Think more "custom, old school, Japanese car experts". This place is a true diamond in the rough, large sea of auto repair shops. I own a heavily modified road racing Datsun 260Z. I learned quickly from several sources that word on the street was to call Garage Zero for my Z car needs. Calling these guys was the best thing I ever did. I can't tell you how happy I've been with the family like approach and care that I've received from these kind folks. This isn't your typical "I need an oil change" type of place. But not to say that they won't give you one if that's all you need. You can expect to be treated like a human being when you call - that's pretty cool in itself. You can also expect real, old fashioned HONESTY. Do you remember what that is? I had a long list of repairs and mods that my Z needed. Everything from tuning carbs to finding a nightmare electrical problem caused by all of the previous custom work I had done prior to seeing Garage Zero. There wasn't anything that John "the owner" couldn't tackle with a smile on his face. Most people would give you lip service about this or that, but not John. He just dives in and tells you like it is in a straight, honest, and friendly manner. No condescending talk, or long lectures from John. He's calm, cool and friendly. If you have an older Japanese car, or even something a bit more modern - This is the place to call for your custom mods, repairs, etc. I wish all gear heads were this fun to work with. After talking to various different auto shops, Central Auto was the only one who offered a solid solution and reasonable estimates for this odd issue with my car. This was about 6 months ago. Since the repair and battery change, my car has been running without any issues. This past week, I swung by to get my brake lights replaced. Mechanic switched out two lights within 10 min and charged $25. I was also quoted $45~ for full synthetic oil change (4 cylinder) and $10 for tire rotations. Small sitting area. Tight parking space. Mechanic is Korean and seems to be a car whiz. His wife handles the office. So far, this place seems to be one of the few reliable family run auto shops nearby. Highly recommend. May experience language issues for those not familiar with Korean. Open until 6pm.

Back in 2022, I purchased a used Toyota RAV4 from his shop for 9,000. The vehicle was making weird engine noise after the first few months of purchase. I didn't think anything of it until I had to sell the car two weeks ago because of the knocking sound due to an internal engine failure. When I notified him of this prior to the in person diagnosis, he continually instructed myself to get an oil change, when I knew it had nothing to do with the oil. He made me believe that I was ill informed and uneducated about my car dilemma. I am disgusted by this purchase, I did not have the car for at least two years before it presented this major issue. He haggled me and told me after, It would range around 2000- 3500 for labor costs, and then proceeded to say if I decided to go through with the job that he will be on vacation. The worst part is I was referred to this guy by my uncle, who is known to be crass about money. My autistic son and I are severely limited with transportation options due to this shady purchase from this company. Be careful entrusting this company with all your mechanic needs. I was referred to him by a now EX-friend of mine who swore he did good work but for some reason, my car sat at his shop from Mid-November up until April 28th. It was never repaired, in fact, I got it back in worse damage than before. I had a minor damage front end collision where my radiator obviously needed to be replaced. My car was towed to his shop (with a brand new radiator in tow) and all of a sudden I needed a lot of extra parts, A/C needed to be fixed, I needed a lot of hoses and tubes with a $4500 price tag minus the body work. $2500 to just get the car up and running minus the A/C. I've paid better prices for actual engine work (cam shaft and timing chains) in Buckhead. Oh, the "breakdown" fee was intially $700 which is ridiculous to not get the car fixed. A typical diagnostic even at the dealership is $200-300. He said it would be $1500 to even start the repair. Decisions decisions. I went to look at my car, and there were A LOT of parts directly under my hood missing (I'm no mechanic but why would parts be missing directly under my hood when there was no hood damage from the accident) The bracket that supported the radiator, which is in the bumper, wasn't even damaged. Every time I asked for a diagnostic or a parts needed list, he pushed it off. I called constantly and every time he told me "Oh, we're waiting for parts". I decided to pop up at the shop after 1.5 months of paying the $1500 and much patience to start the repair process (still no diagnostic/estimate or parts list) and the shop was abandoned and my car was nowhere in sight. Hmm, he moved my car to another location without notifying me first which put me in a panic because... where is my car? Once he gave me the location of my car he says he had 18 days to vacate the property. Okay so within those 18 days that I spoke to him, he didn't tell me ANYTHING about having to move my car. I asked him for all of my parts back both damaged and undamaged, he said he needed to speak to his attorney. Because... what did he do with my parts? Sell them? Use them on a similar car?? Everyone else on this post says they had timely service with good pricing.. where? I specifically saw a review like that from a customer with a similar car to mine in late April. I've been taken on a ride by this unscrupulous mechanic for whatever reason. I didn't know him or have any previous dealings with him. In fact, I've been very professional and patient this whole time. I'm a widowed mother and woman of a 3 year old so I definitely need my car and I don't have extra energy for bad business.
