5 stars for staff friendliness, but 1 star for how corporate has neutered their ability to get anything done. I've stopped in a few times for help (because trying to reach customer service by phone takes ages), and they're always kind and willing to do whatever they can to help me. That being said, each time it seems there is less they can access and do. On my most recent visit, I wanted to understand why my bill had kept going up over a six-month period and then see what alternative plans would cost. It was about a 20-minute wait, as they were busy -- everyone in the store was working really hard. I got called up and explained my situation, upon which I learned in-store employees are only able to see the past three bills on their tablet, but the gentleman helping me was kind enough to look through the bills I had brought with me and tried to help me understand what happened. Neither of us could figure it out -- and it actually took awhile on the phone with a representative to later sort out what happened. I then asked if he could help me get pricing for their current plans so I could decide whether I wanted to change, especially since T-Mobile's new plans no longer include taxes or fees in their monthly pricing. Unfortunately, he said that a comparison like that wasn't information he could easily calculate in-store. He noted that's also something that has to be handled by the customer online, via app, or by phone. I would be a happy T-Mobile customer if I could just handle account issues face-to-face with a human rather than having to navigate chat bots and AI voice agents to get to a human (although the humans I do eventually end up speaking to are always lovely). If you want to get a new phone, head on in. If you're having any issues, you should probably bite the bullet and make a call instead. read more

After more than 15 years with another cellular provider, my son got me to switch to T-Mobile. Sonja helped us set up the account, they offer a Military discount, so we put our family plan in my sons name, but I am secondary on the account to make changes if needed (or pay the bill while he's deployed, lol). He also wanted to switch to Apple (he's happy but struggling- there is a learning curve to using Apple products), his main reason for going Apple was the airdrop feature and using it while deployed for music and movies. T-Mobile also offers included Canada and Mexico service, a bonus- since we were just in Canada in June and I had to pay extra on our previous plan/provider AND they offer included international messaging and data, unlimited data. That's huge for staying in touch for our family. I got a new phone too, and I needed one- mine has been giving me problems for months. I really appreciated Sonja and we had to call numerous times for various problems- one of our numbers was locked by the previous provider and that was a huge mess and my son's Military wasn't getting validated online, between the two problems they were able to help us resolve both. I will say I returned today because John's phone disconnected from the network and the guy that helped us today wasn't actually helpful. Currently visiting Jacksonville, and I came-in yesterday evening (10/26/2020) with my sister so she could add me to her account. We were waited on by Gerald, and I really enjoyed the experience so much. Gerald was very engaging, had the patience of a saint, and was really a delight to work with. He took the time to answer all of our questions, tell us about upcoming promotions and deals, and went out of his way to explain everything to us in detail. Excellent customer service from Christopher! We stepped in to get a phone case and he hooked us up. He helped my mom and I to find the best phone cases (I got the otter box and she got a more ornate cover). He also was very knowledgeable about the products as well as their assembly. Not only did his smile and positive demeanor genuinely stay on his face, but he was well dressed and put the phone case together in addition to cleaning the phone and putting the glass protector on it. Of all the town center phone dispensaries I would definitely pick this one again. Thanks for the excellent customer service! This location was clean and the music wasn't too loud either. I upgraded my iPhone here using the Jump! program. After having to leave and come back an hour later so that they could get the right phone for me from the back, we sat around for an hour or more as the person helping me was supposedly transferring my pictures, etc., to my new phone. Then, she said it was all transferring on the Cloud, so we should just go home, and it'll finish transferring when it had wifi again. Well, guess what? I lost over 1,000 pictures, all of my notes, and God only knows what else. I'm still discovering things that aren't there. I'm not sure what she did transfer. Very nice welcome. You can tell they actually cared. Sean helped us for over an hour on a phone warranty issue. He kept making calls to tried to helps us. We still have to fix the phone back in PR but this T-Mobile has way better service and employees than any other store we have been to in the Jacksonville area. read more
