This place reminds me ALOT of Arizona Charlie's (Las Vegas) without all the smokers, crossed with a smaller version of Kasey's of Walled Lake. It's a quiet, dark tavern (as you can see from the pictures) on the edge of Northville with a bunch of excellent "seasoned" waitstaff. Food was really good, and service was great. Another hidden gem! I honestly do not know how this place has such a high review marking. We came here to play pool but there were people already playing pool so we were going to just eat something at the restaurant. we stood where another couple was just standing before they got sat at a table. We stood there for 4 to 6 minutes before someone even spoke to us and said a table should open up any minute now. 2 ladies at a table were getting up and pointed at us and the table they were getting up at, the insisted we grab it before the table was grabbed (I guess that's how they run things there idk) So when the waitress walked by I explained to her what happened and she only smiled at me (ok) I'm not sure what that means. We waited about 10 to 15 minutes for the table to get wiped down afterwards. Then just sat there still waiting for menus. After the waitress finally gave up the menus we got to ordered. The waitress was taking drinks order's for every table all at once while was in all putting her behind. I use to be a waitress for 15 years I know a thing or 2 I have patience and emphasis with them as they were busy. But this waitress needs a better strategy on how she handles her tables and she might get better and tables won't sit and wait long times for ordering and etc. When we were ready for the bill and a box she brought me the box but no bill.i had to wait 15 minutes for a bill that the other waitress grabbed for us. All and all I will not be back , the food wasn't so good either. The personal pizza seemed like a frozen dough with toppings they just threw on. I did like the steak frys though. Really bad experience here and felt very u welcomed the whole time. A solid four for me. I see a lot of people casting shade on the bartenders and the wait staff. They refer to this place in derogatory terms, like dive bar or that they were treated rudely. One person even suggested that they were over served alcohol after bitching about the lack of alcohol in their drinks, which resulted in legal issues for the author of the post. Truly this particular person is probably a moron of the highest level. My experience with the employees here was great and the owner introduced himself to a friend and I. It's our usual casual place and service had always been great! Today we arrived at 4:30 and headed to a table that was "reserved" and was told to sit elsewhere. Ok no problem. We sat at the table by the booth. So they knew we were there. We waited a minute for drink order which came eventually. Server passed us once and said he would be right with us. Two Other couples tried to sit in the reserved booth and sat elsewhere. Strangely both couples' orders for food were taken before coming to us. We finished our drinks and waited more. Insult to injury we asked for our bill (for two drinks) and were given a bill that included food. Had to wait to clear that up. For a fast casual place we left after 45 minutes and went Sheehan's on the Green. Sat immediately, popcorn in a minute, enjoying our drinks and food is ordered. Even offered a refill on popcorn (declined). So 45 minutes wasted at Wagon Wheel. Not their usual standard and very disappointing. read more

If you're in Northville and want cheap drinks, great burgers, and awesome homemade Spoke corned beef sandwiches with waffle fries, this dive bar is the place! You can even play pool and darts while you wait for your food. Our service started off slow with a waitress who seemed uninterested, but the bartender saved the night by stepping in and making sure we got our drinks and food after our waitress disappeared. I know my review is going to get lost in the sea of 5 stars. We decided to explore and remember good old times and play some darts, apparently bars that have darts is hard to come by, so this establishment was chosen for all the wonderful reviews and close proximity to downtown Northville. Saturday at 7pm was not too busy, mainly older couples having dinner. Sat in the corner with a group of 5 of us close to the darts and pool table. No waitress in sight, asked a bartender for a waitress, a solid 10 minutes later we got our waitress that was showing with all her presence how annoyed she is with us, been there or who knows what else. Ordered drinks and food, after it arrived, never came back to ask if we wanted anything else or another round of drinks, which we had to order from the bar, cashed out at the bar as well. Food was great burgers, waffle fries, onion rings and chili 5 star. Dive bar with good food, darts, pool table and mediocre service at best that ruins it. read more

Rock me Mama like a Wagon Wheel! This place does indeed rock. Nice bartenders, keno, great drink specials, and my favorite shot: mini beers. They have the typical bar food menu and while I haven't sampled much here the breaded mushrooms were on point. There are dartboards, pool tables and a rockin' jukebox. Do yourself a favor and play Darius Rucker's Wagon Wheel and sing along to it since you're in the Wagon Wheel (it's mind blowing). The people here are friendly and many seem like regulars. It has a Cheers feeling but with a dive bar vibe. And hey if there's a bar where everyone knows your name you're probably an alcoholic! I've had nothing but good times at the WW! read more

Got yelled at for sitting at a high top table and ordering from the bar as if we were supposed to know that each table has a server. Got told by the bartender that he wouldn't run our card again if we closed our tab but wanted to order another drink. Drinks were SO weak I wouldn't be surprised if they forgot the alcohol. So when reviewing a new place, I tend to start with standard, hard to screw up, food items. Chicken fingers for example. If a place has bad chicken fingers, there's little hope for other items. With Wagon Wheel I started with a timeless, classic, burger. And I was very happy with it. If you want some bizarre burger with an unusual combination of items and cheeses or some odd mixture of meat, this is maybe not the spot. But if you want a good ol burger, my experience was very good. One thing they nailed was the meat itself and the seasoning. They also have a very good buttered bun. The seasoning was dead on and it's surprising how many places get this wrong. I also really like the size of their burger. It's not small and won't leave you hungry, but it's not one of those obnoxiously large and impossible to eat burgers that leave a terrible mess on you and the plate and are a challenge to eat. All the toppings are fresh and crunchy as well. It's just a damn good burger. The service was also prompt and very friendly. Additionally, I really like the divey atmosphere. It's very non-pretentious and reminds me of the places in my smaller hometown. I'll be back to try different food items, but my initial perception is very very good. I loved my experience. I loved my food. And I look forward to going back. read more

