Some of the most amazing Indian food I've ever had. Extremely flavorful in the best way. So so delicious. The service was very good and attentive as well. Kind of an upscale vibe but still relatively casual. My rating for the espresso martini would be a 3/5 though. Not very good.. had a weird taste to it I couldn't quite figure out. If you value basic human decency, skip Tabla, Midtown. We dined here on Saturday, August 16th, 2025, and what unfolded was not just disappointing--it was disgraceful. My husband fell when a chair snapped beneath him, injuring his elbow. You'd expect staff to rush over, offer help, show concern, maybe even apologize. Not at Tabla. Not a single person--not even the manager who watched it happen--bothered to check on him. No empathy. No apology. No accountability. The staff's indifference was chilling. Their training clearly emphasizes collecting credit card details and enforcing a $700 minimum spend, but when it comes to actual customer care? Nonexistent. We were a party of ten, ready to enjoy a night out. Instead, we got flimsy furniture and a total lack of humanity. And the cherry on top? They charged us full price. We didn't ask for a discount, but any decent establishment would've offered something--a gesture, a token of goodwill. Instead, we got a measly 7% off an $800+ bill and a hollow promise from the manager that the owner, Sandeep Kothary, would call us. It's been two days. Silence. The food? Good. But unless you're prepared to risk injury and be treated like an inconvenience, I'd suggest you dine somewhere that values its guests as more than just a transaction. read more

I brought my sister to Tabla to celebrate her birthday and can say I enjoyed my experience. I'd made reservations earlier that day and upon arrival we were given the option to sit indoors or on the patio outside, and immediately seated. There were already a few people waiting to be seated on a Thursday night so it seems like a very popular place. In addition to being seated we were provided parking validation when asked, please ask for instructions because they were specific. We were immediately sat and greeted by our waiter who was very friendly and helpful in the selection process. We ordered a few appetizers, the duck and vegetable samosas, and the jalapeño and cheese naan. The samosas were nice the jalapeño and cheese naan I could've gone without. For entrees I ordered a coconut curry dish with shrimp and my sister had the lamb Josh Rogan if I remember correctly. I ordered the coconut curry thinking it was going to the mildest option because I had my little one with me, but it ended up being the spiciest out of both dishes. I loved the coconut curry dish because I'm a fan of spice, but just a forewarning coconut does not mean mild lol. The lamb Josh Rogan was very mild, the lamb was extremely tender and everything was flavorful. My only complaint was that portions felt a bit small for the price but other than that the food and experience were great. We went there on Tuesday night at the spur of the moment. We were visiting from out of town and the hotel was walking distance. As we were walking around the day before, the smells pulled us in. We order 3 small plates and the rumali roti (a very thin tortilla like bread). The food was very tasty and filled us up. We then had the rice pudding (me) and the rasmalai (wife) for dessert. I had lamb korma, and my friend is vegetarian so she had a vegetable curry dish, which looked delicious. The appetizers and the dinner came out, hot and fresh! We asked the server to split our checks, according to what we ordered. When we brought to his attention that there was something on one of the checks that I didn't order, he responded "but she paid for the appetizers". She paid for the appetizers because she wanted to. I didn't ask to pay for her beverage. But because it took so long for us to get a check, we just let it go. It's not the Price is the principal. My jail would the parking garage above the restaurant where you can only smell the delicacies being cooked below, but only smelling, never tasting. The aroma wafted around and a tingle started in my toes and then went to my nose. I have been enchanted by the smell and finally popped my head in. A take out order with duck samosa, butter chicken that comes with rice, and a cheese/jalapeño naan. - butter chicken - all the reviews talk about it and maybe I'm just a snob. But it was creamy and delicious, the right amount of meat. But I think there was a bit too much sweet, and would've appreciated a good spice hit. - duck samosa - honestly a huge disappointment. Dry and not very flavorful at all. Duck is fatty and you miss all of it here. - jalapeño/cheese naan - a bit over priced and just a naan quesadilla that is alright. I think the smell is amazing, though the food does not live up to that. There are water bottles that say if you smell it, the taste will be there. Not for me. Starting this review off by saying that I am a regular of Tabla. All of my sit down dining experiences here are fabulous. Literally everytime I walk by this place my mouth begins to water and it's hard to resist stopping in because you can smell their ambrosial food from a (long) Atlanta block away Leaving 3 stars because of their takeout experience. If you end up doing this on Uber eats and walking there - give yourself at least an additional 15 minutes after the order is "ready" to grab it. I'm completely fine with Indian food taking a long time because a GOOD curry takes patience. I can comfortably say my last tikka masala was a little watery - likely a result of it not being cooked down long enough. They also forgot the Naan in the order - which if you're an Indian food freak like me is worse than even the most heinous impulse-induced street crime. At $35 for Tikka Masala, Naan, and extra rice you expect a flawless execution - even while doing takeout. Leaving at 3 for now. May update later next time I go back in person! read more

