I told what has been happening with Jeff Stidham to his boss and owner, Ted Rutland of T. Rutlands. He was to get back with me when he discussed what was going on with Jeff, but never did. The first lesson to learn is try to find out what the other party's intentions are and don't spend too much on a lawyer when you are drafting a contract. There is a thing called pro bono where you can get a student lawyer to work free to create a contract for you from my understanding.
The second lesson I've learned is that get their verbal agreement in writing so if they renege, you have proof of what they said and use that as evidence in a case against the other person.
It's a hard lesson and you have to move on. You just have to chalk it up as a loss and that's it. I hope that others will learn from my mistakes and try not to do business with T. Rutlands. read more
