Immaculate vibes. Games for days. There's so many to choose from, and the staff was passionate and excited to assist our group. The games are very well organized, and there's even a suggestions list on the wall. Not to leave out, the lights and art make for a fantasy cottage core immersive space. I love shrooms! But obvi, The main reason to come here is for the games. You want cat games? They got purrfect choices! Pandas? Uh-huh that have it! Racoons? You bandit believe it! Wanna watch your friends meeples get eaten by sharks? You can hear with Survior Island! Parks and Trails? Have no fear... they got it here! Criminal games? Allegedly they have them ;) They have so many, that it was overwhelming to choose. Prices are fair, with about a $5 fee/gamer, with set times of 3 hours max typically. I'm sure if it was empty and if they didn't have other resi's or a waitlist, you could hang longer, especially if you have an extra $5 or something... Weekends, espeically in the winter, will be more crowded so be aware if others make you nervous. I personally get nervous about gaming when others are around. My brain shuts down and I loose critical thinking skills necessary to win. And winning is life. Onward, the food was meh. I ordered the cheese flatbread 'Za, hoping to channel my inner teenage mutant ninja turtle and smash my fellow turtle completion. But the pizza was bland. It was like pita with cheese on. I'd say, go somewhere else and get food, and go here for the games and dranks. The latte was delicious, and I actually ordered a second. It was just the extra sweetness & energy boost I needed to crush my competition. You already know I like to check out the restrooms. They had two gender neutral large accessible restrooms, from what I discovered on my exploration, and they were clean, with adequate lighting and finishes. Parking is scattered across the street, but there's the large westside market lot available. With Mitchell's Icecream (yes the train was working at this one last time I went), Ohio City Burrito, and a plethora of options, you can't go wrong! Now, back to the games - I will say, some of the games are very advanced and will require extensive set up and knowledge on how to play. If there's game you're interested in playing, and you have little knowledge, I recommend looking up the rules first and checking out tutorial vids. We were downtown in Ohio City and after a visit to Pins, thought we would check out this game place down the street. It was a really a nice out of the ordinary date night outing. I'm glad I found it on Yelp. Now I have to check out the one in Columbus. Upon entering, a host greeted us and said he would find a table for us, and that they charge $5 per person. We stopped at the bar to order drinks, then were shown to a table. I found Yahtzee so we played that for awhile. They have sooo many board games and 2 rooms full of people at tables. A lot of the games were unknown to me. My bourbon cocktail was great, and my boyf had a draft beer. I went looking for another board game or two and someone asked me if I needed any assistance. I said we liked Yahtzee, but wanted to try something new. He said give me a few minutes and I'll bring some to you. He was so incredibly nice and sat with us to get us started on one of the games he brought. He was also very patient. He even offered to get us refills from the bar. We had another excellent visit to Tabletop. The service, food and game selection is expansive. The decor is fun also. Tabletop serves upscale bar type food. It was very tasty. We were able to eat and play our game. We choose to play Ticket to Ride Europe. It was a good choice for the time we had. They have games of all lengths. The game overall took two hours. We were missing a game piece and the staff came over immediately to replace the game piece. Our server was great and checked back often. We did notice the carpet on the bottom of the tables. We had not noticed this before. Our server said this is for noise. It reduces the noise when rolling dice and moving game pieces. You sank my battleship! All the Milton Bradley and Parker Bros commercials during Saturday morning cartoons! (Most of you are too young to remember this). That was how we knew what to put on our wish list (social media did not exist). I always wanted The Game of Life (alas, I never got it) after seeing the fun commercials. We even had a game that was The Sinking of the Titanic ( which I recently gave away). Which brings us here, a Saturday afternoon, to the Tabletop Board Games Cafe, where they have over 1,000 games to play. Today the cafe was crowded, with groups of friends settling down for a few hours of game playing. We had a table in the back, and we ordered some Buff Chick Bites, a Prosciutto Date Flatbread, and some cucumber salad. We played Battleship, a perfect two player game that doesn't requite too much time, nor strategy. Between bites of the Buff Chick (what it sounds like, mildly spicy) and the Prosciutto Date Flatbread (needed more ingredients on top), I was victorious. We also played Connect Four (I lost). This is a fun place, cute ambience, and tons of games. I'd like to see if they have some of the wacky board games I used to play (eons ago, I always liked the offbeat). The food was ok, not spectacular, but we were definitely more focused on the games. Our food came out promptly and our server was friendly. It was fun to see all ages represented (mom and child playing Hungry Hippos, group of friends, etc). My vintage Titanic board game sells for over $100 on eBay. read more

