    Szechuan Triple
    Toya G.

Beware. Don't spend your $ here - it's not worth it. This was truly a bad meal and a waste of $$. I spent over $30+ for basically the worst meal I've had in a long time. I wish I could give it 0 stars! I ordered Szechuan Triple which was supposed to have veggies, chicken, shrimp & beef. I was disgusted to see not only a container full of onions, but also all of the meat was coated or breaded with something. There was hardly any meat at all - onions & a few pieces of super soft/mushy green peppers. The little beef included was rubbery- basically cooked fat (so gross). There were only two shrimp in the container and a few pieces of chicken - all of which tasted like it had been previously prepared and reheated in a microwave. I spent over 15 minutes looking through the container to extract any meat included - not much at all (see pic). Just horrible! The crab cheese wontons (see pic) were horrendous w/little balls of congealed stuff in it - trash. They were rubbery and the interior was dried & clumpy. How old were these things? It also tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave. I also ordered Orange Chicken & hubby couldn't describe how bad it tasted (trashed). The white rice was also bad. This was the worst ever! Let's just say the trash can is the proper place for this meal. The owners & chefs should be ashamed of what they sold me. Disgusting and disappointed.

The woman who served us is rude. She told my daughter she can't have any more orange sauce until she finished the rest of what was there. Mind you it was only 1 dip worth. Then she gave my daughter a water filled with scum and dirt. Not just a little but it was a lot.! The man who made the sushi did not wash his hands. I'm thoroughly disgusted!!!! I showed the man who works here. He said, " Ohhh well dat how it comes out of our water". Dat how it comes..... I said well you shouldn't be serving that!!!!! He said, " Ohhh do you want another one".... Why would I want another one????? Anytime a back area is blocked off with stuff in the window so you can't see the cooking be worried........

Vegetable fried rice .. Definitely the best menu item I have tried.

This place can be hit or miss. I really wish that it was more consistently tasty and I would give it a better ranking. They have excellent vegetable fried rice but that is the only item that is consistent. Their tofu dishes tend to vary sometimes great and other times they are not edible. On my most recent order, I got the general tso's tofu. It had good flavor but a lot of the dish was limped together and had to be thrown out. I would suggest dining in or checking out your food before you leave the establishment.

I am so glad that I found my go-to neighborhood Chinese place! I've ordered here several times and each time the food is consistently delicious. Also, ordering for carry out is super fast. I am always impressed at how quickly they bring out my to go bag. I've had the chicken and broccoli and the General Tso's chicken. I haven't tried the sushi yet, but will update my review once I have. One thing to note is when you order the Dinner Combo, it clearly states you get 1 of each (in addition to soup) - egg roll, shrimp toast and crab wonton. If you ask for all crab wontons, for example, you get just 3 wontons. Not a big deal, but its good to know. :)

Despite it being busy due to it being valentines, our servers were very observant and caring! The food: don't get me started... absolute fire spot to go to if you have the munchies is all I'll say. The Peking duck wrap was phenomenal! We ordered the half duck, and it unexpectedly came with this soup. I don't know what magic powder they put in there but it tasted GREAT. It usually isn't a busy place, but I was still surprised we could get a table peak hours of Valentine's Day without a reservation. Absolutely no complaints here ;)

Excellent evening visit to Red Pepper Sichuan!…read more We had some difficult decisions at first because we flipped through the entire menu and didn't see many vegetarian/vegan options. With the help of the server, we were able to select four menu items. These ranged from excellent to very good. The star of the show was Red Pepper's Mapo Tofu. I loved the garlicky and spicy flavors. They meshed well together. I also ordered the Deep Fried Spicy Green Peppers. I was warned by the server that they were really spicy. She wasn't kidding. I'm still working on them days later because I can't eat too many at once. My wife ordered the Mixed Vegetable Dry Pot. This was very good, although there was a spice in it that I wasn't fond of. About every four bites I could taste it. She also ordered the pan fried vegetable dumplings. We loved these. Each dish cost about 15 dollars so we left with a sixtish dollar bill. But the sizes made this seem reasonable as we took some of everything as leftovers. Definitely fans of this place and we will be back.

Lao Sze Chuan is a new-ish (open since January 2025) Sichuan restaurant that took over the space Busboys and Poets used to occupy. It's a huge space, but they did a great job renovating it, and it feels light and bright and modern - very comfortable. It's huge though - so I hope people know it's there and are ordering takeout/delivery or stopping by a for a meal in person! The service was very friendly and very fast, so it's a great spot for an in-person meal, too! Their menu is as large as the restaurant space, so there's something for everyone! They definitely have a lot of Sichuan dishes, but if you're not up for Sichuan, they have some other dishes that might fit the bill: dim sum (plenty of dumplings and buns), lo mein, fried rice, Peking duck, basil eggplant, Mongolian beef, and more... On Saturday at the restaurant, my husband and I shared a pot of white tea and a few dishes: crystal shrimp dumplings; pork soup dumplings; spicy tofu skin strips (shredded tofu skin tossed with Sichuan-style chili oil, peppercorns, and spices for a bold, numbing and spicy flavor); spicy and sour fish fillets (tender fish fillets simmered in a flavorful broth with pickled mustard greens, garlic, and Sichuan spices); a side of white rice for the fish; and red bean paste pumpkin cakes for dessert. When we ordered delivery in February, we shared: vegetable steamed dumplings; Yu-Shiang Eggplant Roll (tender eggplant braised and rolled in a traditional Sichuan Yu-Shiang sauce, offering a perfect balance of sweet, sour, savory, and spicy notes); crispy salty chicken (bite-sized chicken pieces deep-fried and seasoned with basil); salt & pepper pork chops (crispy fried pork chops tossed with onions and jalapeño peppers for a bold and savory flavor); and a side of white rice). I've enjoyed everything we've eaten (although I wouldn't recommend the crispy dishes for delivery for obvious reasons - I can't resist salt & pepper pork chops sometimes even though I know it doesn't travel the best), and I love how broad the menu is. I can't wait to return to try more of their dishes!

We sat there for 15 minutes after we were finished and I finally had to get up and ask the hostess if she could ask our waitress for to go containers. As for the food it was quite good. The dumplings in spicy chili oil were very good. The shrimp fried rice was fine, nothing too special. The general tsaos chicken was good. The dry fried green beans were very good and the lemon shrimp was decent.

Although the menu has quite a few unconventional items, I was a little disappointed not to have found basics I was craving -- shrimp toast and shrimp egg rolls. The egg rolls I got were quite thin, but, much more disappointingly, not at all crispy. I ate them in the car to catch them before they got soggy, but was not successful... soft and quite forgettable. MuShu pork was good, but the 'extra pancakes' did not come with extra sauce. (The original 6 pancakes are plenty btw). The sauce (concentrated, dark, not the typical hoisin) did not go a long way and I wished I had more of it as it ran out half way through the dish. The house lo mein was ok, not quite as flavorful as I've had from other places (maybe less msg? lol). Three Cup chicken I was excited to try after seeing it in all reviews was fine, but I think I'll just get general Tso or sesame chicken next. Over all, I think I'll give it another chance -- trying various items -- but so far, I'm not impressed. The dining room looked lovely by the way, but, like I said, I got carry out so can't comment on the service.
