I've been meaning to do this for a long time probably since I became a member so here it goes. Systems Training Center has become a home away from home, It has turned into a place I go not only to better myself but share the journey with others bettering themselves. That's just the type of environment this place is, you can come meet friends and get lost in the hard work with the number of classes to choose from, that fit any type of goal. I couldn't tell you which class I like best because it really just depends on my day and what mood I'm in. Some days CrossFit is the answer, other days I need to get some stress out with any one of their martial arts classes or self defense programs. It is also very cool to know that all of the instructors have competed at the highest levels in each of their disciplines. To someone like myself that says certified which says a lot considering that experience is priceless. Forever a member at Systems Training. read more

Best Gym in the South Bay. Coaches pay close attention to detail, really helping learn techniques quickly and effectively. The coaches really care about everyone and want to help them learn martial arts. read more

My daughter attends classes here and she loves it ... the instructors are not only amazing with the kids but they show kids discipline and respect and I love that . The class is not a large class so the kids tend to adapt to the moves more. The only thing it does get hot in the section where the parents can observe but not a biggie read more

Just started here but I really like the vibe and atmosphere. I've trained at PKG in WLA, IMB in Torrance and Machado BJJ in Redondo Beach and while this place is under new ownership, it definitely stacks up to the aforementioned gyms I've trained at. The gym has all the equipment you could ever ask for; boxing ring, full cage, brand new dollamur grappling mats, every type of heavy bag, double-end bag, thai pads, kettle bells, barbells, over-sized tires, sledge hammers, battle ropes. They even sell boxing / MMA gloves, thai shorts, mouth pieces, etc. They offer No-Gi BJJ, kickboxing, boxing, MMA and they have kids classes as well. MMA is taught by Ian Harris (who developed the Fight Science System) and has a great track record of training both up and coming and veteran fighters. The other trainers are outstanding as well - no egos, personable and knowledgeable. You can check out their bios at http://systemstrainingcenter.com/instructors/. Regardless of your experience or fitness level - they'll take good care of you! read more

I started out at this gym/self defense training place and I was surprised to see how many people were there it was great, the day after I was exited to start a boxing class. It was a new experience for me and a great one, which convinced me to buy a year contract, it's been great and this is one of the best places I've ever been to. The smell is forgivable due to the fact that it's a gym it's not to smell like roses so it is fine to me. read more

Management went out of their way to make sure my cancellation problems were satisfied. Very communicative.

I started training Crossfit here about 2 months ago and have had nothing but great experiences. They offer a variety of classes there including Krav Maga, Kickboxing, BJJ, MMA, and personal training. The main reason I love this gym so much is because they have an awesome staff. Everyone here is super nice in helping you try to reach your goals (without putting pressure). I have been slowly seeing great changes in my body like weight and fat loss. They offer a free class for anyone who would like to come in and try! read more

I was always looking for the "perfect" class, and the perfect place, yes while sitting at home and watching tv. One of my best friends took some pictures while she was training and I was excited about it. After meeting Marcus and taking one class with him, I was really happy, not only for me but, for my 12 year old daughter and 13 year old son, now we are doing this as a family, I just want to say THANK YOU Karla, and Marcus !! read more

I absolutely love this place! Their classes and instructors are amazing and they really motivate you. I've been here a couple times and I've participated in several 6 week challenges which sadly, they don't do anymore. I tried a class recently to get back in to fitness but their prices are too high. They recommend coming 2-3 times a week but for the price they offer, it's pretty much a deal breaker for me. read more

STC is a great place to begin your fitness journey if you are the type of person that needs to mix up your routine. I can't stand going to a "normal" gym where I am limited to weights and treadmills. The classes here are awesome and there is a great variety. The instructors are extremely knowledgable and want to help you get into great shape. The best part is knowing this gym was started by a great fighter, Marcus Kowal! Check it out and you will realize it is by far a great membership for the price and the variety of workouts are the key to your fitness journey snd success. There truly is something for everyone! read more

This is a solid gym for beginners up to advanced level fighters. There's plenty of non-contact training as well. I recommend the Thai pad classes to work on technique, combos and some great conditioning. Ian and Pedro are great BJJ instructors as well! read more

I'm brand new to martial arts, the team at Systems has been great and the classes are very accessible while still having a lot of depth for the more advanced students and fighters. There's a huge range of classes as well as a lot of times that they offer them. The trainers are really helpful and knowledgeable and the gym is well stocked with equipment to train with as well as all the gloves and pads you could need. Highly recommended. read more

I found this place through a deal on groupon for crossfit. I was a little scared not knowing what to expect since it would be my first time doing crossfit. I finally decided to go in and found out it wasn't so bad after all. I'm currently taking crossfit classes with Marcus, the owner of the gym. He is a great guy, funny and a good motivator. He works with you on your strengths and weaknesses. I feel like this place treats you more like a family member rather than just a client. Once my groupon deal is up I plan on staying with them for crossfit and doing some of the martial arts classes such as Muay Thai, Boxing, BJJ, etc. I would highly recommend anyone looking for help with achieving their fitness goals to come and try this place out. read more

I've been a member at Systems for nearly 3 years. During that time I've taken over 300 classes - the majority of which were taught by Marcus. I feel the need to address the absolutely unwarranted attack that Amar has launched against Marcus's character. Marcus is an amazing instructor who is an absolute wealth of knowledge. He goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome and has built an incredible sense of community and family for the members. I was in class the day that Amar claims she was sexually assaulted by a CHILD. I'm a female and I have partnered with males (including the child Amar claims sexually assaulted her) many times. In a class like Krav Maga there is going to be contact. However, in my experience, everyone has always conducted themselves in an appropriate manner. There were only 4 students in class the day Amar claims she was sexually assaulted, 2 groups of 2. So, I can assure you Marcus had a close eye on the situation. For Amar to compare Marcus to the people who stood idly by while Weinstein, Cosby, and Trump sexually assaulted multiple women is completely irresponsible and does a disservice to women who have been fighting for years to have their accusations of sexual assault taken seriously. Marcus has spent his career teaching women how to defend themselves against such attacks - to claim that he would turn a blind eye to such behavior is ridiculous - if something inappropriate was going on Marcus would have put a stop to it. read more

With some encouragement from my boyfriend, I went to try the Crossfit and women's self defense class at this gym. I have to say that it is the best workout that I have ever done! I have a lingering shoulder issue and the owner Marcus, was kind enough to develop a personalized workout routine so I wouldn't aggravate the injury. Everyone from the professional fighters that train here to the newbies like me are all very nice, welcoming and I've never felt better! This is truly a great gym to have fun and get in shape. read more

I moved to California in October 2013 and found Systems Training Center on Groupon some time in late November. I started out taking Roxy's bag class and absolutely loved it. I was a member by the end of December. So it didn't take long for me to be hooked. Great place to work out. Great staff. Friendly environment and judgement free zone where you can try something new and find what works for you. They push you to work hard and train hard to get the results you desire. read more
