This place has done a 360... service, food, atmosphere was great. Nick at the host stand was very helpful and management checked in on our meal. We've hoped for improved service for over a year and there's been meaningful change. read more

First time visiting Doyles weekend before St.Patricks day. Two level restaurant more casual sitting area downstairs and a pub vibe upstairs. Service was very prompt and food came out fast. Food was delicious and full of flavor. White fish appetizer was great with a nice touch of red caviar on top Fish and chips were good and coleslaw was not premade Stew was delicious and hearty Chefs special fish was a nice and flaky Brisket burger was decent a bit greasy. Dessert was a bit of a miss the donuts with dip was a let down due to the dryness and chocolate dessert the shell was extremely hard to break. Drinks were good. read more

Beautifully decorated and architecture. Good service and very friendly. Delicious Ruben!! The shoestring fries are just regular thickness but still yummy! The fish and chips were really good too! Good beer list. Sat downstairs on the couch and chair and it was so cozy! Upstairs is open with many tables and a beautiful bar. There is an elevator if needed to get to the top level. We'll be back with a group next time! read more

We had a very mediocre dinner at Doyles. The Paddy burger was pretty good, though a tad dry. It didn't come with anything, so I ordered a side of onion rings. They were just ok, and I wouldn't order them again. The value of the place was lacking - $27 for a hamburger and 6 onion rings. read more

Let me start by saying we've been to Doyle's a couple of times. The food is good, but they've taken away several of our favorite items! SO SAD! No more roasted turkey club or pot pie. And the Jameson's Bread Pudding was to die for, but again - gone. Not sure what's going on.... On the other hand, it's still lovely. The patio is beautiful and the service has always been good. Had Rachel on Friday and she was amazing! Very helpful, made excellent recommendations, and super attentive. Even though she looked busy, we never felt neglected. We'll be back for a football game next! read more

Irish Pub hidden away in the rear of St John's Resort. Its on two separate levels, the ground floor being a dining room of sorts with low tops, couches, and a big screen TV. The bar is upstairs but I did not visit it. They make a solid fancy Old Fashion and have an eponymous Single Barrel of bourbon distilled in Detroit. Its pretty good. The brisket smash burger was tasty. Didn't try the Guiness. It is convenient for most guests of the hotel and it is a quiet spot if that's what you are looking for as a local - the bar was half empty during the Michigan/OSU game. I'm taking a couple of stars off because accessibility was an afterthought when it was designed. A hazard of old buildings. There is no wheelchair access within the hotel - you'll want to drive around to the back to use its parking lot. Additionally, to get to the restroom or the second floor of the pub you'll need to use one of smallest prefab dumb waiters I've ever been in. It works but know that you'll need to navigate that. read more

The food was great and there were big portions. Our waitress was kind and friendly. There was an event upstairs and the service was still timely. The only complaint I really have is that when we arrived the hostess wasn't there so another staff member sat us. When the hostess returned she very rudely told us we aren't allowed to seat ourselves because "it's her job." It put an immediate bad taste in my mouth but the food and service made up for it. Also, try the cheese curds! read more

"But when I see you darlin' It's like we both are fallin' in love again It'll be just like startin' over" (John Lennon) Doyles has indeed started over, and they are experiencing growing pains. The pub inside the St. John's Resort was closed for a long time during and after COVID. It was remodeled, rebranded and very recently re-opened. One thing our group noticed was that food was being brought up the staircase on trays by their servers, so the kitchen is downstairs somewhere. That added to the very long delays we experienced during our group lunch in an otherwise empty Doyles. I had a Cluck of the Irish Chicken Sandwich served with chips that was very good. I went for grilled instead of fried and it was prepared well, juicy and tender and not dried out. I also had some of their Irish Nachos which were a big hit at my table. The interior is gorgeous, and the food was very good. I think they just need a) a little more experience and b) maybe a few more bodies to efficiently figure out the workflow. Give them a chance, because when they get into a better rhythm, Doyles has all the signs of being fabulous. read more

Great new spot located at Saint John's Resort. Officially opened for one week! Love that so many new places are opening in this beautiful boutique hotel. My husband and I stopped by for in for a late lunch. We were seated on the first floor near the window. Nice that we didn't need reservations. Great place to stop after golfing or if you want to lounge on their patio. Lots of games including corn hole and giant Jenga. Although the patio is not enclosure, Doyles is not dog friendly. Our waitress, Alexis, was great. She was attentive and nice. We ordered the patty melt with onion rings and the brisket burger with Brussel sprouts. The patty melt and onion rings were so good! My husband enjoyed his brisket burger too. The Brussel sprouts were undercooked. He wishes he would have gotten the house made chips. We saw another table and they looked great. For dessert, we ordered a chocolate malt milkshake. Great for sharing! Not too much of a malt taste, more of a chocolate shake. We will definitely be back! read more

