Who's the Aubergenius who came up with Baba Ganouj? Best dip ever!
    Yael D.

So I hit up this shop ISO Baba Ganouj to include as part of a melange of Middle Eastern savory treats we were bringing for dinner with our friends in Lincoln. I'd already checked a couple of the other stores on the same strip, but they felt so gloomy and their Baba didn't look enticing to me. And then I stopped in here: This compact, cheery place sucked me right in with its tempting food displays and aesthetic feel . And maybe it's psychological, but the Baba looked better to me. So I got a pound, which I think came to about $8 or so, plus a small bag of house made Pita Chips, which came to, I think, $4. Not exactly inexpensive. But am happy to report, both were great! I'm a Baba snob with a preference for smoky, smooth, and rich with tahini, and this covered all those bases. There were lots of other tantalizing looking things, but I'd already blown our budget at Eastern Lamejun Bakery. Four stars for now since I only tried a couple items. Plus the prices seemed a bit steep. That won't stop me from returning, though, the next time I'm in town. If everything else is as delicious as the Baba, am sure this is going to become a regular stop.

I tend to get food from the salad bar and I can never leave with out a least a few baklava or other goodies.

FOOD: Now the food, this is where things shine. Everything we had was delicious and mouthwatering, especially paired with the yogurt drink, which added that perfect tangy balance to the meal. I went with a lamb dish that was rich and flavorful, exactly what you hope for when ordering something like that. We also shared the Ajarian khachapuri, and it was easily the fan favorite at the table. Warm, cheesy, indulgent, the one of those dishes that gets everyone leaning in for "just one more bite." The only small note for me was the pita bread. I personally would've loved it warm, but it may very well be traditional to serve it the way they do, so not a dealbreaker. SERVICE: The service matched that energy perfectly. Attentive without hovering, smooth timing between dishes, and an overall sense that the staff genuinely cares about your experience. Nothing felt rushed, nothing felt forgotten just solid, thoughtful hospitality. AMBIANCE: From the moment you walk in, the ambiance pulls you in. The warm wooden interior gives off this cozy, almost transportive feeling -- like you've stepped into someone's home tucked away in the Caucasus mountains. It's intimate, relaxed, and makes you want to slow down and actually enjoy your meal. CONCLUSION: Overall, this is the kind of spot you leave thinking about later. I'd absolutely come back, especially to grab takeout and put friends onto a place that feels both authentic and a little bit like a hidden gem.

When you first walk in, it's a bit quiet and you have to wait for someone to come from the back to greet you, but be patient because once you're seated, service is attentive and available whenever you need it. There are lots of rustic-looking tables, which give it a sort of homey feel, and some tables can fit 12+, so they can definitely accommodate large groups. My colleagues always get something different, but I get the same thing every time: the grilled boneless pork shoulder and it is so good. The pork shoulder is a bit fatty and comes out juicy and flavorful from the grill - droolworthy. It comes with sauerkraut, but it's not your typical sauerkraut; it's more like a mild slaw with just enough acid to cut through the fatty pork. Also comes with your choice of side and sauce. The garlic toom is the only option in my opinion (of course, they have others), but get ready to have kickin' breath for the rest of the day. Others have gotten the lamb tongue, lentil soup, falafel, beef shawarma, borscht, pelmeni, eggplant rolls, and they have all been hits. Don't think I would ever come out of my way to this restaurant if I didn't know about it, but it's totally worth the trip!
