My friend and I came here looking to destress from weeks of studying. What better than retail therapy? We came looking for a sweat suit and found so much more. My friend got a collection of shirts, jeans, and sweats while I found a cut top and two piece set. The aisles are very well picked through and could have benefited from a restocking. Nonetheless, we found some good stuff in their clearance section. The workers weren't the happiest to be there but they were still helpful during the checkout process. Location Location Location. This TJ Maxx Runway is in a great location near the Nordstrom Rack and Off Saks. The selections in their runway section is undefeated in Atlanta. It is a must visit whenever we are in the area. I kept one star away because of the of disrespectful staff that seems to trickle into your shopping experience and ruin the vibe. This TJ Maxx is nice. It offers the typical items. They have a nice selection of designer pieces--handbags, jewelry, and shoes, which isn't carried at all locations. They had a decent shoe section. I came here the week of Christmas so it was beyond packed. I didn't notice any associates on the floor to offer assistance. My Mom LOVES "TJ's" (as she calls it) and I love my Mom. Especially when her proclivity for scanning stores for things I need/want, clothing and shoe-wise, scores me finds like she got today!! She found four beautiful dresses, a jacket and a lovely pair of shoes for me. It was tough to narrow it down to two dresses (of course, I was going to keep the shoes!). Three Kate Spade frocks and one See by Chloe. See my pic for one of the ones I kept - SO perfect for the afternoon wedding I'm going to with the Boyfriend in a few weeks (it's his best friend's dad's third, and my *debut* with family friends). Kate Spade, originally $445, bought for $179. The other one I kept is the most fantastic navy See by Chloe shirt-style dress with a darling ruffled collar and cap-like sleeves, and a beautiful flowy hemline. Perfect for a nice dinner, meeting the parents, church . . . Originally $375, bought for $149. The shoes are perfect for the wedding dress - matte gold with sparkly heels, and a steal for $29.99 (they're Guess). It was hard to send back the brown zebra-striped Kate dress, but maybe it will still be there in a week or two . . . read more

Clueless cashiers and "manager" stole my time and my dignity. Yesterday in the late afternoon, I waited in line at this location to buy a few clearance snacks. Twice I was summoned by flashing lights and audio-promptings. Both times, I get to the indicated station and the attendant has decided to work with someone else in a series of mistakes and changed minds. Both times someone else behind me in line got a cashier who was actually ready. No one was helping me navigate this mess and the cashiers were pretending that they weren't being absolute human garbage to me, but they obviously were. And then when I complained I was told by the useless, victim-blaming store manager, that I could have left. I would have, but unfortunately, I had taken a sip from a point-of-sale soda, forcing me to somehow endure the TJ Maxx's cashiers' unbearable contumely in their unending gauntlet of shame. This is the only TJ Maxx I've been to in the ATL area, so I can't compare it to any of their other stores. As a store, it's very clean and well-organized, and the dressing rooms are tidy and well-lit. All the clothing items on the racks were placed in their correct size sections which makes things SO much easier to sort through! However, I was looking for a store associate and could not find a single person on the floor to help me, so I wandered around until I found what I needed. I only looked through a few of the sections, since I was on a mission, but here are some things I noticed: - They have good deals on activewear, like Nike and Under Armor shorts ($12-$14). I didn't like their selection of sports bras and they weren't priced great in my opinion. - Their intimates section doesn't have big names, but it's still worth it to check out. They have a lot of seamless panties and lacy bras which are so "in" right now. - Their swimwear section was not good, but towards the back of the store, there're a rack with Tory Burch stuff that also has some swimwear. Definitely, definitely check out TJ Maxx before buying anything at Nordstrom Rack while you're shopping in this complex. They have very similar items, like the Nike shorts, and similar styles of items, like the intimates stuff, but TJ Maxx is way more affordable. read more