My boyfriend and I were craving Indian food and decided to try out this restaurant in Midtown. There is street parking, but there's also a deck directly adjacent to the restaurant where you can get parking validated (otherwise the rate is $30/hr). We came to the restaurant on a Friday night around 7 pm and had to sit at the bar because we did not have a reservation. If you want to have a nicer dining experience, I don't recommend sitting at the bar (make a reservation in advance!). The seating at the bar is quite tight and there's nowhere to hang your purse. We ordered the duck samosa, lamb moilee, and shrimp biryani. The duck samosas were disappointing in that the duck was very dry and the fried pastry was quite thick. Of the entrees, I enjoyed the lamb moilee which was flavorful and creamy. I didn't enjoy the biryani because the rice was was too fragrant and spicy. The part I least enjoyed about our dinner was the bartender who served us. Although I understand the bartender was overwhelmed with serving the customers at the bar and making drinks, he was very aggressive in his service, which made the dining experience unpleasant. For one, he took away the samosa plate before I was done eating without asking (which I'm sure his intention was just to clear the table). Then, he would drop all the dirty dishes in a bucket very quickly, making the plates and bowls clash loudly. He also kept splashing me because he was very forceful when making drinks with this shaker. Again, I understand he's probably trying to be efficient, but as the customer that had to sit in front of him, it was a stressful dining experience. If I come back, I would definitely make a reservation. read more

We made reservations online and were seated immediately after arrival even though we were late. Food is very tasty. Definitely recommend the Lasooni Cauliflower for appetizers. Paneer Tikka Masala was a favorite. The Tabla Kofta is a unique twist to the Malai Kofta, however it was too sweet for our liking. The kofta was interestingly filled with saffron infused cheese. Again, interesting flavor, but not our favorite take on "Malai Kofta". Garlic naan and roomali rotli were prepared perfectly- very enjoyable and accompanied the gravies perfectly. Holy HOLY crap! This is the restaurant that makes you wish you had not given other restaurants 5 stars cause they deserve to be above...... Went with wife, older daughter and her significant other. We had the Lassoni Cauliflower,Butter Chicken, Saag Paneer (chicken), Parda Biryani (vegetable), and some garlic naan. It was all really good. Frankly, though - the butter chicken made me forget (almost) the other dishes. It is absolutely one of the BEST dishes I've ever had. The seasoning was on point and sauce actually creamy. That dish alone is a 5 star review. The service was really good - I have a tree nut allergy , alpha gal and am diabetic. My wife has a gluten allergy and is dairy free. We are restaurant nightmares. The staff listened to us and helped us through the menu. Funny enough though, the thing that impressed me was on the drinks - I was contemplating a old fashioned (their's is "spicy") and they brought me a sample of the drink (what?) to try before I ordered. I recommend the drink. We had some of the other specialty drinks and they were also good.... One thing (agin) about the old fashioned - it is smokey and I could really taste the flavor. Was lucky to share this meal with a great friend before making the move back to Minnesota. Ordered - Brussel Sprouts Bhel (5/5). This is so tasty. The fried brussel sprouts / cauliflower-like vegetables has been a recent discovery and I am loving it. It almost taste like general tsos. The chutney sauce that goes with it really helps equalize the flavors together and "cools" down the heat - Pudina Paneer Tikka (3/5). This was not too bad. I am not a big cheese person in general but it was a good appetizer. - Biryani (4/5). I forgot which one I ordered but this was tasty too. I've been coming to this restaurant for years and it remains my favorite Indian restaurant in ATL and one of my favorite restaurants overall in the city. Today, I sat with my vegetarian friends and so we tried the Brussels sprout behl, which was a little crunchy/sweet and all around delicious, the veggie samosas, the paneer tikka masala (the restaurant's tikka masala sauce is heavenly, and the dahi eggplant which had a slight kick and which was rich in flavor. We also had some of their delicious garlic nan to soak up the delicious sauces. The service is typically fast and the restaurant has a nice aesthetic on the inside with a small view into the kitchen. Food was pretty good HOWEVER it's SPICY & some ingredients are not listed on dishes- which is tricky for those of us with dietary restrictions Brussels sprouts were delicious! Very creative, not your run of the mill pile of roasted sprouts. They are cold, which was unexpected. Samosas were solid, the filling was a little spicier than expected. Channa pindi was good... though I couldn't eat much because it was spicy (can you see the theme here?) Cauliflower was good. Very small portion for $23! But the sauce was super tasty. Vegetable biryani. Presentation I've never seen-- in a copper bowl with bread (maybe roti) baked over it. Very cool. Although not listed in the ingredients IT HAS CHEESE, such a bummer for me as a vegan. So pro tip #2 is ask about the ingredients in every dish! Nice ambiance. Great service. Located in the heart of midtown! Tabla is an upscale ( heavyn on the up) indian restaurant with a very cool elusive vibe. You can park in the parking deck and they will validate your parking ( be warned its not a ton of spots in the deck for restaurants so you might have to circle around for a bit) The restaurant was a cool atmosphere. The food was good. I went with a party of 6 and my friend was able to make a reservation online which is great! There was great service. Water was always served. I think my biggest issue was i felt the portions were very small for the pricing. I got lamb rogan josh for $26 and it had about 5 small pieces of meat. It came with a little bit of rice but i felt like it couldve been bigger. It was tasty though i really liked the Palak Patta Chaat a lot which was a fried spinach appetizer with yummy sauces. I only ordered those two things and my total cost was $50 with a 20% tip but it is meant to be upscale so i get it but I think portions should be a little bigger for that cost. read more

