I am about to show you the real power of what your customers can do when they have been mistreated and mishandled over what all could have been so simple and avoided. Last l checked, Restaurants have a "number one" responsibility to the customer if they want to run a successful and community relevant business. But dealing with Momma Eljean from Table 25 has proven to be so unnecessarily exhausting over simply requesting some quality control, business ethics, and compensation for paid items neglectfully omitted from my order (by chef Keon) and were incidentally never received. The meal was supposed to be a family celebration as we have enjoyed this business several times during their first month of opening (welcoming them to the Douglasville area). However, the absurdity of this woman (Momma Eljean) having the audacity to expect this (previously) very loyal customer to jump through the most craziest of hoops over simply getting the items l paid for on my bill (original "to go" order) rectified... are far beyond the definitions of insanity.
Here is my experience: After driving back home and immediately noticing the error in my order, l called (speaking to Chef Keon, who confirmed his mistake), the plea was for me to provide my email and await his ability to get my credit sent to my email. But he never followed up with me.
I then proceeded to call daily, leaving messages with the staff (never got called back), finally reaching management staff (Momma Eljean) who at first began to roll back the responsibilities of how a manager/owner normally resolves mistakes restaurants' make (with professional and proper offer to provide the missing item that was paid for, or provide credit for next visit). Instead, Momma Eljean said she can't do anything as the owner simply cuz she was not there that night. Wait, what? Now, if you own a business and you are responsible for it running efficiently, even when you aren't there... where has there ever been a solution resolved in this manner. After l insisted to speak to Keon, she then said that she would speak to him herself to be briefed on the details and after that, boasted promises to me (later l found to be empty) that eventually would send me around in circles, ultimately offering for me to come retrieve a gift card... (that unfortunately, never happened and l never received). Owner, Momma Eljean, eventually would change to the tune of requiring me to come back in person (when l live an hour and a half away and my schedule rarely opens for this type of commitment)... to finally being told (after a couple more weeks of trying to negotiate a suitable time convenient for the above mentioned to take place) that my gift card benefits had expired... all which happening within one month's to 6 weeks time of making a concerted effort each week to rectify with owner (Eljean) for correction on this matter. Yet again, after first being told that my gift card doesn't expire (l just needed to come pick it up)... now apparently it does expire. It should also be mentioned, that l didn't have the time to keep calling up there only to be told to call back on such and such day and time, leave my info and continue to repeatedly leave my info including proof of transaction order (which l will provide again attached below)... only for it to be mysteriously lost and have to be furnish again and again... then be told l had to come in person and drive back and forth 1 1/2 hrs each way from my home to the restaurant to get this situation settled. Understand this people, She (Momma Eljean) is sadly a master of excuses in which the charade has no end insight (to the extent of not owning one ounce of accountability for herself or her restaurant). It's always someone else's fault or someone else's problem. And that kind of attitude has no business in the place of business, at ALL... especially running a restaurant business in the world of business, or in the business environment dealing with customers whatsoever. It just shouldn't happen... NEVER... EVER. So, as an avid foodie currently in this area, l only have one choice, unfortunately, and that is to blast all of social media with my negative review and to report this business "Table 25" (and this specific incident with Momma Eljean) to the Better Business Bureau. It never should be the customer's fault or problem for paying hard earned money for a service or a product that was not received. At that point, refusing to correct the issue puts you (the business owner) in a very dangerous grey area of most notably being called a bad actor, a con artist... or holding the title of an untrustworthy miscreant. read more
