We were sitting at a nearby eatery having a cocktail outside when we saw table 5 setting out and preparing their tables, chairs, napkins, tablecloths with such care. I then consulted Yelp and we decided to give Table 5 a try. The interior is very pretty, decorated nicely with a good mix of tables to allow some privacy. We opted to dine outside because it was such a beautiful evening in Northville. We were seated at a cozy table and met with a hospitable server who made the meal even better. They start you off with house made bread with whipped, flavored butters. The special butter of the day was banana bread flavor. Oh my, what a treat! I love the creativity and the effort! It was very much appreciated! We had a lovely and I mean very lovely appetizer which was the whipped ricotta with peaches, toasted pistachios and blueberries. It was served with herbed bread and this was nothing less than spectacular! I couldn't stop dipping. The mains were the filet with whipped mashed potatoes along with asparagus. This was devoured and resulted in being a member of the clean plate club. Kudos to the chef, perfect steak! We also had the wedge salad with green goddess dressing. This was really tasty, fresh and filling. We were so full and satisfied so their famous butter cake will have to wait until our next visit. I hope that will be in the very near future! We had a beautiful evening out in Northville and decided to give Table 5 a try. If you've been to the area, there are quite a few neat restaurants in town. A friend of mine recently moved to the area and wanted to check out the food scene. Table 5 is an upscale restaurant featuring a unique flavor twist to the traditional menu. Everything sounded delicious but we decided on the calamari with a butter beurre blanc sauce, the trout and halibut entrees, and a salad with fried goat cheese. Wow!!!! The flavors were popping! My halibut was served atop a polenta, tomato purée. It was divine!! We ordered a few rounds of cocktails which were great! Our server did an exceptional job! The ambiance is nice with the exposed brick and I love to support local businesses but this was a bit lacking. We were considering taking some friends to dinner here but they didn't impress us. My second time to have dinner at Table 5. I have come a few times for drinks at the bar. The bar is small, but a large counter and just cool. Reasonable prices and the bartender makes great martinis - love the stuffed blue cheese olives they make inhouse. Everyone we met was so friendly and welcoming - from the hostess to the bartender to our server Jeff. Our server was friendly and helpful. He was reasonably attentive, but they had an issue in the kitchen and the large table next to us had been there over 90 minutes without food they told us. Losing their order backed everything up apparently, so we had a wait on our hands as well, but not as bad as the table next to us. They were not happy, but the manager seemed to do her best to make things right for them. It happens. We started with the special Octopus appetizer. It was very good and tender. Sharable for two, but a stretch for 3, so good that one of us was not keen on octopus. I would definitely recommend it. For our entrees, the Halibut and the Chicken CHASSEUR were delicious and recommended. I had the special pheasant and would not recommend it as prepared (overcooked). I came here for a girls night. Reservations highly recommended. This place gets busy! Parking is easy. So much around the downtown Northville area. We started off with Christmas cocktails - anything holiday related is my jam! I had the Christmas sparkler made with champagne and St. Germann. Cheersy! We started off with the smoked trout with crackers to share. We received complimentary bread with house made butters. So good! For dinner, I ordered the herb crusted halibut with miso risotto and boy chok. Yummy. Food is fantastic here! For dessert, we shared the gooey butter cake. Met a friend here on a Wednesday evening for dinner. Sat outside as the weather was glorious. Our server was fast and was able to get a mocktail creation for my friend that she enjoyed. We ordered two starters to share and it ended up being a fairly bread heavy meal. We had Black Mission Figs with the bacon molasses separate for me as my friend is vegetarian. I wanted to eat that with a spoon all on it's own! Thick, sweet and salty deliciousness. We both thought the Camembert mousse was a bit strong. The Welcer Farms Caprese was perfection because it's tomato season and all the elements worked amazingly well together. But both of our favorite bites were the Chocolate Pot de Creme. We had a great Valentine's Day dinner here! Yes it's Valentine's Day and the menu doesn't really reflect their normal fare, but overall, we really enjoyed our experience. Our server was friendly and