Solid food, perfectly divey, I didn't notice a smell? I came here with a friend because someone we knew was on Jeopardy and we wanted to go out and watch it together. We ended up just going to my house after a few drinks because it was way too loud to hear the TV, but as long as you're not trying to do that, it's great! Hadn't been to the Wagon Wheel for ages - didn't like the rude Host they had on Friday and Saturday for Karaoke. Well, he's gone, and the woman who replaced him is great! Although I'm 74, one of the oldest people there, I had good reactions to both songs I did: The Greatest Love Story and Father Figure. I think I was in great voice last night, and the audience let me know that they appreciated me. Look, I'm really not one to leave a bad review, but what I saw last night was absolutely unbelievable and a damn near health code violation. Me and a friend went in for a quick drink. We asked for 2 shots chilled, the bartender starts making the shots and stirs it with ice and I notice when she went to strain the liquor into the shot glass, she used her fingers to prevent the ice from coming out and let the liquor wash through her fingers.... I came here the other night for a booze fueled karaoke night for my friend's birthday. We took up half the bar and they couldn't have been nicer or more patient, especially after we ordered plate after plate of waffle fries (HOLY COW THOSE WAFFLE FRIES!). I specifically ate when I was at home so I wouldn't be tempted to eat a bunch of unhealthy bar food fir dinner. Little did I know this bar food was so be presented in front of me smelling and looking like heaven. I ate anyway. The waffle fries. Yes, the waffle fries they are good. Nice and seasoned. The onion rings ruled my world. The pizza looked spectacular (I did refrain from eating some of this but it looked amazing and cheesy and I have much regret). They also had these fantastic mozzarella stuffed bread sticks. Yes, please. I'll take two orders. So yes, the food is basic bar food. Incredibly unhealthy for you. But it is good. Very good. The drinks, they are cheap. My friends kept ordering pitcher after pitcher of beer but I stuck to the $3.75 gin and tonics. They weren't terribly strong or probably the best quality gin but it provided just enough liquid courage to get up and sing during the karaoke portion of the night and I didn't wake up with a headache or an empty wallet the next morning so....WIN. The karaoke was a blast. The woman running it is fun but no-nonsense. If you disappear from the room when she calls you she's not gonna like it. It's just busy and everyone wants to sing, so I get it. Just make sure you tell her when you're leaving. Be polite and you'll be golden. The bar itself is split into two sections which makes karaoke a little odd. To the right of the bar is a spot with gaming tables and way more seating area, but you can't really see the "stage." I didn't spend any time there that night so I don't know what the sound was like but just prepare should you be going to rock the mic. The staff was nice but I think a little understaffed for the volume that evening. A couple of times I had to wait quite a while for my drink but I didn't mind since I knew they were working their hardest. Plus I could have used a breather. ;) Ah yes, Wagon Wheel. I shall be back. I love the Wagon Wheel. I always come here when I'm home from Denver for the holidays. Inside, the Wagon Wheel is dimly lit with multi-colored Christmas style lights strung up all year long. The booths and chairs are dark wood that haven't been updated in a while (in a charming way). It makes you feel like you're walking into a Northville establishment; which, of course, you are. The service isn't the swiftest, but it's friendly. The drinks are stiff and the billiards tables are plenty. It's a great bar to spend an entire night at since you can get food, drink at the bar, and then continue your conversations over a game of pool or darts. read more

We haven't gone here often. It's usually after a work function with several office mates. Some visits have been years apart, but stopping in again a few weeks ago proved the Wagon Wheel is always the same. We've moved our own tables around to sit together (somehow it hasn't been very busy when we stop in). The service was fine. Don't be fooled by how 'quaint' Northville can seem. It's a very long walk from Genitti's to the Wagon Wheel on a cold December night - especially in high heels after a work party. read more

Oddly, I appreciated this place much more before Michigan's smoking ban. I'm not sure what it was about the smoke that made the food and drinks taste better. That said, this is the best (only?) dive bar in Northville. There is some serious karaoke, reasonably priced drinks, and decent fried food. The staff here is friendly and quick. If I could leave zero stars I would... Because this was truly a regrettable experience - My boyfriend and I came in at just after 5 o'clock to have a few appetizers and a beer at the bar... We decided to take our beers over to the pool table after playing Keno while we were waiting for our appetizers to arrive... The waitress at the bar shortly after our food came out brought our food over to us at the pool table and let us know that we were no longer welcome at the bar because we were hogging two seats at the bar while also playing pool although there were many seats (9 we counted at the bar) still open. The frustrating part was that we were just playing a game of pool to pass the time while we were waiting for appetizers to come up we had planned on having another few beers and dinner and enjoying the night together on a date. Instead our food was brought over to us and then we were told that we needed to finish our pool game up this was at 5:50 for a tournament that started at 7 PM... we have never felt so uninvited and then establishment as long as we have been together- locals only apparently we were not offered a box or another round after our first beers were finished and the waitress made eye contact with us several times... We had to ask for our tab so that we could leave awkwardly... We will never be back read more
