Chef Boyardee is better than this place Only good thing was…read morethe service The pasta was way overcooked and swimming and watered down sauce. They chopped up the chicken underneath and slather it and tasteless, sweet sauce. They use no spice whatsoever. Everything was tasteless . And they give you a dinner roll and a so called Italian restaurant? So disappointing. Let's talk about the dessert that the owner is so proud his daughter makes at home. The cake was so dry. It only looked appealing, but the taste was not. I left the owner know we had a reservation and he didn't care and he popped his head up and looked over the room and pointed out a table and said oh there's one. Didn't walk us to the table we set ourselves. He finally shows up with menus and his little tablet to show us a picture of the daily special, and then told us a dumb joke and elaborate on the great wine, which was horrible. Please don't come to this place unless you like to play Russian roulette. Place was full, don't know why. They certainly don't know Italian food and the menu is very limited.

When we stood in front of counter, she said 'how can I help you?' I ordered a cappuccino and a savory crepe to take out. She did only as she needed so I tipped a mere 10%. A Minimalist worker. No 'Thank you for coming in' as we walk out either. Place is decorated comfortably and very rustic I had the portobello crepe, very delicious worth 5 stars Overall, it would have been a 5 stars review IF worker was a bit friendlier.

My only concern is the place is really dirty. The ceiling fans are caked in dust bunnies and the whole place could use a good scrub down. I hope they do so as we would like to come back.

La Ferrovia Authentic Italian Restaurant is back!…read more After Giuseppina and Jeff retired--well deserved after years of hard work and dedication--the restaurant has entered a new chapter. Their passion was always evident in the food they served, and the new owners are learning how to honor the Southern Italian cuisine that Giuseppina knew so well. We have been there twice with my granddaughter, and it did not disappoint. The penne with white sauce was superb, as was the salad with the house dressing, the fresh bread, and the delicious tomato sauce served on the side. But what stood out most was the atmosphere and the genuine desire to make guests feel comfortable, giving them time to enjoy their meal and conversation the way Italians do. The owner was incredibly kind and even came to our table to make sure everything was okay. Neapolitan cuisine is simple, fresh, and flavorful--it doesn't rely on heavy spices but instead allows quality ingredients to shine. If you're expecting lots of spices, you may be confusing Italian cuisine with another style of cooking. I also appreciate that the owners are open to suggestions when those suggestions respect the cuisine and are offered constructively rather than as criticism, as I've noticed in some reviews. Be kind, and take a moment to learn about authentic Neapolitan cuisine before judging it. It is a beautiful culinary tradition rooted in simplicity, family, and flavor. Welcome back, La Ferrovia!

Even after that, we waited another long time to even get drinks started and food ordered in. The bartender was super kind and talkative but felt like he had really no care for being attentive. The food we got was okay. The ribs had good flavor but the texture felt off as if they were microwaved or overcooked. My girlfriend got a buffalo chicken sandwich that really had no flavor and was mostly breading and super messy. I got a shepherds pie but as well the potatoes had little to no flavor.. I think this place has a lot of potential. Maybe it was just a bad night. But I think better service and curating a better palate for the menu can be done. Especially for being one of the few better bar and food places in Ogden.
