Okay so ... it's nearly Christmas and I was in desperate need of a gift for my brother. He is a big fan of the game Catan and unfortunately, this game is almost strictly available online. So close to the holiday... let's just say that's not going to work! (It's the 23rd of December!) I called this store and they confirmed they had Catan and various expansion packs in stock. The price is exactly what I was expecting to pay and then they had a 10% holiday discount. It's a Saturday and most stores are NOT answering their phones but this store answered on the 1st or 2nd ring!! They set aside two different games for me and confirmed they were open until 10pm! I swung by and the nicest person helped me to check out, signed me up for the rewards program, and explained their business model. You can rent and play games, purchase them, or bring your own! Visited on a trip to CT to visit family. I had some great stores near me growing up (War & Pieces, The Dragon's Lair) but they are long gone, unfortunately. That being said, I've seen some great stores in the various places I've lived (The Guild House in Bellflower, CA and The Guardtower in Columbus, OH) and Tabletop Gaming Center would rank up there with the best. The space is huge with tons of tables to play. The store-section itself is also large with a nice variety of board games, role-playing games, and miniatures. It's all nicely laid out and easy to browse. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful without being pushy, which is a huge bonus. When I come back to visit CT, I'll be sure to stop in again. It's well organized, bright, and family friendly with a great mix of games for casual players (and kids) and hardcore grognards. read more

Recently checking out their gamer garage sale and auction a few weekends ago I was blown away that I have not been to this place before. With the biggest store for Table Top games I've seen compared to Game Workshop in West Hartford and Battle Standards that use to be in Manchester and moved to East Windsor, you have shelves and shelves of games for purchase, cards to buy and tables to try them out with your friends. Spending $5 on any of their events or just to grab a table will snag you a D6 that is a nice item to have. Engraved with their name and worth $5 in store credit you get your money back to spend in the store. Treating a friend to the shop, I now have $10 in store credit that I'll keep for another day for an expansion or a base game that I've been meaning to buy. But of course you shouldn't buy any games without first playing them which brings me to the game library in the back. Being escorted there by an employee can be tricky as there will always be more players than employees, you'll find four racks of pretty much any game you want to try. I know what some games I like but having a conversation with Natalie or one of the men there allowed me to try games like Lotus or Lanterns or tackle harder games like Crank in Space or Pandemic. Grabbing a few games and finding a table to play at, we spent hours playing games taking a break here and there as we saw the place fill up with groups of people of all age groups. Most people playing Magic the Gathering we did come on a Wednesday where there were some Dungeon and Dragon groups continuing their campaign. We were also able to head next door or across the street for some easily accessible snacks that made the gaming experience that much more enjoyable. Back to the gamer garage sale that pulled me in. The gamer garage sale had games donated or sold to the store that we were able to bid on to win the game. Held twice a year to my knowledge, my friends and I hovered over games that we wanted the whole day making sure that we would win them. There were also blind bid items like Space Hulk the Board Game that we submitted anon with the amount we were willing to pay. Some of the items that were up for bidding the funds would be donated to CCMC which pretty much blew me away for a table top shop to think of the local medical center. I tip my hat to them for that and you have found a loyal customer for that along with the services that you provide. Their response on Facebook and their Facebook page provide up to date information on events that are usually $5 through the months and only being a short drive from Manchester you'll find me there if I can ever get a group together. If you want to meet up, let me know. My only things are I wish that there were more employees so that we can head to the library easier and it does get cold in there so bring some heavy clothes, but other than that weekly tournaments, large figures of Deadpool and Batman and all the games that you can possibly want to play, this place is it. read more

Friendly staff, lots of room to play games, plenty of games, models, miniatures, and collectible playing card games and singles. Awesome policy for playing games in-store: $5 pwr person gets you gaming space for the day, and they give you a $5 gift six-sided dice to spend whenever/however you want. Table top States it's a friendly family environment all while the entire parking lot including their store lighting is completely dark and you basically need a flash light to get inside which is not too safe at all for anyone let alone children and families that they host . I was there for 5 min. I approached the register for a payment question. I then went and sat down. I started to set up my cards for the magic event and a heavy set male employee with a Beard and pink nail polish approached me and told me that people are complaining about my hoodie which had no vulgarities what so ever spelled out on the fabric. He then didn't suggest and or offer for me to remove it or cover it up but basically i need to leave. The gentleman was very unfriendly and I felt very intimidated by the exchange while he stood hovering over me. The only people who had full view of my hoodie was the staff since I went right to the register. It appears that they don't care about customers what so ever as all they are doing is pushing their own agenda and beliefs of the LGBTQ transgender community as it's everywhere in the store. From name tags , to flags , to customers and staff. I don't participate or even believe in the LGBTQ movement but i had no problem going there as I respect other people's beliefs and put mine aside. I feel that because I fit into a stereotype that they have discriminated against me. I will not be returning to spend a dime in this store and will express this to all who ask about it. read more

I've been going to Tabletop at least weekly for a couple of years now, and wanted to take a moment to express how much I love this store. I travel to gaming shops all over the Northeast so I have a fair number of shops to compare it to, and this store is consistently my all-time favorite. It is huge. The roominess allows for more than ample gaming space, which is fully separate from the largest storeroom selection of games I've ever seen. They have a beautiful collection of independent board games that is always being updated, a full schedule of group gaming events every day of the week, and the most friendly, knowledgeable staff you can imagine. Do yourself a favor and stop by their twice annual used game sale, or just pay $5 to sit and play for as long as you like - you'll get the $5 back in store merchandise or snacks! Really great spot. I needed to stop by my local shop in Manchester but they were closed, so I pulled this place up on Yelp, decided to drive 30 minutes to give it a shot. Was very impressed with the selection. I came to cross some things off my DnD shopping list and ended up picking up everything off the list! I stopped in here on a random weeknight after finding the place on google maps, curious to see if they had any supplies for getting started painting tabletop minis. I also needed to pick up some D&D supplies. The owner/manager was incredibly friendly & helpful, and actually spent a good 20+ minutes giving me a crash course on the different painting supplies available and how I could get started without investing a ton of money. He seriously couldn't have been more helpful, or gone more out of his way! I was really impressed by the amount of painting-related stuff they had, and also with the size of the store & variety in what they carried overall. I had no problem finding all the D&D stuff I needed (a specific adventure book - but I'll be back for dice & spell cards & pre-painted minis, I'm sure). There were also probably a good 20-30 people in the store playing various games, and clearly having a good time. I'm absolutely going back, and will definitely treat this store as my home store. As a newbie and a female-presenting person, it was SO nice to have an overwhelmingly positive experience walking into a random gaming store. I can't recommend this place enough! read more
