I was really quite unimpressed with this restaurant. They have received numerous reviews and some people claim it's the best Indian restaurant in Atlanta, but I don't agree. I had a reservation, but we were slow to get seated. They sat us in the back of the restaurant near the kitchen, where there was a lot of traffic and it was so loud we were practically yelling to speak to each other. The food was decent, but the servers definitely over hyped it. I packed most of it to go, because it just wasn't very appetizing. We were convinced to get the only dessert available because everything else was out. Again the server made it sound like it was so amazing and we were left unimpressed. Ubereats Order: Lamb Vindaloo Very tasty, full of flavor and spice. I was happy to find they include potatoes like some of my favorite Indian restaurants in Cali (very hot, and I love spicy food so tread carefully!) Rice is also included which is not usually the case with others. The lamb was very tender and the potatoes too. I was able to mix in my rice and dig in with a spoon. The vindaloo sauce was not too vinegary and watered down like you see at some of the lower quality Indian restaurants. I could taste many seasonings including a good balance of ginger. The only thing I would do differently is ask for extra potatoes. I will definitely be dining in when life is safer. I would give Table a 3.5 stars due to the fact that the person behind the bar is not a bartender. They did apologize for it, explaining they are short staffed and he did make an effort to look up how to make a manhattan but it's a bit silly. Oh well, I'm feeling generous because the food was good. We came here around 7 pm after a failed attempt at the federal and with no reservations. Only the bar and the patio options were available as they said they had everything reserved so use open table. For my drink I ordered a manhattan and it did take forever but I guess he managed ok for someone who's never made a drink before. For the app we tried the octopus tandori and it was pretty tasty. My main meal consisted of the lamb shank, which came with a side of white rice. I wish they had other rice options. The shank was decent, not overcooked but I've still had better. We ordered the smoked chicken and okra appetizer , both were great ! For dinner the bhindi masala was good, the chicken molee was not My favorite but okay. My second time ever trying Indian food and it was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was very nice and the service was very good and friendly (very patient and detailed to explain the entire menu!) . Overall, this was a great visit and I definitely cant wait until I return again. Drinks: I told my girlfriend I wish more places would have more handcrafted non- alcoholic beverages (outside of the normal mocktails) and I was shocked and amazed to see that Tabla had many options! Between the both of us we tried three different beverages. Kala Khatta (which was very good and very unique; very refreshing) it does have cumin flavor it in but I thought it was very subtle. Strawberry Shikanji- a very good, on the sweeter side but very refreshing option with a good citrus/ginger taste Mango Mule- the first few sips were absolutely amazing but I found the cumin flavor added to be overpowering over time and I cant say I would want to drink much of this in the near future. Food: The veggie samosa was fantastic paired with two sauces (green sauce- very good spicy sauce and a darker sauce which had a nice sweet/spicy flavor) Lasooni Cauliflower was a big star for us. The best way to describe this is vegetarian buffalo chicken nuggets. I honestly felt these were way better than any chicken nugget! The sauce was bomb and the yogurt pairing was a match made in heaven! Kurkuri Bhindi was just ok to me and I felt it was a bit to salty. The best way I can describe this is fried okra chips which were tasty but just way to salty. The Saag with Paneer was the main star for sure! The thick curry, spinach/mustard flavor paired with paneer was the best combo! We paired this with garlic naan and that just took it to the next level! Summary: I will definitely return and I highly highly recommend the Saag with Paneer and the Lasooni Cauliflower for food options for sure! The hostess last night was rude, unaccommodating and very disrespectful. She scolded me for trying to get to the bathroom from behind the hostess stand instead of going all around the restaurant, apparently walking 4 feet behind her is utterly unacceptable and she made sure to put out all the frustrations of her menial job on me. It's not as if I keep doing something after she politely asked me not to, it was my first trip to the bathroom and she talked to me like I've been doing it for weeks or on purpose. She was like, sir, sir, sir, not allowed, get out of here etc, I'm like, whoa, the bathroom is 10 feet away and I'm not even if your personal space, relax, totally ruined my evening. Although the service wasn't the best in terms of speediness. The food deserved all 5 stars. The food was impeccable and the butter chicken was the best butter chicken I have had in a long long time! The roomali Roti was warm and buttery and great with the butter chicken sauce and the Dogan josh sauce. The goat in the rogan josh was nice and tender and I really enjoyed that as well although the butter chicken was everything for me. The portions were just right and we finished every bite. No need to order basmati rice. It automatically comes with it. The restaurant is way bigger than it seems from the outside and has a small outdoor patio eating area and bar. I could barely taste the hint of chai. Pretty much tasted like a standard old fashioned to me. [FOOD] - Veggie Samosa: Delicious appetizer. Perfect inside and out. They are filled with potatoes, peas, and fennel and perfectly fried. Surprisingly filling appetizer choice. - Chicken Tikka Masala: Very rich and flavorful. Standard chicken tikka masala. It's a little bit stingy on the chicken for the price. - Garlic Naan: Delicious! Whatever entree you get, I recommend pairing it with the garlic naan (or any other naan to be honest) [SERVICE] Mediocre. Food was ok but service was awful. First - the roach running along the ledge in the kitchen (we were sitting near the window to the kitchen). We tried to watch it to make sure it didn't run into the food prep area. Should have walked out then but our order was almost ready so we stayed. Two problems with the dishes - we asked for vegan and were very clear about no cream, dairy or cheese and they brought veggie side covered in cheese. They wouldn't re-do it without the cheese and at our insistence the manager finally came out with an attitude and took it back. Another dish that they promised wasn't a spicy one - only garlic in it - was so spicy hot that the person couldn't eat it. The waiter just shrugged. Lastly, they offered to split the bill but instead ran both parts on the same credit card twice. They blamed it on "the new girl who was still learning." All in all, a frustrating and disappointing and not very clean dinner with overpriced barely average food. Never again! read more

There are a few things I really liked here and a few that I felt were completely unacceptable. LAMB SAAG. In my opinion, this is a must on the menu for anyone planning to come here. LAMB SEEK KEBOB, SERVED WITH AN ORCHID. It not only tasted great, but had an orchid on the plate. Neat touch. THE STENCH THAT RUINED THE NIGHT. Yes, when I say stench, I mean it. The employee coming to refill water and take the plate off the table had a horrible body odor. So disgusting and out of place. Management needs to get on top of this. VERY OVERPRICED WINES. This is the other reason that Tabla did not make me happy. Wines aren't just a standard double the cost of a store, but 3 to 4 times! They are clearly relying on people who know nothing about wine to buy these bottles. One of the worst choices on the menu is the wine from India, that retails for under $10 and they sell if for almost $40. I also felt that the selection was lackluster.