Two stars for the clothing but the customer service is nonexistent. I went in today and found a nice matching top and bottom, but had difficulty finding the correct size. When I finally found an associate, Dominic was extremely rude and unwilling to help, waved her hand in a direction to search. When I came across Dominic again, she was frustrated that I was searching her area, shook her head then threw up her hand because she was trying to clean. The manager was no better, made rude, threatening announcements. Her face told you not to talk to her. Very toxic environment. However, Alyria was my cashier and was very kind and helpful!! She would make a great manager. Look for her lol Tip: go early and do not ask any questions. They have nice pieces. read more

Not one of the best TJ Maxxs. Sometimes the merchansdise at this location seems to be outdate compared to other TJ Maxxes. But they also have a designer department with high end brands you wouldnt expect to find at a TJ Maxx The racks in the store are often overstuffed and its impossible to find anything in this store without some effort. Even the aisles are often junky and you have to move things around just to get a good idea of what they have. This is a Buckhead location, I think that this location deserves better. The staff use to be one of the best, but like most customer service persons now, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I dont think of TJ Maxx as a kinda of place where you can say oh...do u have blah blah blah, but if you even ask them for something very simple, they look at you like you've asked them to move the moon. I went in and told the lady that I needed several items, and she basically told me, you'll just have to look for them yourself but they should be over there. I bought an item and upon opening it up. It had obviously been used. Also the product in the box was not what was advertised on the outside of the box. When I returned the item the next day. The manager looked at it and said that she could see that it had been used. She then told me that she was sorry and that it is not TJMAXX policy to sell defective or used items. I then said that you obviously did. She then changed her tune and said that obviously someone had bought the item, switched it out and returned it for a refund. That tells me that when it was returned the clerk failed to inspect the item and TJMAXX put it back on the shelf to resell. I told the manager that all I wanted was a refund and some sort of compensation (i.e. gift card) for my wasted time and gas having to return the used item that they tried to pass off as new. I was refunded the purchase price but, the manager simply refused any small compensation and said all she was willing to do is refund me the purchase price and walked off. NOT THE WAY TO HAVE REPEAT BUSINESS WITH ME WHEN THIS WAS OBVIOUSLY TJMAXXS FAULT!!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THIS STORE AGAIN!!!! The picture's below show the condition the product was in after it was sold to me as a new product. Terrible customer service here. I came in a little after 9:30 am to shop. One of the associates saw me with several items in hand and offered a cart which was nice. I asked her if the fitting room was open and she said no, not until 11 am when the dressing room person comes in. That's super inconvenient since most shoppers prefer to try on an item before buying. It was whatever though and I continued browsing. I had an idea and wanted to ask the lady that helped me if I could leave my selected items, go to a shop next door to kill time, and return at 11 am. Unfortunately, she had her AirPods in having what sounded like a non work related convo. I didn't want to interrupt so I asked another associate if I could just leave my items to the side and return later . She instead told me to follow her and let me into a dressing room. At some point I hear arguing. Apparently, another customer got upset she wasn't allowed to try on items, so the associate let her into a dressing room as well. When I walk out the associate that let me in on her own accord proceeded to tell me I got her in trouble with her boss. I literally asked her to just leave my stuff to the side and return when the dressing room was open. That's really not my problem. Still I felt bad for her so I apologized. However, she was wrong to put that on me and her boss was wrong too. There were several associates on the floor and not one could work the fitting room or just simply accommodate my request. I would have preferred to been told no, than go through all that drama. Totally turned me off from shopping. As I was leaving someone yelled "have a nice day" in the most petty tone. I can only assume it was the boss. Do better. read more

