We went to get something light after a 10 mile mountain bike trail ride. We were greeted right away and shown our table despite coming during the "peak" time on a Sunday for lunch. Our server came over promptly and greeted us with two large bottles of lemon-cucumber infused water- very refreshing after our ride! I ordered the Southwestern omelet ($12) and my husband ordered the Carnitas Sandwhich ($11). My omelet was packed full of fresh, crisp veggies and steak and chicken and cheese. The egg itself was fluffy and was very tasty- but a little on the small side. The breakfast potatoes that accompanied the omelet were original- they had a sort of glaze of them- very good. My husbands sandwich was great. Loved the fries. Over all, good experience. The waitress lacked a little in personality, but no real complaints. The food hit the spot. This is the second time we have been but the first time was awhile ago so I don't remember specifics. This time it was very busy with a 30 minute wait that ended up being 45 minutes. Our server was nice, talked to us about the menu since we hadn't been in so long. Cheap dates as a starter, although honestly they are so rich and sweet (and delicious) they could be a dessert. I got the Pollo con Poblano and my husband go the Oaxaca Salmon. We were both really surprised, they were excellent! Flavorful and filling. My wife and I came here for dinner to give Table Mesa another try last weekend. We had a wonderful experience, and the food was great! Our waitress gave us an order of cheap dates on the house, and they were very, very good! I had the Hong Kong fajitas, and my wife had the regular fajitas. It was all very good, and we had a great time, and will be back for sure. All of the issues from our first visit two years ago are gone. No wobbly tables for us, and the seating is much better. With real fire sconces on the walls, a unique drink menu, banana chips mixed in with the corn chips, and a wide variety of dishes to choose from, there wasn't much to dislike. The queso fundido was excellent--slightly sweet. We tried the bacon wrapped dates too and they were like little bites of heaven! I would get them for dessert! I was super disappointed with this restaurant. We came in during the day while it was slow. We had two appetizers, one appetizer was delicious, the other was not good. Service was pretty horrible which was surprising for how slow it was. The waitress didn't ask how we'd like our burgers cooked. They were worse than McDonald's. Mine had three layers of cheese which was as thick as the burger. The meat was over cooked. I honestly wouldn't ever go there again sadly. We ate a few bites and then got our check and left. While it's one of the only places to eat in Bentonville, the chicken curry burrito was so darn good! The creme brulee used some really gritty cane sugar and was an interesting dessert. There were 11 of us and they made an exception and provided priority seating (thank you Emily). We were seated immediately upon arrival. Drinks were wonderful, I would suggest the sangria. Decent food, good service, not a fan of the retirement home scent that hits you as soon as you open the door. I was pleased that they had a few veggie options. I had the Mediterranean salad with lemon chicken. The dressing really made it good. The hubby had the mushroom melt and he enjoyed it. We were in before dinner so the wait wasn't long for anything. I've been here twice, both times were for lunch. None of which were great. Ok, let's get the good out of the way first. The service here is good, and the food does not taste horrible. Note that not tasting horrible does not necessarily mean that it is good. Now, on to the not so great. Table Mesa? Seriously? I'm not sure if that name is just plain pretentious, or simply stupid. Apparently, their food is modern Latin (aka Latin fusion). I ordered the chimiVanga the first time. I have to say, it was the first chimichanga I've ever had where the crust was tough, instead of crunchy/crispy. I guess that must have been a fusion of Latin and cafeteria food? It did not taste bad, but the texture itself was disappointing, and unexpectedly bad. I had the green chile burger the second time I was here. This was definitely better than the chimivanga, but nothing mind-blowing. And, the chipotle mayo tasted like ketchup. It might be fusion, but it sure as hell wasn't as creative as most other types of fusion food. Beware if you order the queso, because it's sweet, and tastes like it has raspberry in it. Compared to other restaurants in the general area, even the long-standing ones serving traditional fare, this place is nothing special. IMO, the food is similar in quality to chains such as Applebee's and Chili's. read more

