I missed the window of return due to illness (yep, sick for two weeks plus) so I felt stuck with this new phone that I never really wanted, and frustrated with it's functionality even though it's supposed to be "better". I hated it. It's the newest iPhone XR - stress makes you do stupid things and spend money - and my old phone was an 8plus, which I loved. Not to mention it has all of my fave apps and my life on it by now. After talking with George at the AT&T store, he convinced me to keep the XR, I'm already paying for it so why not? And he showed me a better way of using it so it's more like my old phone, but better. He showed me shortcuts, ways to resize my keyboard and even how to add the touch button that I missed so much from my 8plus. What a bonus! He was even sweet enough to share his screensaver photo with me (by air drop) so I now have Rick & Morty to brighten my day every time I pick up my phone. George was a light at the end of this dark tunnel, technology can be so irritating, but he was really kind and professional and I will always go back to this location for all of my cell phone needs.

We shopped for some phone accessories but didn't find anything we wanted. So we made our way to the pickup line. We were greeted immediately and I mentioned that I was picking up an order. The cashier scanned my phone and quickly pulled my order. I checked it and it was exactly what I ordered. The cashier said thanks for the order and we were on our way out. Overall, the service was the winner here. Staff was friendly and the item I purchased was $100 off where every other store I checked online had it for regular price. I highly recommend buying from this location as the staff is quick to gather your online order and they are very nice at this store.

I wanted to buy a new computer at a store, instead of online, so I could ensure a salesperson earns…read morea commission. The experience was not great, though there were some bright spots. I was initially directed to the Apple area. Two employees were working there with other customers - no problem. They disappeared after a bit, seemingly with those customers. About ten minutes of waiting later, hoping someone would be ready, I found both employees at the Microsoft area. No one had been available in the Apple area for that long - it seems understaffed. Someone in sales worked with me and was largely informative. The process wasn't inefficient; buying a new piece of technology takes time. Even so, it got a bit frustrating when two errors came up. First, upon transferring me over to the Geek Squad section, so I could have them transfer the data and assess the resale value, the first error came through: The transfer was said to be $40, but the woman at GS told him me was mistaken, and that it's $40 to transfer data between phones but $90 for computers to do so. I will give them credit for the high resale value of my old computer - Apple's online estimator gave me a paltry $35, whereas Best Buy assessed it to about $150. Still, the process of figuring out whether or not I could apply that directly to the bill, had to do a store credit, etc., was something the employees had to ask multiple other people about. It is OK to do that, of course, but it felt inefficient to this degree. As the GS employee looked through my computer, she mentioned that they'd have the new computer ready (with the data transfer) within 24-48 hours. I was very surprised! I politely mentioned that no one had told me that it would be an "overnight" thing - taking some time was anticipated, but overnight or even 2 days?! She was surprised I hadn't been told yet. Sales very much should've mentioned this, and there should be more coordination between teams. I wound up leaving it overnight, especially since my old computer already got the resale value assessed and needed to be there. It was ready pretty early the next day, which is good, but this was overall frustrating. Not as important, but they love to have 2-3 loud songs all playing at the same time. It is one thing to have different songs in different areas of a large store, but this was all quite close together, in terms of where the sound was coming from, and it was jarring and annoying. EDIT: I forgot to add...they have roving salespeople from AT&T who make eye contact with you while you're waiting around and then take advantage of your kindness. I find this process frustrating, similar to people with clipboards trying to get you to sign something. It is intrusive and tacky. I don't know why they allow this.

The lifetime warranty that is complained about elsewhere is actually a good deal and I've found all locations honor it. It depends on your key fob. Let me start by stating that I ordered the wrong phone online. I ordered the 18ProMax not the 18Pro. My mistake. I called ATT on 9/25 to try and cancel the order. I wanted 33 minutes to speak with someone. Even though there was no shipping info I was told they were not able to cancel it. I was told that after I receive the phone to take it to a store and return it. I was told not to open the phone box and there would be no restocking fee. The phone arrived today. The ATT website it states "Make your return or exchange with the help of one of our friendly experts at any AT&T retail store." Then asks you to enter a zip code to Find a Store. When I did that the store in Lincolnshire pops up first. So I went there. They told me they couldn't help me because they were independent and I had to go to a Corporate Store. They recommended Vernon Hills. Jesse is the associate who "helped" me. While her words were not rude, her tone was extremely rude. She told me that I needed to call the 800 number, get a label, and take the phone to a UPS store. She said that the only way the store could take a return was to open the phone, activate it, the port it back to the old phone which would take 48 hours, and I would need to pay the restocking fee. I admit that I was surprised and upset as I spent time on the phone and was doing exactly what I was told to do. Her attitude towards me, the customer, was extremely discourteous for an associate. There was not a modicum of empathy given to me having driven to the store as I was told. Her attitude toward me was quite insulting (even if her specific words were not). I left the store and called the 800 number. I wanted 44 minutes and was connected to a lovely person. She could not understand why the store would not take the phone back. While on the phone I actually returned to the store. She tried talking to them, but they would not accept the return. She suggested that she would email me the shipping label and Alex, the store associate, agreed he would print it. It was very nice for someone to be thinking outside the box to assist a customer. 1 hour 31 minutes later I received the email with the label. I emailed it to Alex. Then I made the mistake of showing Zee, the Manager, the location on the website where it says you can do returns in the store. He told me he knew the policy as he has been there 6 years, but that they would need to open and activate the new phone. Then he told Alex to NOT print my shipping label. I have been an ATT Mobile customer since Cellular One was bought by Cingular and then ATT. I have never been treated so rudely by staff and by a manager. The store was EMPTY which I guess should not surprise me. I am happy to say that the associate at the UPS store extremely helpful and the phone has been returned. My suggestion...GO TO THE APPLE STORE!