From a man's perspective, T.J. Maxx at Buckhead Loop is the best T.J. Maxx in the metro area. (Second place: Henderson Mill Road in Tucker.) I can't prove it but I suspect that management steers the nicest clothes to this store because of the ZIP code, and proximity to the ringing cash registers at Lenox and Phipps malls. You can get a lot of marked down designer, name brand and other department store quality clothes here. Shopping here eliminates department store/designer markup. To my fellow straight guys: Do you really care if it's last year's? The trade-off is that discount shopping tends to be hit or miss, so it makes sense to hit a bunch of stores (T.J. Maxx, Filene's Basement, and the two Marshall's stores nearby) at once. This is the place to go for sportswear, accessories, and dress shirts and ties, and staples such as socks and briefs. I don't know if it's them or me, but I don't have much luck finding slacks here. I'm an easy size to fit; I just don't find much to my taste. Only rarely does T.J. Maxx carry sport jackets or suits. (Go to Marshall's for men's dress shirts, sport jackets, and suits.) T.J. Maxx does carry womens' shoes and professional wear. Occasionally you will find nice housewares and gifts, such as bedding, small photo frames or kitchenware. Perfume I bought to keep Miss D. smelling beautiful was about half-price. On a hot day, park in the basement garage to keep your car interior cool, and ride the elevator up. T.J. Maxx also just reconfigured its checkout line so it is like a bank line: the customer waiting in line longest gets the first available cashier. No more "law of lines" (i.e., as soon as you get impatient and change lines, the line you just left starts moving fast). Bravo! read more

Oh I know...you hear "TJ Maxx" and you think super huge T-shirts in pastel colors with the Guess Jeans triangle on them in mass quantities. But it's Guess Jeans OMG!! ...and it's 2008. BUT NO NOT THIS TJ MAXX! Joe's Jeans, True Religion, Penguin, Theory, Cole Haan, Chip & Pepper, BCBG, Michael Kors...it's like the fashion after party where everyone is still looking super cute and hasn't gotten all sloppy yet. I mean I've been searching for the perfect black shirt dress for months and months...I was inspired by Calvin Klein's perfect interpretation of this dress and have bought two versions only to be disappointed in the end...but what did I find at this TJ MAXX??!! You know what I found...THE Calvin Klein black shirt dress that fits me like Cal made it just FOR me!!! For only $60!!! My life is complete. I need the Hare Krishna no more... The only thing is that when this TJ Maxx is on, it's ON...but when it's off...a million saddies. So try it several times before you give up on it b/c that one time when you score is like a high that can't be bought on Boulevard or anywhere else. This TJM location has a designer section to the right of the store as you enter. You can find brands such as Prada, RED Valentino, Fendi, D&G, etc... selection seems to be from a few seasons ago (since it is no longer in style) and you have to really search through each piece to find an item that is "building piece foundation" worthy of the purchase. Otherwise, you'll be spending money on an item that is out of season, out of style, and will burn you out of money. Shoe section is really small in comparison to other TJM locations. There was hardly any sales rep on the floor and only a few cashiers. It was rather empty, but it also meant no fighting over the racks. Go during the weekday when its slow and you can take your time. read more

This is, by far, the worst TJ Maxx I have ever seen. I should have known when I saw a piece of paper taped to the door with their store hours that this place was not up to par. Inside was a disaster. It looked like I had just walked into the tail end of black friday sale that somehow took place in May. Clothes were disheveled and strewn around. The bathing suit section was the most ridiculous. Nothing was organized and about 30% of them had fallen onto the floor and been left there. The other 70% were merely one strap away from hitting the floor as well. The accessories looked like someone had taken boxes of stuff and dumped them onto the shelves. There was no rhyme or reason. Makeup had been broken and spilled as well as bottles of shampoo and other liquid-y stuff. Everything I picked up was sticky or dusted in blush. The shoe department... I don't even know what to say about it. I have no idea how good the selection was because I couldn't get through the aisles for all of the mess. I would guess at least 12 people came through, tried on dozens of shoes and all failed to pick up after themselves. The lingere department seemed to have a lot of super cute merchandise but, just like every other department, not one thing was where it was supposed to be. The A's were with the DD's and although I was intrigued by how much there was to choose from, it was just