helpful as we went through the menu and was happy to talk over our choices. The food was exactly what we hoped it would be. The steak was wonderfully tender and tasty, and the scallops melted in my mouth. This kind of food is really about the quality of the taste rather than the quantity, and it really delivered! I was a happy camper. This restaurant offers a fancier fair than where we would usually go, but it's a great place to go for a special occasion. Zack the chef and Mike the server and Wyatt the concierge made for an awesome experience. We had the rack of lamb, the mezzaluna, the trout and the green circle roasted chicken. Everything was over the top delicious food at a a leisurely pace. Mike described the food perfectly allowing us to make perfect choices on entrees and desserts. The craft cocktails were delightful as was the wine. The lamb was tender, the chicken crispy and flavorful. We also got the cheese plate and grilled artichokes. This was a solid five stars all across. The mezzaluna was good, plated with morels and peas but I never got to the trout. Dessert choices of the pot de Creme and the strawberries and cream paired with a tawny port was an awesome finish. So many good things to say about Table 5, this is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The staff always warm and friendly and attentive but not too attentive. Vibe is swanky and but not pretentious, great for casual dining or a spot to impress the first date. Has a full bar and wine list to prime the pump for a fun night out. The menu is short and seasonal just like it should be, you won't be overwhelmed by a 5 page 300 item menu that makes you wish you wen't through Wendy's. We had an amazing experience here for my friends birthday dinner! It was pouring rain when we walked in and the staff was so nice and got some towels to help dry off. Had a few drinks each, tuna tartare as an appetizer (very good), and had one of the specials for my meal. It was a crab and shrimp stuffed diver sole and it was incredible. Do yourself a favor. Save your money. This place sucks. Server was flat out rude and obnoxious. We had a reservation. We were waiting inside the little vestibule while there was an open table ready to be seated. 15 minutes go by and another couple walks in. After that, another 5 minutes go by and another couple walks in. The lady with dark hair in a ponytail and glasses (bartender) proceeds to seat the other two couples after we told her we had been waiting for 20 minutes. Table 5 remains one of my favorite local restaurants. I look forward to their creative menu and professional staff and have always had exemplary dining experiences throughout the years. It offers a prix fixe menu, 3 courses for $25, on Wednesdays. Guests get a choice of two apps and one entrée; this small plates menu varies week by week. When I dined here, the choices were: Course 1: Leek, fennel, cheese and pancetta bruschetta OR Beer mussels with sweet corn and chorizo Course 2: Green salad with roasted corn, queso fresco and impossibly thin malanga chips OR Summer squash soup Course 3: Pork loin with mashed veggies and green beans OR Red snapper in miso honey with pineapple studded rice in a ponzu sauce Already a fan of the Lussier mussels on their dinner menu, I went with the Beer Mussels. A nice portion of mussels are prepared in a well-seasoned beer broth with thinly-sliced red onion rings, sweet corn kernels, and crumbled spicy sausage. This was a nice change from the classical mussel preparation or even the spicier Lussier-styled version. Next up, I enjoyed the refreshing green salad, served with roasted corn, a mild creamy cheese, mini peppers (that looked like grape tomatoes) in a citrusy vinaigrette. By now, with three rolls and two different types of compound butter (cinnamon/apple), I was quite full and wondering how I could move on to yet another course, and dessert, of course. The main entrée was smaller than the others but flavorful, nonetheless. The snapper, about 1-1.5 oz (guesstimate on my part - and I'm not great at it) had sweet overtones, enhanced with fruity pineapple rice pilaf, whereas the pork loin was served with anise-flavored accompaniments. I had intended on having the Parmenter cider doughnut pudding (so good!) for dessert but the server recommended the butter cake instead. Both are different takes on bread pudding and vanilla cake, respectively. The server described it as a creamy (from the cream cheese), blondie-type cake. I thought it was a bit like chess pie, with a slightly grittier texture - and without the crust, of course. Served with raspberries and Chantilly cream, it was a pleasant end to a fun meal. So here we go again people!!! Table 5 is in the gorgeous downtown area of Northville, MI. Awesome location and walking distance to a stack of great spots from breakfast