Overall, Table Mesa was a very good dining experience. My waiter was friendly and attentive, the ambiance was good, and it wasn't too loud. I had the Cheap Dates, which I definitely recommend - they're very rich and good for sharing; the Kale salad, which was fresh and filled with super-healthy stuff like beets, spinach, and avocado, as well as some super-tasty goat cheese; and the Dippin' Duo, which was acceptable but not as amazing as I was led to believe - the chips were great and the guac was tasty, but the queso dip with chorizo was a bit too thin and mild for my taste. For dessert, I had coffee (in a French press, how fancy) and some good (but not amazing) creme brulee. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for some good, unique food in a relatively relaxed environment. read more

If I was only rating this based on my meal I would give it a solid four stars. We had the dip duo. Outstanding. I had one fish taco, one Korean taco, black beans and rice. Very good. Ended with the Key Lime tres leche cake. Tasty, however not very key limey, but very tres lechey. The problem was my wife's meal. She chose the blackened sea bass fajitas. Poorly conceived and executed. Smelled fishy when it arrived and really went downhill from there. The word special was really done a disservice. Had dinner here with colleagues while in Bentonville on business a couple nights ago. Great atmosphere. Local but trendy at the same time. Interesting menu. I had the beef short rib enchiladas. A little rich as you'd expect which was great though. The flavor was a bit sweet almost like a sweet mole (but it wasn't mole). On my colleague's recommendation we had the queso appetizer. Not a run of the mill Velveeta type if thing. Nice chunky flavorful queso dip for the chips. Good indeed. I will come back when I have a chance to try other things in their menu. read more

Sorry, not as impressed as Yelpers with this restaurant, although it was a pleasant enough experience. My dining partner and I tasted each others main dishes. I had a chile relleno made with crabmeat. It was different than anything I had ever tried, and definitely an adaptation of a tried and true recipe. It was a relatively small portion of food. I think the idea was interesting, but not very well executed. Perhaps the recipe was adapted for Southern tastes, but it was lacking in piquant seasoning, and sweet-tasting thanks to a pepper jelly condiment. My dining partner had the fajita mixta with beef, chicken and shrimp. Again, the piquant flavors we are accustomed to from our Colorado home base were, in our opinion, "dumbed down," and the carmelized vegetables seems overly sweet. I acknowledge that my criticism may be based on a lack of familiarity with the region's biases about flavor. The mojito my partner ordered was excellent. My margarita gets a B. The hostess was very welcoming and friendly, and our server was personable and helpful when asked for recommendations. The atmosphere was nice enough, but the towel dispenser in the men's room was out of order. What is it about public restrooms in the South? Something's always off--functionality, cleanliness, smells, aesthetics....? In this case, just functionality. Not dirty, not smelly. read more

This restaurant was just okay for me. I think that I need to just begin all of my reviews with the statement: "I am vegan," because I do realize that impacts how I feel about a place. The atmosphere is pretty casual, so you can arrive in whatever street clothes you have on, but you wouldn't stick out wearing a nicer outfit either. It is dark and loud (which doesn't bother me), but that might bother some people. There was also a distinct smell that turned me off. Not necessarily a bad smell, but it wasn't preferred... I stopped noticing it eventually. The service was pretty good overall. As far as the food goes- the chips and salsa were great. I know it seems like it should be easy to have good chips and salsa, but these chips were delicious! The menu is fairly limited as far as vegan options, and I wasn't feeling very adventurous so I just ordered their Mediterranean salad. It wasn't bad, but it was not great either. Mostly greens with the occasional piece of avocado/artichoke/cucumber. The dressing was decent. According to the person that I was with, the cheese enchiladas are really good! In the end, I would say it's worth going to (especially if you are non-vegan) because I think that some of the other options are probably really good. And those tortilla chips...! read more

I was very impressed. We went to Bentonville to see the art museum and yelped it to this place. It's by no means authentic Mexican food, but it's absolutely delicious. I had the squash enchiladas and my friends had the chorizo burger and the Hong Kong fajitas. It was all amazing and very reasonably priced ($10-$15). The servers were super knowledge and friendly and they all had big smiles on their faces. Whoever manages and/or owns this place is doing pretty much everything right.
