I have been going to Greg's for about 15 years but will never go back and everyone that I once…read morereferred there have all had horrible experiences. They used to be great, the staff in the office was great, Cody and Greg were great, and the repairs were good. The past 2 years however, the place has gone downhill horribly. The office staff is now rude and openly lies to customers (see below) while the repairs have not been done to any kind of standard. They no longer stand by their work. Here are some highlights of the past 2 years: 1) Took my daughters car in and was told it would be done the next day when a part came in. 2 days passed and we called to inquire was told the part would be in the next day. 2 more days pass and we called to be told the part would be in that day and the car repaired, but it wasn't. The next day we were told the part they received was wrong and so they had to wait for a new part. The office staff lied to us repeatedly over a period of 5 days. 2) Took my sisters car in for new shocks. 13 months, and just 8K miles later, the shocks were totally bad. They said "too bad" the warranty is expired and wanted the same amount to replace the shocks. She is 70 years old and only drives to the store and doctor appointments. Shocks should last 50K miles at least. 3) Took my son's car in for a gas purge valve replacement. Paid over $1000 and within 2 months the valve no longer worked. My son was so angry at Greg's that he didn't tell me until many months later. I called Greg's and once again was told "too bad". It is unfortunate that they are such a lousy place now with no integrity when they were once a really good place. I no longer recommend Greg's auto to anyone for any service.

If he doesn't fix it the first time, he will keep working on it, with no labor charge, until the problem is fixed. I had a solenoid go out in my gear shift. Tony kept putting in a new one until we got one that actually worked. The part was under warranty, so I never had to pay for that, but he replaced it 3 or 4 times and only charged me for the labor the first time, even though I know he had to take out the whole console to put in the new one. You do have to be patient though. Tony is a one man shop, so it sometimes takes a while for him to get to you. He is good, though, to tell you when he can get to it, so you can wait and bring your car when he has time to work on it. Overall, we have always been happy with him.

While I did experience unexpected…read moredelays, I took into consideration the economic fallout from COVID, sanctions against China and Russia, and Ukraine War on top of the reality that based on my own research my particular make and model has one of the most complicated engines made. The report I received regarding setbacks and faulty manufacturer defects was consistent with what other mechanics have written about in several forums. The most important thing to me is integrity. Second, reliability. Third, follow through. Pricing matters too, but I have learned the hard way that you must be wary of extremely low estimates equally as much as extremely high estimates. Thoroughness and attention to detail is paramount, if you want long lasting. There was a learning curve in figuring out how to improve communication. I am patient as long as my expectations are set properly. If there is a need to change the ETA for any reason, I prefer prompt communication so that I can adjust my own personal and business needs accordingly. There was definitely a need for this to improve. However, by the end, Tony did right by me while he also stood by his and his crew's work. This gave me confidence in his work ethic. I was also able to consider how in my own experience as a business owner, sometimes even I have a bit more than a one man/one woman band can manage. Again integrity (honesty) is most important to me and in this category Tony is stellar. After a few proactive conversations, I got the impression that Tony appreciated my candor and made sincere effort to stay on top of responding promptly. That earned him extra credit with me. Later down the road, after I got the car back, it became necessary for me to have a leak looked at. Tony handled it expeditiously. Since then, my car seems to be running much more smoothly than it did when I first bought it used two years ago. On top of that, Tony is incredibly fair and beats the excessive pricing at a dealership, an added bonus. Meanwhile his pricing and was in the middle, which I find to be appropriate especially given the setbacks he encountered with manufacturer defects when having to dismantle, reassemble, then dismantle and reassemble a second time!! I would say his work, his willingness to take feedback and adjust accordingly, his honesty, and his standing by the people who represent his business earns him nothing less than a hard-earned A+++ from this single momma bear. I definitely recommend Twisted Wrench as I am now a forever loyal customer. I will not take my car anywhere but Tony.