Our group decided to try Doyles Irish Pub after a morning of pickleball. We had 7 ppl in our party. They got a table together for us upstairs. The pub is decorated just as you might imagine, golf equipment , apparel and tartan. We were greeted and offered drinks. We asked about the daily pot pie and our server needed to get their phone so they could check the details. We ordered our food and we waited and we waited. Not sure what the problem was, the place was not full at all. One in our party had to take their food to go due to the unusually long wait. The food was good not great. Typical. I would give them another try but based on speaking with others, it is hit or miss with this place. read more

Really cool atmosphere and good quality pub food. Outside seating in the summer. Surprising that this place doesn't get more traffic

I've been to this local spot in Plymouth a few times now, and I'm honestly kind of surprised by how many negative reviews it has. I've tried a bunch of different things on the menu, and everything I've had has been really good. The food is consistently solid. That said, I totally get why some people complain about the service. It can be a little hit or miss, but I mostly blame it on them being a newer place that's still figuring things out, plus it feels like they're oftentimes short-staffed (which seems pretty normal these days). The drinks are well made and delicious, but yeah, they're on the expensive side if you're just stopping in for cocktails and not eating. Right now there are other restaurants nearby that I usually pick instead, but I'm hopeful. If they keep working on things, this could easily turn into one of my regular go-to spots. A couple things they could improve: More consistent front-of-house presence. I've walked in several times and there's literally no one at the host stand or anywhere to greet you, which feels awkward, especially after a few minutes has passed. The bar staff can get pretty chatty with each other, and sometimes you end up hearing way more about their personal lives or work gripes than you expected. It can make ordering a drink or food feel like you're interrupting their conversation. Overall, the food and drinks are great. If you're in the area and don't mind a little patience while they grow, definitely give it a try! read more

Cannot say enough about the bartenders and servers at Doyles. We were there for a rehearsal dinner and crew were fabulous about making drinks to order, handling a large crowd, and making everyone feel like a priority. Behind the bar, Jen, Rachel, and Mark took care of all our needs and, when we were at the tables, Mikey was proactive and responsive to anything we needed. Their willingness to go above and beyond made such a difference for us all! Couldn't ask for anything more! So many thanks! read more

Nice setting and service was good, but the food was overpriced and not very good. We had brussels sprouts as a starter, and they were nasty. The sprouts were breaded and deep fried. My shepherd's pie was served in a baked potato - nice presentation, but not much meat and was not flavorful. My son's Reuban was OK, but nothing special. Prices are very high for the quality and amount of food. Will not be back in spite of the lovely setting. read more

After a round of golf nearby, our group was looking forward to a nice meal here. We called ahead to see if we could make a reservation, but were told they weren't accepting any--even though we arrived to find at least two dozen empty tables. We weren't expecting special treatment, just a little flexibility and some basic hospitality. Instead, we were turned away without any reasonable explanation. It's frustrating when a restaurant chooses to prioritize arbitrary policy over welcoming paying customers--especially when it's clearly not due to lack of space. We took our business elsewhere, and unfortunately won't be returning. If you're looking for somewhere accommodating after golf or with a group, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. read more

Doyles Irish Pub - Outside of restaurant. Does not include the inside - Irish Pub Near Me - Plymouth, Michigan

This was our third attempt to bring our business to Doyle's. As with the first two times, the hostess was not happy to see us and told us there were no available tables. Meanwhile, all of the tables on the first floor were empty. Was told we could check upstairs to see if we could get two seats at the bar. Found two seats as other people were coincidently leaving. Since it is the first Friday of March Madness, we asked if a basketball game could be put on the TV. After 10 minutes of trying and then being told no basketball was on (there were actually 3 games on) it became obvious they don't have cable, satellite or anyone that can work their TVs. This was our last try for this place. Never was able to get food, hostesses are rude or non-existent and the place is not staffed with people that can't run a tavern. read more

Outstanding service from Teresa! Teresa was absolutely amazing--friendly, attentive, and made our experience feel so special. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and her warm personality really stood out. The food was great, but Teresa's service made the whole visit exceptional. Highly recommend asking for her next time! read more

Slow service with hardly anyone there on Friday at 7pm which seems odd. My food was cold and flavor was nothing to write home about.

