This was a fiber-to-the-home connection, complete with a fiber optic cable I could actually look at in the closet. When I activated the service, which was really quick and easy, I got about 50 Megabits per second over the modem's built in wi-fi router. When I wired my laptop directly to the switch, however, I easily got the rated 500 Mbps I was paying for in an online speedtest. Don't use the built-in wifi router. I purchased high quality Unifi equipment, and I easily get 4x faster speeds than I did when I only had the built-in wifi access point.

This has got to be the most incompetent telecommunications company around. Their lack of security…read moreis truly shocking. They allowed my phone number to be ported to a hacker. They retrieved it, I set up a pass code. After this, not once, but twice, the hacker reaquired the number by simply calling CenturyLink. If you are using this company, I highly suggest that you reconsider and find a secure provider.

Cbeyond is the worst phone company for small business EVER! They are great at making the sale but…read moreafter that its a total con job. I tried to get out of my contract because I needed a more robust system - they refused saying, "If we let all of our unhappy customers out of their contracts, we wouldn't have any business." Seriously! So then they talk me into a new system that's supposed to solve my issues - and it's supposed to cost me $100 less per month - but of course that isn't true either. It actually costs $100 more per month - AND I had to buy new phones and pay installation fees AND they even charged me an early termination fee for the old system!!! But they got a new 3 year contract out of me by doing that (which I asked them to waive - they said sure - but my agreement still says 3 years). I'm telling you - DO NOT do business with CBeyond. I won't even rate them 1 star. I feel that they have been completely dishonest in their dealing with me and unfortunately I'm stuck with them for three more long years. A bunch of con artists...

My daughter got a great deal as she pays for her phone and got a bill credit for her trade in and in the process ordered Pro Max 17 for herself. They are two weeks out for ordering and non in store. The joy of the day was Ray the salesperson who was very funny, informative and got her the best deal. He interacted with grandkids and really was focused on the whole process. Thank you for making our wait friendly and fun! TMobile was very busy but they made sure to greet us and get us a place in line for service. They have more seating in there now to make a wait comfortable. Great experience! Thank you Ray!

I only saw filtered reviews of this company so I thought I would add my 2 cents worth…read more I have used the customer service several times and it is excellent. There are actually people on the other side that you can deal with right there and now. I was a usfamily.net customer for my email and internet for YEARS and then they joined up with Velocity. Still great service (I don't have a landline ...just the internet at home). I would have given them 5 stars because I am not sure if it is my computer, modem or them but my internet is not all that fast....I wish it was but I don't need it all that much at home when I have it here at work. I highly recommend them for service. They have always been sincere and helpful. Even with my Mom...if she ever had issues they were very patient with her. :) and solved her problems.

While friends of mine have "free" email (gmail, etc) they're plagued with spam. USFAMILY beautifully filters enormous amounts of it. I can still view it if I choose, and when I do view it, I'm always blown away how much crap they've save me from. The very few times I've needed assistance, a live person is ready and willing and solves my issues quickly. Definitely worth the few dollars it costs me per year!
