To start, the food was a rollercoaster. I ordered the stuffed oven-roasted chicken with a side of green beans, and it was absolutely phenomenal--easily the most tender, flavorful chicken I've had in a long time. My wife, however, ordered the ribs, and they were a total disappointment. They were incredibly dry and charred, almost like they were reheated from the day before and just slathered in fresh BBQ sauce to hide it. He barely touched them. The service also left a lot to be desired. Our server was polite enough when she was at the table, but she was incredibly slow and seemed completely overwhelmed, even though the dining room was only about a quarter full. She brought out the wrong side dishes at first and then hovered right over us with the handheld card reader at the end of the night, which made us feel really rushed to pay. Be sure to check your receipt closely before tapping your card, too--they automatically add a 20% gratuity for larger parties (which is fine, but our server didn't mention it), and there's a 3% fee just for using a credit card. It's a beautiful spot and has a lot of potential, but for the price, the consistency just isn't quite there yet.
