An interesting experience to say the least. We should call it a Belgian Omakase.
There aren't many places open on a Tuesday and especially after 2pm for those that are open. So at 3pm we found this place to try out.
The restaurant itself, inside, is trendy and nice, and there's a covered outdoor patio in front which satisfied our craving to also watch the passing crowd. It's located on the old fish market square next to the Gravenstein Castle.
The menu is simple, primarily Italian, which we hadn't expected checking it out online, but that was OK.
We decided to try the spaghetti carbonara and the rigitoni arrabiati.
Plus, a glass of red wine each.
After a reasonable period of time out came our meal- two identical pizzas!
Before placing it down the waiter looked as perplexed as we did and took it away.
Now mind you there were no more than a half dozen patrons at the time.
In reckoning we decided pizza isn't such a bad replacement so ran inside to have them bring the pizzas back.
They did, appreciably, and commented jokingly that the chef determines what we are to eat! Omakase!
The pizza, a rucola, was excellent. The crust was perfectly made, the sauce and cheese just enough and fresh arugula on top.
The wine was equally good.
So ended up OK in the end, all around.
They even brought us a complimentary digestive afterwards.
It's a good place! read more
