watertown Square, although the place is so small and unassuming you could be forgiven for never noticing it was there. What might you find in a Persian bakery? First and foremost: pastries. This consists of French pastries (roulettes, napoleons) popular in Iran and traditional Persian pastries (like zoolbia, which is a fried dough drenched in honey). Tabrizi also carries cookies and bread. In addition to baked goods, you can get a decent selection of Persian dry goods and syrups. Sour cherry syrup, pomegranate molasses, rose water, teas, some spices, packaged candies, etc. This is a small bakery, but the food is good. I recommend you give the pastries a shot. read more

The cream puffs are terrific, both the plain (whipped cream, with powdered sugar on top) and the chocolate (still whipped cream, but chocolate glaze on top.) Some of the canonical Persian pastries, especially the chickpea cookies, are not to my midwestern taste. But the cream puffs? fantastic. HOWEVER: owners, please clean up your shop. The glass cases look smeary, the floor is dirty, the front door and window both need a good scrub. It's not inviting and makes me want to just leave quickly after getting my cream puffs. Which is too bad because apparently you have some great breads! read more

The environment was not clean and the seller was not professional. I didn't feel comfortable there. read more

His pastries are good, but it's not worth going through his insults and racist jokes to get a cookie. He only takes cash, which is another hassle. Plenty of other options in town. read more

The most delectable Persian cookies l have ever had, including the fine bakery near my home in West London. Delicately-flavoured, impeccably fresh and very well-priced. I will be going back! read more

I like this place and their bakery stuff - where can I find ghaz y isfhan (nougat cangy) outside of California - the last three times I had to wait over 10 minutes for the owner to stop socializing. I understand you are talking with someone but let me know how long you will be- the last time I just putt stuff back and left because I just could not wait. That being said their cake is really good. read more

The most tasteless & super expensive Persian Norooz cookies ( chickpeas, rice, Zoulbia & Bamieh/ +_ $14 each box) made by Tabrizi found in my local store here in PA. Is it mass production that makes you cut the quality ingredients (Saffron, Rose water, spices...) of these cookies ???? Never again ! read more

I love, love, LOVE this bakery! The owners are SO friendly and the sweets are soooo good!! There are gluten-free and nut-free options too which is a huge surprise considering how hard it is to find either of these things in traditional recipes. Mohamed and his family run the shop and they're always happy and ready to help if you've never had Persian sweets before (like me). I adore the cream cake and the cookies but highly recommend getting one of everything because it's just that good. read more

Really cool little place! Just got some excellent dried dates, figs, and some beautiful baklava there, all delicious! They have a nice selection of authentic stuff there, looking forward to going back and getting some of their orange blossom teas soon read more

Found this gem last weekend exploring the area as we just moved to town. I saw it as I drove by on my way to buy an overpriced coffee. When you first walk in the smell hits you right off the bat. Please do yourself a favor and try the baklava it is hands down some of the best I've had. Cream puffs are also really good. Will definitely be back. read more

I've never had a more delightful experience in a food store. Often when I say I'm cooking something that is obviously outside my own "culture," I get questioning looks. Here it was nothing but helpful suggestions, answered questions. I can't give the ambiance its due. The desserts are being made right before your eyes. Mohammed was sitting over a cauldron of hot oil while explaining to me how to prepare barberries. You'll walk out feeling that you are welcome to return. read more

Tabrizi is taking care of all persian sweets and cookies for our wedding. Of course we had to try everything before ordering 17lbs of it for our sofreh. In addition to all the sweets (my favorites being zolbi and bami) they also sell sweet cream napoleons (my absolute favorite- so light and airy). The store is pretty small- I was expecting more of a pastry shop plus grocery store, but the grocery side is very limited. After frequenting some other middle eastern shops in the area, everyone has recommend Tabrizi. read more

I think the least this bakery can do is to clean its environment. everything looks very dirty and old and honestly, the pastry is not delicious too. read more

So nice to have real authentic Persian desserts so close to home. Their ice cream is delicious and all their pastries are wonderful. There are times when it's a slower season perhaps so occasionally some of the products will be a little stale but overall it's a great place to get delicious desserts! read more

Delicious shirini (sweets) and the best napoleans in the northeast!

This place is what I miss most about no longer regularly going to the Watertown Square area. The prices are super cheap for how much time and effort it takes to craft many of the pastries/etc by hand and they have a wide assortment of cooking/eating related things crammed into their tiny space. It rotates out (which I appreciate as that way I know they're fresh) but frequent items include rose water, tins of nuts, Turkish delight, large bags of saffron, teas, and canned/bottled foods, and they even generally have a rack of imported postcards and greeting cards. Plus the baklava tastes much more like the baklava I had when I lived in Greece - subtle and delicate - rather than the way baklava in Americanized Greek restaurants/bakeries usually tastes (where they seem to always make it overpoweringly sweet to please Americans' sweets-obsessed palates). read more

Delicious Persian pastries. I had the Napoleon, cream puffs, zaboon, bamiye, and noon keshmeshi. They were all very fresh and delicious. The owner was very nice and polite. I Definitely recommend this place read more

Give Tabrizi a shot, this place will surprise you. As a Watertown resident, I have driven by this place a million times and walked by often on the way to Super Fusion for sushi and the Meat Spot for my fav parma sub. Anywho, I finally decided to stop into this bakery. It is a cute little place with baked goods and a small grocery section. I have a particular weakness to Macaroons and this place makes a killer Walnut and Almond version. I have tried a bunch of items with mixed results, not every item is always fresh, so you may want to stick to the popular items. I would give this place 5 stars for the Macaroons, -2 stars for the lack of freshness on certain items, and +1 star for the fair prices. read more

Best cookies ever!! I love the puff pastry cookies that are lightly sweetened on the top. Prices are cheap too!

I'd been wanting to check out this bakery for a while. I got a pound of cookies and some baklava - all are really tasty - delicately flavored and the layered pastry treats, light and crispy. It's a tiny place and the sign is non-descript. I picked up some Turkish delight for only $5. I'll be back. read more