too much work. There was only 1 clearance section that I could find and that was in housewares/kitchen area. It consisted of 3 shelves full of broken stuff. What the hell? Stellar clearance sections are the main reason I shop at TJ Maxx. What a rip-off. To top things off, the a/c did not seem to be working very well. It was way too warm and when I did find a rack of clothes that I thought might be worth the trouble, I realized that I was starting to sweat. That was it for me. Time to go. I have shopped at all the TJ Maxx and Marshall's stores in Atlanta and I have never seen anything like it. I did not have my phone with me and I am SO bummed. I would love to have some pics to really illustrate just how nasty this store is now. It reminded me of a trip to Walmart. Pretty average TJ Maxx. This location focuses heavily on clothes and not so much on other items like housewares. Right now they have a huge swim selection because we're going into summer. Given that this is a high volume location I would have liked the lines to move faster. While this is a very conveniently located TJ Maxx, I prefer the Cumberland, Perimeter and Camp Creek locations over this one. Bad customer service when trying to return a dress. Waited in line with six customers ahead of me. Once at register, the cashier noticed that the receipt was the wrong receipt for the dress and called the manager Mr Keemo or Keeno. Since it was the wrong receipt, she had to give me a gift card. I needed my drivers license and had forgotten my wallet in the car so I asked her if I can come back to her once I get my wallet from my car! Her and the manager said NO, YOU HAVE TO GO BACK AND STAND IN LINE AGAIN!!!! REALLY!!!! With my luck there was even more people in line... I've been coming to this T.J. TJ Maxx and Prada? or D&G? Do the latter two words even go in the same sentence with the first? If you're in Buckhead, then yes! Came here after an afternoon church service, and was pleasantly shocked by the labels this store carried. I'm pretty picky about brands and what I choose to spend money on, so this place was refreshing seeing a combination of great brands for very affordable prices. Like any other TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshalls, etc, the place has the brands, but can be a hit or miss based on selection, sizes, etc. However, this one visit, I felt like I had found a hidden gem when I found a B.SON cardigan in my size. Mind you, B.SON is a San Francisco clothing brand that is usually only carried at smaller boutiques and its cuts are very forward, almost too much for the usual consumer. This find was great and the price was highly attractive. Upon purchasing the item, the employees discovered that they didn't have the right tools to remove the censor from the item. They had to actually pry off the censor and remove all the other cardigans off the floor. I was surprised that they would just place items out without checking their materials (one star down). I have a small hole on the sleeves, but the cashier was very professional and offered me a discount for the trouble. I hardly ever go to TJ Maxx anymore however I went out of desperation today and remembered why I never go. Quality and Selection is just mediocre. I mean there is never anything there exciting. If you "need" something I'm sure you can find it. But to get something trendy, the latest, something you're excited about I just don't see it. The jewelry is blah, the clothing is blah, all of it is just blah. I know there are finds to be had but you must dig for them and their is no guarantee. I was specifically looking for a swimsuit today. I left empty handed. Not many selections of one pc suits especially in the smaller sizes but that can be said of any store. overrall though the styes were very very boring. Either suited to juinors or women 40 plus, no inbetween. This location is not very organized...sizes not where they shoot be,hangers and clothing all tangled up, just a mess. This store does have higher end items than the TJ Maxx on Cobb Parkway in Smyrna (espacially their handbags) but overral still blah. I get discount stores I really do but in TJ Maxx you can just tell the the items they get are there because they are going out of style. Just not feeling it. Nuts and bolts: I was looking for a gift for my boyfriend who was redecorating his place. Pros: I was very happy with the home goods department. There was a great selection and great prices. Quality stuff. Neutral: Parking on the main level can be very difficult! Especially so on the weekend. But there is parking underneath. During church hours, there are cops that direct traffic. Take home message: I'd like to come back and do some clothes shopping to see if it is as good. read more
