My kids have made many friends and have been to numerous competitions, recitals, and workshops throughout their years. Will be going here for the foreseeable future.

I enrolled my daughter at DCU Dance Center in December based on a neighbor's recommendation,…read moredespite hearing some negative feedback from friends. We paid for the recital costume at the time of registration and purchased the mandatory 4 tickets package upfront.During the performance, parents were strictly prohibited from taking photos or videos. This strict rule created a strong expectation that we would receive satisfactory professional keepsakes from the studio, so we placed our full trust in them. To our shock, after the recital, my daughter received ZERO photos from her Jazz performance and only ONE poorly lit, dark image from her Ballet piece--completely missing the stage backdrop and her co-dancers. To make matters worse, the gallery shows multiple bright, beautifully lit group shots of her co-dancers, yet my daughter's sole image was isolated, dark, and poorly captured. She was clearly overlooked and discriminated against. When we raised this concern, management gave a defensive, dismissive response: claiming the photos were a "complimentary gift" (ignoring that we paid heavily for costumes/tickets), stating they "can't guarantee quality," and patronizingly saying their studio "might not be the right fit." This is unprofessional and greedy. Even if the studio intended to provide or sell professional photos, banning all personal devices forces parents to depend entirely on their photographer--stripping away our choice to capture our own memories. Buying professional photos should be optional, not forced through prohibition. This policy and the expected quality should have been made clear to us beforehand. We felt completely cheated. We have taken our children to multiple extracurriculars (like The Little Gym) for years and have never faced such neglect, We have always been incredibly fortunate to encounter teachers and organizations that genuinely care for children and uphold strong values.. But the real pain was watching my daughter's reaction. She was very upset and emotional knowing we had no pictures or videos to show her loved ones. Yet, the little girl with a very big heart hugged me and said: "Okay mom, don't be upset. They did bad, but we are not bad people. I will perform again in front of them (pleople whome she wanted to show her performance) when we meet them next time."My daughter showed more grace than this unprofessional studio ever will. If you enforce a no-photo policy, you have a duty to capture every child fairly--not just the lucky ones. Beware. My daughter will bloom elsewhere, and this shameful memory will fade.
