Jobi is amazing! I have been going to him since I moved to DC five years ago. I followed him from his last place to here. The salon is clean and quant, and the people are wonderful. Back to Jobi... He has a real skill with layers and color. He listens and will do what you want but will also offer great suggestions when he thinks you need them. He is honest and doesn't push you to get anything you don't want or need. I have never had a disappointing experience with Jobi. He has given me the best cut I've ever had. My mom travels up from Florida every year just to have Jobi give we an amazing cut. My job requires me to move often. One frustrating part is trying to find a new hairdresser. Solution: I always try to find someone who has a great haircut and ask them for their hairdresser. That's how I found Tung - and that was over 7 years ago! T Salon is cozy, relaxing, and Tung, Tracy and his staff are friendly and soothing. His advice and skill are incomparable. Color - amazing! Tung has said...go with the style that celebrates the natural beauty and texture in your hair and makes you feel happy. I now live in LA. Although I am only a few miles from hairdressers to the stars, I continue to fly back to DC (2300 miles) to get my color and cut done by Tung! I also recommend Tung to everyone I know and see...friends on travel to DC, those moving to the area - even the airline hostess on my most recent trip! I've been going to Tung for almost a year - maybe three or four times. However, I will not go back again. During my one hour appointment, Tang complained non-stop that I went to another hairdresser instead of him. He then threatened that he will not work with my "disastrous hair" if I ever go see another hairdresser instead of him. As a costumer, I would appreciate some respect as well as the freedom to choose who I work with. Tung seems to be very egocentric and his service is sub par. read more

Tung's been cutting my hair for more than 10 years. I drive from Maryland to Tenlytown to get my haircut because he does it in a way that allows for my style to grow out gradually. I do have long hair with long layers so I guess it's not that complicated. I even started sending hubby there. He, too, likes how his hair grows out when Tung cuts it, allowing him to go longer in between cuts. Tracy does my nails sometimes, I like how she takes a natural approach not cutting too much cuticle. I also like that it's only 1 manicure table and 2 pedicure chairs. I had very very long hair. It badly needed a cut but I admit that I hate getting my hair cut- it makes me anxious. Eventually I knew it was time and I made an appointment for a cut and style. I was lucky to get Jobi. He is awesome!!! He really listened to what I needed (about 5 inches off and some good layers) and was very professional. His skills with his shears are amazing, I think this might be the best hair cut I've ever had! He really took his time and made each cut precise and made sure I was happy with it. I cannot say enough good things about Jobi. I saw him consistently for 2 years for cuts, blonde highlights, and ombre services, until I moved away from DC. Jobi knows his stuff and genuinely enjoys working with you. He has great ideas and suggestions, but can also go with the flow when you already know what you want. He always has plenty of pictures ready to go on his iPad if you are curious how a certain style could work with your hair. He is a very unique stylist because he works efficiently, but takes his time with you and actually gets to know you. I always knew I was in good hands with Jobi and trusted him fully. I have recommended him to friends and they all have similar reviews. I followed Jobi here from another salon and, while T Salon is a bit small, the environment is very welcoming. You are always greeted by everyone working there, and can tell that the employees have a good rapport with one another.I have been there on busy Saturdays, but have never had to wait very long for a shampoo or anything. Simply put, Tung Tran is The Hair Whisperer! He has a way of transforming hair with scissors and consistently bringing forth its absolute best. Tung first cut my hair about three years ago when he was at a local chain salon and I vowed nobody else would touch my hair as long as I live in the metropolitan DC region. (I can't comment on color because I do not color my hair.) I have found the atmosphere and all the staff at T Salon to be professional, warm and friendly. Great cut. I recommend Lisa if you have thick, wavy or curly hair! I have really wavy, thick hair, and the overwhelming majority of haircuts I've gotten in my life have been unsatisfactory--most hairdressers learn to cut straight hair, but giving me a cut meant for straight hair means it sticks out weird, doesn't flatter the natural curl, etc. I HATE the question "do you want layers?"--if you have really wavy or curly hair you'll understand what I mean. Lisa was great. I told her I'd trust her instinct if she'd give me a cut that flattered my hair type, and she went to work. I was in the chair for a long time, but then again she was working from scratch because my last hair cut was whack. The final result was beautiful not just that day, not just after I washed it, but for a full two months after the cut! Well worth the $60 or so I paid--you definitely get what you pay for, especially if you have full-bodied hair! read more
