The food here is familiar, comforting, and if the food being vegan wasn't brought to your attention you may not even notice. Amazing food and smiles all around! Really the food is delicious - so far we've had the burgers, fries, spicy chicken sandwich and onion rings. We give it all 5 's! The onion rings were some of the best we've ever had and that's including non vegan ones. The burger was absolutely delicious! They have many options for dipping sauces too. We've heard the breakfast sandwich and tacos should be our next choices. I think I'll try the chili next time. And last but not least our daughter loved the Ice cream with sprinkles! Had the opportunity to not only try the delicious food from Tabay's Mindful Kitchen yesterday, but also got to meet the great minds behind this enticing enterprise, Tabay and his mom Sahel. They are so kind, so sweet, and made some of the tastiest vegan food I've had in a while. Their fries were crispy, their "fish" patty crunchy on the outside and savory/soft on the inside, and the sauce they put on it for me was *chefs kiss*. Stopped by Tabay's for the first time today and was blown away! They welcomed us to the neighborhood with a free cherry drink that was amazing! So my family and I went to Dana Point for the 4th of July weekend and stopped to fill up gas on our way out when we noticed this exquisite looking food truck. We were actually just talking about eating breakfast and thought heck let's give this a try. So, I walked up to the window to be greeted by Sahel. She asked with a huge smile how we were doing and if we were hungry. I said heck ya a, something smells delicious. We had a quick conversation about life, my mom has just been diagnosed with terminal cancer and she was a survivor of. Not going to get to into this as I'd talk forever. She was so full of energy and had the best vibe ever! We were informed that the food was vegan but we should give it a shot. WE NEVER eat vegan! But omg! I ordered two breakfast sandwiches and all I can say is WOW! tastier than 95% of the breakfast sandwiches I've had before if not the best ever! I told her and Tabay I want, to take this truck of yours to Hawaii, it is my dream to live Hawaii and to also have a food truck! Cooking is my passion. So very very tasty food, and extremely good vibes from them! I don't think they even had the grand opening yet but still amazed us with the healthy sandwiches full of flavor. I saw the truck today and stopped to check it out for a late lunch. I ordered the Mexican pizza and the Buffalo chicken wrap. I was beyond surprised at how fresh and incredibly tasty the food was. All the veg was super fresh and the meat and beans where so primo I'm not sure I'll enjoy another southwestern restaurant in the area again. The sauce was perfect. I usually add hot sauce to my food and I powered through the pizza before I thought about more sauce. The wrap was for my wife and she was super stoked on it. Lets be honest... The only sign that states its vegan food is on the BACK of the truck... I ordered a so called burger... Something stack... Mind you I am not vegan... I was really hungry and I saw the picture on the side and I was like mmmmm BEEF... My girlfriend ordered Fish Tacos... We pulled away to go to the beach... I opened mine up because I was so hungry... I bit into it and it tasted like peanut butter and nail polish... So we pulled off the road and called the number... A women by the name of Venessa answered... We asked her, Hi what kind of meat is this? She replied we have 3 types of meat... I was so curious... What is this taste? ... She started to name the so called meat... Then she asked us if she can take our name and number so she can call us if and when they get REAL MEAT... That was pretty rude... So to make a long story short, We called a few weeks later and spoke to a very nice girl on the phone... She shared with us that the money we spent on rabbit food would go to a good cause to help people with cancer... We felt better after that and let it go... We have decided to avoid that truck from now on to eat rabbit food and maybe we will drop by to donate to the cause... We ended up going to Jimmy's Tavern and getting 2 - 20.00 Burgers... AND IT WAS WORTH IT... Needless to say 36 dollars for some rabbit food then 40.00 for some real food all and all lesson learned and it was still a great day.. read more