This is elevated Indian cuisine in the best way! Food- Ok yall, I am new to trying Indian cuisine and what not, so let me outline the foods we tried , explained as a beginner: 1. Appetizers - samosas: classic, deliciously fried. The sauce accoutrements are fantastic. -cauliflower: THESE ARE AMAZING. I would eat these daily. They are mildly spicy but SO flavorful. Highly recommend 2. Entrees -Butter Chicken: holy smokes this was INCREDIBLE. If you are not a huge fan of spice and are trying Indian cuisine out I highly recommend tabla's take on this dish. It's not only flavorful but it is a very generous portion serviced with rice. This was the group favorite! -Malabar Fish Curry: this was recommended by our waiter and again, INCREDIBLE. The flavor was definitely more unique to someone new to Indian food but it was absolutely delicious. It has coconut undertones and is not curry forward. The fish pairs so nicely with this sauce. The fish was slightly over cooked but still flavorful and texturally a great contrast. -Paneer Pasanda: this is an Indian cheese but I would equate the texture to a very dense tofu with a LOT more flavor. It's heartier than it sounds and this is stuffed with delicious....something...but overall incredible. This meal had more nutty undertones and was very mild spice as well. I really enjoyed this but I think the other two entrees took the cake! -Naan: you should order this with your meal, not as an appetizer, so you can soak up those extra sauces. There definitely is leftover sauce! The onion naan surprised us as the favorite but the garlic was great too. We opted not to do the bread service, just the sides. Drinks- nothing to really write home about here. They do have a small cocktail menu with unique drinks as well as classics. No one was super impressed with these but they did not take away from the incredible food. Atmosphere- This place is way bigger on the inside than it seems. The inside is casual chic, probably on the fancier-adjacent side. I saw some folks dressed really nice and some dressed more casually (I always prefer to over dress myself!) There is a bar with TVs, so this does evoke a more casual environment. The back room where we sat seemed more formal. Service- Tabla accommodated our 7 person reservation about 5 days in advance with no problem, and we were seated right away. Something unique I did notice, was that the water was not served with ice. Other drinks were, but the water was not. No commentary there, just observation. Additionally the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Location- in the heart of midtown! This is a challenging place to park so I do recommend calling or seeking parking accommodations. I do believe there is a garage nearby that validates; however, we walked. Price:- entrees are around $18-$24 which for the portion and quality I would say is very reasonable! Overall delicious meal with great portions and great company! read more

I love this place! This is my favorite Indian restaurant that I've been to in Atlanta. I've come here twice and both times have been phenomenal! I love how they add a modern twist to traditional Indian food. They have some excellent appetizers. We got the crispy cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and chicken achari. The chicken was so tender and juicy! I could eat so much of it. Their naan is the BEST I've had at any Indian restaurant I've been to and it's so fresh! You can see them making it in the back! For the main dish, their lamb shank is excellent, the meat is so tender it completely falls off the bone. The taste of the sauce it comes in is also excellent. I will say, if you like spicy food, make sure you ask for it to be spicy, otherwise it won't be. We also got the lamb rogan josh, which is also delicious! The only thing that wasn't amazing was the tandoori chicken, I thought the chicken was a little dry and the sauce that came with it was too sweet. Definitely will be coming back! Dear Tabla, I was walking by after waffling forever on what I wanted to have for dinner after a long flight and thought, "hmmm, Indian cuisine sounds great right now!" So I came in. At first I was put off by the hosts, seemingly confused as to what I wanted (table for one) and where I was going (thought I was following her to see if there was a secluded spot at the bar) and if I was looking for someone (only a place to eat for one), but THEN! A spot opened up at the bar with spaces between me and other patrons and I was awarded with a seat with the most awesome bartender who recommended me the most awesome of eats and I then ended up in Vegetable Kolapuri bliss while eating all of the hot red that came with the dish that just ended up as ecstasy in my mouth when accompanied with the jalapeño naan and aromatic rice... We parked in the parking garage (Tabla validates parking for 2 hours while you dine with them). We waited for about 20 minutes for outdoor seating. Every time we go I am always pleasantly surprised by their hospitality. They made me a drink which I ordered incorrectly and they graciously went back to fix it. The appetizer and meal was delicious and flavorful. I am always pleased to try different options on their menu. The food is consistent and always served fresh. They were pretty busy and short staffed but the staff worked really hard to fill our water cups. They changed our silverware and plates between appetizers and main course. We will be back! read more

I had reservations for 8pm. We ordered our food and drinks at the same time. We received our drinks and appetizers in a timely manner but after an hour never received our entrée. When I asked about it I was told our food would be out shortly. After 20 more minutes, I asked management and was only given excuses and offered a 10% discount. I declined and said I'd like the bill for the drink and appetizers and we'd be dining elsewhere. He came back and offered to take the naan off of our bill and I declined.