to late... Solid wine list. I took my girlfriend here for a New Year's Eve dinner I looked at the website and the food looked very good and was not crazy expensive. After we sat down and ordered drinks the server told us they have a special menu tonight and it was 130$ a person the regular menu was about 35$-50$ a dish. It was not disclosed when I made the reservation. (If I knew that I would never have booked this) I was shocked and put in a horrible position to say something but I couldn't walk out we already ordered drinks and how was I going to find a substitute for dinner on new years. And I was extremely embarrassed to tell my girlfriend that this was too much for me. I bit the bullet and we ordered our courses. I had high expectations due to the price and we waited over two hours just to get our first appetizer course. The total wait was 3-3.5 hours for our meal to conclude and the food was absolutely not worth the high price tag. It bothers me that it was not disclosed to us until after we had already sat down and had a drink. It was a very unpleasant and disappointing experience. The total bill was 375$. I could've taken her to countless restaurants elsewhere and had a much better meal for half the price. I will not be going back here this restaurant embarrassed me and deceived me and I felt powerless to do anything. read more

Had guests in town & my wife selected Table 5 as THE spot for our 6 seat center-of-the-room round table. Our exceptional server was Ken, who deftly recommended wines, and offered up the house's special Manhattan. The beverages arrived in a snap along with our Lobster claw appetizer, which we decimated. Entrees we're jotted briskly after detailed accoutrement recitals. The Chef's soup du jour had a Moroccan chickpea spicey edge to it that required a refill of their warm homemade dinner rolls to scoop the last few molecules from the China. My pan seared Halibut was buttery with a sharp parmesan risotto, simply fabulous. My gal had her favorite Walleye which she coveted & Mickey devoured his Charbroiled Veal chop. Timmy hit the nail on the head when he stated "love going to a restaurant & ordering something I'll never cook at home!" Out of our group that dined, four were disappointed in their entree. It was served between room temperature and cold. Our waiter was apologetic and did offer a desert as complimentary . That still left the guests with a dinner that was not in any way even warm. It is important to note that their entrees are served with a bare minimum of a vegetable or starch. This is a cute little rustic restaurant in heart of Northville! We came here for a friend's birthday dinner and I immediately loved the space. It's a small space but opens up past the hostess stand (not by much though). With sloped ceilings, exposed brick, and being dimly lit, it's a very intimate but beautiful atmosphere. We had a reservation and were seated right away, except we were seated next to the hostess stand which felt like our table was in the middle of the restaurant and in the way of everyone. It was also really close to the door and being winters in Michigan, the door opening/closing made us shiver each time. I kind of wis they could rearrange the tables just to accommodate for that. The food menu was pretty good, but not a lot of vegetarian options. In fact, there was only 1 on the main entrees and it was a pasta dish. It also cost almost $20. Nothing spectacular about the dish, but it was tasty, so whatever. They have salads, soups and a few appetizers but you can tell this is a typical "Italian-ish" fine dining restaurant that serves up things like scallops, steak, pasts with meat sauces, etc. My friends had pretty good meals. Where this place loses a LOT of marks is the service we had. Our server was pretty much non-existent. After we were first seated we didn't have anyone come to our table for about 10-15 minutes. And when he did come over, we got menus, but then he forgot water for the water glasses so he disappeared again. And then we didn't see him for another 10 min, but he was at other tables. When he finally did come back and we were ready to order, someone at our table made a comment about his absence which made him give us the cold shoulder even more. He never spoke to us again, except to ask about check and clearing our plates. While this place was a pretty good restaurant, lack of well-rounded dishes for all appetites and diets and poor service means I probably won't return. read more

The service, ambiance, and the table was great. Also the Tuna appetizer was nice. My husband ordered the chicken, it was dry and tasteless, came with mashed potatoes drown in butter. I had the duck, which was also tasteless aside from the gamey flavor, which you should not taste if the chef is good. Not worth the money, I will not return. read more
