My hubby and were visiting from Atlanta and came here with my in-laws to celebrate their 54th wedding Anniversary! Our waitress was friendly and helpful! We ordered the steak, pork steak, the red fish and the rib entrees. We also ordered the fried deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes. To be hones the appetizers were better than the entrees. I ordered the ribeye steak cooked medium! The steak came out WELL done with zero flavor! My husband did enjoy the ribs.. My in-laws appeared to have enjoyed their meals.. From start to finish, The Blacksmith Restaurant in Dyersburg was a great night letting someone else cook. Comfortable both, as requested and just the loveliest waitperson named Marlee, who was warm, welcoming, knew the menu and made some great suggestions, which I followed. When a waitress's face lights up when you order something, you know it's a good choice. Thoroughly enjoyed my Cabernet (nice pour), Shrimp Crostini and Salmon with about the best loaded potato I've had in years. Hubby savored the Snails and Trout and we each enjoyed the broccoli side. All of it was paced nicely by the charming Marlee, who checked back on us often enough to see we were happy and provide refills. We travel through Dyersburg regularly and have round our "go-to" restaurant for a great meal in a comfortable environment and charming staff. Well done! read more

I've been here several times. Each time I've gotten something different, not once have I been disappointed. The service is always great, the atmosphere is great, and the food has always been hot and very delicious. I will continue to make this a regular spot of mine. read more

I found this restaurant on Yelp while looking for a place for dinner while staying in Dyersburg for that one night. I asked to sit at the bar to have dinner. The food was good and plentiful. I would probably give 4 stars, but bartender Megan raised it to a 5 in my mind. She was a very good bartender: welcoming, efficient, personable. read more

The place looks really nice and they have live music in the bar area. It was clean and there was no wait to go eat. The food was very good and so were the drinks. The service was fine. The waiter was very honest about the menu when it came to the preparing of the food / seasoning. It was a great atmosphere, family friendly and of course kid friendly. I ordered the glazed salmon with potato soup and sweet potato fries. The salmon was cooked well but it needed more seasoning! Amazing food and great service in a beautiful setting. Our waitress, Alexa, is super nice and took good care of us! This was our second time stopping here on a road trip and we've had wonderful meals each time. Tonight we had filet mignon, grilled pork ribeye, Caesar salad, tomato basil soup, homemade humus & vegetables, Brussel sprout hash, and strawberry cake for dessert. I placed a phone order for the Pork Ribeye with broccolini and Brussel sprout hash. My wife ordered the salmon with a loaded potato. I picked up the food and the young girl at the counter was very nice. I got the food home and there was no loaded potato and there was only broccoli instead of broccolini. I called down to the restaurant and talked with the manager and told her the problem and that I was coming back down to pick up the items that were missed. When I got there, she apologized and gave me a gift card and a slice of cheesecake for my troubles, this place has always been so nice and kind and has done business very well. I gave them a five star because of their customer service and the quality of their food. We all make mistakes and this restaurant was big enough to own them and make it right! read more

I & friend went for lunch . We were greeted with a pleasant waiter. We both ordered same on menu. The "fall apart BarBQ baby back ribs/ " w salad& baked potato. The ribs were tough , hard to cut ! Tasted like was over cooked. Ask waiter why- ?? a manager came out said , I'm sorry, we will re order for you if you like? I said that it was very good , very tender last time I was here, several months ago, but was not this time. She then told me that th they were two days old and they warmed them up and put barbecue sauce on them is what the cook did! I said you're kidding. They're two days old. No wonder they tasted strange and we're so tough. She didn't stated that the cook was making new ones right now and they were almost done. Could she service the fresh ones we said yes. Lo and behold ! They tasted not done and were very pink inside. The cook came out to us. He said yes they were boiled and then we put barbecue sauce on them. They did not have grill Marks on them.. ( we asked why they looked not done) because we didn't put them on the grill to get grill marks and yes, they've just been boiled in a pot and barbecue sauce on them. The manager came out again and said I'm sorry that you're disappointed twice I will not charge you for any of the food. We left we will not go back.!! service was good, but the food was not. It's pretty good, just nothing special. It's fairly dressed up but the food isn't what I'd call top shelf city quality. All in all bad, just not something I'd want where I live now when they have so many better options. For Dyersburg, a small town with nothing in it, it's okay. I'd still rather just go to Abe's when I'm in town. Because I live in the golden triangle of Kentucky where Lexington, Louisville, and Cincinnati are here, there are way way better options. This place is excellent! The service was very friendly, and helpful! The menu had a large variety of food to choose from! Me and my husband both had a different appetizer he had the crawfish and alligator bites and I had the fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese, both delicious! We both had ribeyes, his med rare and mine med well, both cooked to perfection(melt in your mouth), the Brussel sprout cook perfectly! He had a locally crafted beer, Reelfoot October Fest excellent, and my Bloody Mary was awesome! So I definitely recommend this place!! read more

The drinks were good and well mixed and I enjoyed the salad as well. I will say that the place has a lot of young staff that are a little too immature and not well trained. I overheard a couple of young staff members gossiping right in front of patrons, one waiter was yawning as he was talking to guests and they were just not attentive overall. I ordered a ribeye with scallops and a loaded baked potato. The potato was good and cooked to perfection. The ribeye on the other hand was very thin and had no taste. I am accustomed to not having to put anything on a good steak but for this one I needed salt. The scallops were cooked well but I do not know that they were worth 4 scallops for $8.00. Lastly, the decor was very cheap looking and there were almost too many lights for a good steakhouse. The floor was polished concrete but was so slick I felt like I was going to fall. The foos was excellent!! I had the blackened chicken breast and they were delicious!! I added a salad as a side and it was wonderful!! We did order the fried green tomatoes with the pimento cheese dip and it was superb!! The service was excellent, in fact so great that I left my credit card and he had turned it in to management. Only been twice so far. it wasn't bad, but with all the hype, I was expecting a little better. Our server seemed knowledgeable enough, but not very attentive to customer needs. Loved the sweet potato fries! steak had to be sent back because not cooked right. server was apologetic but still seemed irritated. maybe at the kitchen but felt more towards us. glad we tried it since it was new to the area and locally owned, but will likely go somewhere else for the money rather than giving it another try soon read more

Stopped in last night after a wedding rehearsal and realized we had been there before when passing through. Everything was mediocre to good - definitely nothing exceptional. My rainbow trout tasted good, but looked like it had been folded up in the attempt at plating it. We were there 2 hours before closing and the place was nearly empty.