The ambiance is nice and a cute attempt at an Irish feeling inside. Our reservation was for eight people at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. First of all, the waitress brought the drinks out one by one, I'm not sure how they don't have a tray, but okay, fine, no big deal, just an observation. She commented that she is better behind the bar than serving and had GREAT difficulty getting our bills correct. I am most concerned, however, with the food. I am a pescatarian, and I get it. It sometimes makes life hard, but I decided to get lentil shepherd's pie, which is at the top of the menu and is one of their main recommended dishes. I received it in a hot pan with NO mashed potatoes, so I inquired. She had no idea and could not get an answer from the kitchen because the chef was out for the day...? (That's a bit concerning) She talked to the manager, and he said to bring it back to me and give me a side of mashed potatoes. I tried to make it work and ate what I could, but I only finished a little because eating any of it was most likely a mistake after the first bite. The dog food vibe was taking over, and I realized the mashed potatoes were most likely not something I should be eating. The menu says the dish is vegan; I am NOT vegan, but what if I had an allergy to dairy? Those potatoes were not nonbutter (which I am not supposed to have butter). I kept my remaining food for a few reasons. I wanted to make sure I didn't get sick; if I did, I would have it to be tested, and secondly, to show my family so they believed me how horrible this truly was. Thank goodness I made it without getting ill, so the leftovers will now be heading to the trash! After dinner and the chaotic scene of getting our bills correct, we went outside to get a drink. The music was a continual repeat of the Irish Jig, a bit annoying. Drinks, dinner, and one drink outside were, in total, a 3.5-hour experience I am not willing to ever do again. One item I failed to mention, which I am unclear on the legal sanitary issue for this, but the bus person (a very sweet boy who was only doing what he was told, I am sure) brought the dish tub TO THE TABLE, and collected our dishes, placing them in the tub directly on the table. I have never seen that before and have worked in the restaurant industry (country club, dive bar, and restaurant). Usually, the dishes are removed from the table and placed in the kitchen or into a tub on a rack (although still tacky) near the table. It just was gross! I will not be back. read more

An experience so poor it has brought me out of my yelping hiatus. Big hype for us Northville/Plymouth peeps- the beautiful St. John's course and campus has reopened with an Irish Pub! Had reservations for brunch at 11am on Sunday. Sat on patio, there were 3 other tables sat outside and one inside. Didn't have a server come over until 11:20. At 11:45 we had not received our drinks, the other table who arrived before us was just receiving theirs when we searched for an employee or anyone to explain what the problem was, no one was to be found. Terrible service for a place that should be top notch. Hopefully they get it together. We left at 11:50 and went somewhere else. read more

My wife and I have been here a couple of times and it was just okay. We assumed they were still working out the kinks since they were still fairly new. We thought we'd give it another shot for a late lunch with our toddler. The three of us showed up without a reservation so we figured it was a slim shot we'd get in. It seemed surprisingly slow when we arrived. We were talking with a nice group of four behind us. They also didn't have a reservation. When we finally made it to the hostess stand, she told us they could not seat us because the empty tables were saved for reservations (outside patio was half full and nobody was seated inside)... but that's fine, we thought that might happen. However, they sat the group behind us that we had been talking with prior to approaching the hostess. I don't think we'll be back until we start seeing better reviews. I really hope Doyles can figure it out because I love the idea of it. read more

I order Shepard pie and was presented with Shepard Potato . It was a baked potato with maybe a couple of teaspoon inside and a heaping amount of mashed potatoes. It must be the poor man's version, and it was classified as a meal. It was expensive for a baked potato. read more

Been a few times and the service always bad because there are not enough waiters. We won't be coming back for a long time.