One of my good friends invited me here for the first time, I got some amazing hot chocolate, and the tater tots, bother were really delicious! So glad my friends and I found this place! We were looking for something chill, fun, and cheap to do in Cleveland to pass time until dinner and tabletop came up in our searches. Parking is kinda crazy around here (especially because we weren't familiar with the area at all). We had to put our name in to the hostess as she said there was a wait when we arrived. They don't take reservations on the weekend so it's really just a game of luck when you get there. She couldn't give us as estimate of when a table would open up because they don't have a time limit. So we headed to a nearby brewery to grab a drink while we waited. It ended up being a short 10 minutes till they called us to say they were ready for us. Once we sat down, they gave us a couple menus and we ordered drinks and some snacks. We then picked out 2 games out of their 100s of options. They set it up in order of difficulty/strategy so I felt that made it easier to make some decisions. As mentioned before, there is no time limit so you don't need to feel rushed when playing games. On a cold weekend visit to Cleveland, my friends and I were searching for something to do with our afternoon, and we stumbled upon the Tabletop Board Game Cafe. We walked in around 5pm on a Saturday, and at the time there weren't any tables available. We put our names in and left, but were called about 10 minutes later to be notified of an open table. We were seated, and ordered some food and drinks. I got the kombucha to drink (it was delicious! I was happy to have a fun non-alcoholic option), and the hummus plate. The hummus wasn't the best in my opinion, but I liked the option to have something healthy. We stayed here for a few hours and played about three games. This place is the bomb dot com. Wish it had parking, wish it were open on Mondays, wish it were in the suburbs! The area is superb, the decor is gorgeous (although the hardwood floors are seriously uneven and wonky), the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the game selection is ON POINT, y'all! They serve drinks and food too! A bit pricey but the taste was surprisingly good! I played Castles of Burgundy (took about 2 hours) but my game appetite was bigger than my schedule so I'm now counting down the days I can come back and play Wingspan! My friend and I went to Tabletop on a rainy Friday hoping it wasn't going to be crowded. We were pleasantly surprised that it was a little busy but there was a seat for two waiting just for us. This was my first time to Tabletop. We only went because the baseball game in town was postponed due to rain and we wanted to get coffee and maybe play a game afterwards. I'm glad we picked Tabletop to visit. We were greeted by the nicest person who asked us if this was our first time visiting. He briefly oriented us to Tabletop and gave us the lay of the land. He told us that if we wanted to play games he could recommend some games. We didn't take him up on the offer but I'm glad we could get his recommendations. After watching him help others with games I have no doubt he knew how to play all the games and could make a good recommendation based on our interests. I checked out the shelves of games to see what looked interesting. There was a bookcase of games for 2 players, up to 7 players, and groups, and then a whole wall of a mixture of games for 2 to 30 players. If you need help understanding a game a host can help you as well as make recommendations. I saw the host help two parties understand how to play the game they picked. So you can come here knowing how to play a game or learn a new one on your own or with a little help from the host. Parties of all sizes and flavors are welcome here. I saw parties of two, four, six and and even a bridal shower that had 6-8 in their party. My friend and I just got drinks. I got an Americano and he got a chocolate milk shake. The Americano came with a side of milk that I requested and a cookie which was a pleasant touch. My friend said his milkshake was absolutely delicious and it looked really nicely made. The decor style makes the place a fun place to be. I think I would describe it as a mix of bohemian snd postmodern. There were lots of homemade decorations. In the side room there were bunches of small homemade funky chandeliers and blue jellyfish hanging from the ceiling. There is lots of light and a good mixture of light sources. There is a lot of stuff hanging from the ceiling. Lots of patterns and vintage and handmade materials. Some bright colors and muted colors. Lots of layers balanced well, not overwhelming. I really wish I visited this gem more often when I lived in Cleveland two years ago. We stopped in after some Black Friday shopping to spend some family time together. First of all, $5 for unlimited games? What a deal! And to top that off, the food and drinks are reasonably priced and delicious too! I got the regular hot chocolate which was delicious! The people I was with tried the sangria, the spiked hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps, and a beer I forgot the name of. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their choices! We spent our time playing the game Splendor, and I am just amazed at the board game selection here! I recommend this to anyone who wants to get out of the house for a bit with friends or family. My first visit to Table Top - turned out to be a great afternoon of gaming. For $5/person we could play all the board games we wanted. We purchased some Kombucha and some black tea from Tabletop and snacked on cookies from Vera's we just bought at WSM. Sign said no external food, so we were very discreet with the cookies :) Gaming experience was awesome - I've purchased too many board games in the past that end up not being fun or too complex to enjoy, so being able to test games out here from their 1,000+ options was really cool. We only had a few hours, but checked out a few games and had a really great chilled out time. Our server was attentive and helpful, bringing our drinks and check with a smile. read more

* WARNING* Long Review. Skip to the different sections below for quicker references. Avocado Bravado! That's the name of the game people. YES, eat all the avocados you want here and then some. Get that AVOO!! And no, there are no board games here called 'Avocado Bravado' but you can choose from an assortment of games to play. Seriously, there is a ton of avocado on the food menu though (read more below). GAMES - Oh my word.....games, games, games. I had no idea this place existed until my friend told me about it. It costs $5 to play games all day or for however long you want to stay. There are so many games to choose from such as simple classic games like Monopoly or knowledge games such as "The Game of Law School" or a Harry Potter trivia game. You can play Blokus which is the game that my friend Ami and I played. It took us about 1.5 hours to play it. Get 2-4 people and each person chooses a block colour. The aim of the game is to get all your blocks on the board by using the square corners. It's actually very interesting and can get tricky too but it is super fun at the same time. I ended up winning by having 11 blocks left behind at the end of the game (see pics below). I had the purple and red blocks. My friend and I also played "Connect Four" which was my first time playing the game and I had a ton of fun. FOOD/DRINKS - There is plenty to choose from to eat and drink (see my photos). There is a menu item called 'Avocado Bravado' that I have to try the next time I'm here. What I ordered instead was the Black Bean and Sweet Potato Panini and I choose the Red Lotus Garlic cashew spread. It was delicious but needed a bit more flavour (some spice or hot sauce). It has strings of onions in it which the menu didn't mention. Because I hate onions, I had to pick those out which was no problem. I also ordered a green tea which comes with a biscuit. I got hot water refilled for free so I kept hydrated all night. If you're vegetarian then there are some options for you here which is nice. My friend ordered the Orange Goat Bites. It comes with 8 small slices of french bread topped with orange marmalade and goat cheese. I don't like goat cheese but I tried just one bite and it was actually pretty good. The orange marmalade definitely gave it a burst of flavour. ATMOSPHERE / LAYOUT (no WIFI) - Super fun and chill. You'll have to wait to be seated if the place is packed. My friend and I waited for about 40 mins to be seated. We got there just after 9pm on a Saturday night. So we first sat at the kitchen counter area and ordered food before a table opened up for us to play games. Put down your phone because there is no wifi here (duh). The point of coming here is to plug away from technology and have fun like the good old days. Remember the days without Youtube or Instagram? Haha, anyway, this is a perfect spot to hangout during these upcoming cold winter months. This place is so popluar but the good news is that they are expanding (read more below). Everyone who comes here really just has a good time. I was laughing so much with my friend