I was sort of excited about this place...I was a bit concerned about the reviews on yelp about service, but a friend told us the place was great, so we went for late lunch, arriving about 1:30pm. This was a destination stop, we are not nearby, and we like Irish pubs. We entered the bar from the hotel, on the second floor...a business meeting was going on with someone loudly making a presentation. We quickly made our way to the stairs to the first floor, where we went to the host station. The man at the station asked if we had a reservation, and when I said no, he told us it would be 20 minutes until he could seat two of us...the place was half full. I asked if we could wait in the bar (it's supposedly an Irish pub), and was told that was on the second floor. I said isn't there a business meeting going on up there? He said the bar was on the other side of the upstairs. He then Walked away. I asked a waitress walking by if there was a place we should wait, and she did say we could wait on benches outside or at some waiting tables inside. I asked where the exit was, and that was that. I've never been in an Irish pub (and I have been in a LOT of them) that required or even took reservations. I'm not sure what was going on with all the empty tables that we couldn't be seated at, but how is it possible that we were not immediately whisked to the bar to sell us high margin drinks while we waited??? I was dumbfounded that an establishment that aspires to be an Irish Pub was so lacking in hospitality. For gosh sakes, you're supposedly an Irish Pub, no one goes for the food, push the booze while we wait! And make it seem like a stop at the bar is part of the experience, something like: "while we clear and set up a great table for you, let us take you to the bar so you can sample out extensive collection of Irish whiskey or a nice frothy Guinness". An Irish Pub is not decor...it's hospitality. Work on that. "All are welcome. Please come in and sit by the fire...now, not in twenty minutes". Good luck. read more

Ambiance was great! Service was slow; waitress blamed it on being understaffed. Food was a 1 out of 5 -- just terrible. Wife ordered a Irish Stew. It was a bowl of gravy with virtually no solid ingredients (beef chunks or potatoes). I ordered a hamburger which comes with a paper-thin slice of brisket , coleslaw, some grossly undercooked bacon (despite I order it well done) and a soggy cold bun. We were surprised that any restaurant would serve such terrible lunches. Despite being hungry, neither of us came close to finishing our lunches. The table of ladies nest to us were complaining about their lunches too. read more

Food, service are both poor. Building is nice. They're trying, but really not making any progress. Ugh.

Doyles - not much more than a pretty face. Atmosphere: the space is beautifully decorated, colorful and definitely turning the "Irish" up to 11, even if it is a little heavy handed at times. Service: server was nice enough but it took a full hour just to get our appetizers. Food temp was hit and miss-- some things were probably sitting while others cooked. Food: Not sure why in the age of food globalism, no one can make a proper fish and chips. Came out as two fish fingers and some stale fries. Inexcusable for the price tag of $23. The bar food (and wings and quesadilla) was fine at best. We'll call it "good for an Applebee's". The Ruben was solid but again, definitely not cheap. Value: Nope. Value doesn't mean cheap, it just means that what you paid for punches above its weight, and unfortunately Doyles just punches your wallet for an underwhelming meal. read more

The ambiance of Doyle's was really nice, unfortunately the actually preparation of the food fell extremely short of expectations. The pub is fairly new so with better focus in the kitchen perhaps this is something they can improve. I had the steak frites and my husband had the reuben on gluten free bread. The streak frites were tough and room temperature served with over salted fries (cold) instead of the house potato wedges as the menu described. There was also a large amount of spring mix side salad size but no dressing on the plate and the server said it was a garnish and offered to bring out some dressing. My husbands meal first came out with regular bread so the sever was not paying attention or did not write down the GF bread request. His revised meal came back 10 minutes later hot but the sandwich was missing the dressing and sauerkraut and there did not appear to be the 1/2 lb of corned beef on the sandwich. The experience was a disappointment because the location is beautiful but we've had better meals at a Wendy's. read more

Such a fun atmosphere! Great food!! The waffles are awesome and have a golf ball/shamrock logo inside. The view and patio are awesome, too!

I don't often leave reviews, but today's lunch is deserving of one. We were celebrating my mom's 83rd birthday. Had a reservation for noon. The restaurant was empty, but the hostess said that we had to sit upstairs. Our waitress - she didn't tell us her name - was nearly lifeless. We mentioned that we were celebrating my mom's birthday, and she couldn't even muster a smile. It took about 15 minutes to get the appetizer we ordered. It was missing the bacon and gravy which was an upcharge. Our order was placed at 12:15. The food didn't arrive until a few minutes before 1:00. Onion rings and soup were cold. The Shepard's pie was brought out 10 minutes after everyone else had their food - nearly an hour after ordering it. Unfortunately, my son had to get back to work so he ended up boxing up the Shepard's pie and leaving before everyone else. Our lifeless waitress was incredibly slow which sitting upstairs magnified. No ketchup brought to the table and mayo arrived after the sandwich was finished. Overall, a very expensive lunch with terrible service without even an acknowledgement or offer of apology for the mistakes and delay in getting our food. We had been told that Doyle's had worked out the serving issues that had plagued them since opening. I guess not. read more