and I could equally hear so much laughter around me. PRO-TIP - Get here early to find a seat because this place gets really packed. The good news is that a new section is opening up (for more seats) before Thanksgiving Day. So I was told that on November 21, 2018, there will be more seats inside so bring your friends and play some board games. They are closed on Mondays but they stay open for the rest of the week. My friend and I were here until past midnight since they close at 1am on Saturdays. PARKING - Park at Dave's grocery store parking lot. I parked there for free with no issues. BRAVO! Great concept and fun atmosphere, but the menu was very small and several of the items we were interested in ordering were unavailable. Of the food we did get, it was deeply mediocre and overpriced. Overall I would come here again to try out new board games and maybe order a few mimosas, but I would never plan on eating dinner or attempting to order "real" food here again. I was here for a work event. This place is great. 100% recommend a group event here. Especially for board game lover like me. This place has a ton of games I've never played. Some games take couple hours to play, some took 15 mins. We mostly focused on the 15-30 mins games, and some were animated, and we would get loud. The food was complimentary to the games. We got a few appetizers, and I got the flatbread pizza. Everything was delicious. Nothing was overly oily - I think because this is a board game place, nobody want sticky cards. Good selection of beer as well. Before I knew it I took down 4 pints! Mostly grading this place on the fun I had here with my co-workers. Boss paid for it, and I had tons of fun. I happened to walk into this store because it started sprinkling outside and it was on my list of places to check out. From the outside, you could tell people inside the store were just enjoying themselves and having lots of fun with good company. The walls of this establishment was filled board games galore! High quality fun! Whether you're on a date, with your family or want to do something with your friends, this is a GREAT place to go! $5 gets you all you can play from a selection of over 1,000 games! The place itself is awesome- an open room set up with large and small tables for groups of all sizes. There's different types of seating too, including high tops and couches which was accommodating for the mother-to-be of my group to stay comfortable. The ceilings are hanging with string art, and the games are shelved along the walls for easy browsing. Drink wise, there's a rotating beer list, some wine, and cocktails made with house liquors. I ended up getting their mule which was great. Food wise, I wasn't impressed. As a vegetarian, I saw a handful of options but I wasn't that hungry to begin with- I did come for games and drinks ya know! The mac and cheese was okay, I'm glad it came in a small portion because I wouldn't have been taking home leftovers. They have some interesting smoothies including the coffee banana one I ordered. I was disappointed in the consistency- it wasn't thick enough but it was still good. Choosing to return to this location comes down to just wanting a spot to play board and card games. I always beg friends to tag along to board game cafes while traveling. Tabletop is my favorite so far. It's large in both space and variety of games. There were easily at least 15 tables in the space, and thousands of games lining the shelves. The hours here are great, they are open until 11 pm on Sunday. Closed Mondays. It's $5 to play all you'd like. Yes, even all day if you have the stamina! One of the servers helped us initially decide if a game would work with 3 people. All servers there are knowledgeable about the games and will answer questions if you have them. We settled on King Domino, What Do You Meme, and Azul for our time there. When we started to play, it was extremely loud due to a group of 10 next to us. It may be hard for some to focus on learning a game when the cafe is packed, so keep that in mind if you're going on a weekend. It cleared out later on into the night. The food/beverage menu is mostly sandwiches and finger foods. The alcoholic drink menu has some good mule choices, but I just ordered a coke. Being from Texas, it's always odd to travel to other states and experience no-refill policies. But at $2 for a soda, they aren't gauging their patrons with high price points. The menu is reasonably priced considering the downtown location. Overall, the menu and large space at Tabletop made it a wonderful way to spend an evening with friends. read more

SO FUN! We have been to a few game joints because my partner is a gaymer, and this is the best so far. The food was just fine. Good hummus and flatbreads. Kombucha too! Girlie coffee drinks (which made said gaymer happy) The best part is the staff, who come and suggest and explain the games to you! Like completely teach you!!!
