My husband and I are looking for a cabin for a weekend house. We want to get away from the city and…read moreand have some quiet times in the woods to explore with our toddler. I fell in love with one online and scheduled to see it. The listing agent (Connie) had her colleague show it to us. When we first pulled up we were disappointed that there wasn't much privacy and there were close neighbors on either side (both blaring music when we arrived). Not a great start, but tried to keep an open mind and looked at the inside of the house. The outside was adorable, but when looking inside, it looked far more dated than in the photos. We quickly realized that this wasn't going to be the cabin in the woods we were looking for. The realtor who showed it to us (Rebecca), was not engaging at all. She didn't ask us where we were looking, what we were looking for, how long we've been looking, or anything to indicate she would be someone we would want to work with in the future. She asked to send me more listings. Based on our interaction, I politely said no thank you, and that I look at places coming up online all the time in a few different areas so she didn't need to send me more listings. About an hour later I received a ve aggressive text message from the listing agent that she was appalled that we would waste a realtors time on a Sunday if we didn't have intentions of buying. We are interested in buying if it's the right place, but we simply didn't like the house or the realtor. I wouldn't have driven three hours out of our way with a toddler if we weren't interested. Being rude and aggressive is not the way to gain prospective clients. UPDATE: The owner of the company reached out right away to address my concerns. I was delayed in getting him the screenshots of the text exchange with the realtor. I finally did and he did very quickly take the time to provide a thoughtful response. I appreciate the customer service of the owner Geoffrey.

Despite the uncertainty of the current landscape, we were provided with frequent check-ins and guidance. Sean took the time to listen to us and to talk us through everything, and getting all our documents organized and uploaded felt pretty straightforward. Nicole and Sean were always impressively prompt in answering our questions and allaying our anxieties, and managed to get us rates that beat our local banks' by far! Our entire process was virtual, and we'd had little sense of what to expect before working with Sean. With larger institutions, I'd felt like just a number, but Sean really went above and beyond in helping us understand the process, as well as in advising us about how to proceed. Nicole and Sean definitely smoothed a complicated process, and we felt super lucky to work with them! Block has the best rates and the best service, and they really understand the NYC market.

Kevin Leibowitz at Grayton Mortgage was exceptional throughout. As first-time buyers, we came to this process with limited knowledge of how mortgages work. Kevin invested considerable time in telephone conversations where he walked us through the fundamentals -- how loan structures work, what the key figures mean, and how different decisions would affect our outcome at closing. He was never dismissive of our questions and consistently ensured we understood what we were agreeing to before moving forward. His value became most apparent on closing day itself. Kevin attended in person and conducted a line-by-line review of the final figures. He identified a duplicate charge of approximately $13,000 that had not been flagged by anyone else in the room, including our attorney. He challenged it directly, and it was removed. Without his presence and diligence that morning, we would have overpaid by a significant sum. Kevin is responsive, precise, and genuinely invested in his clients' outcomes. We would recommend him without reservation to anyone navigating a purchase in New York City.

Everything was done online along with all major paperwork which was very convenient during the pandemic. Anytime I reached out to Angela via email she had a response for me with in two hours or less. I bet I had a bunch of silly questions during the process but she answered them all. Let me back track a bit I originally started the mortgage process with someone else from a different loan company who ended up being unprofessional and just told you what you wanted to hear but produce other results. Angela was referred to me so I reached out and I commend her professionalism, she immediately got the ball rolling and started making the process happen for us. She also got us a great interest rate which is definitely a plus in today's market. At closing all paper work were completed correctly and even the people involved during closing had nothing but great things to say and how thorough she was with all paperwork. I now wonder why people say this process to be dreadful because it was quite opposite for us.

We originally discovered Todd through Yelp and decided to give him a call, he was readily available to answer all our questions and get the process started. Once all our paperwork was submitted, he was able to get our preapproval quickly, little did we know we would be on a lock down due to the pandemic shortly after. Fortunately, Todd was understanding and had patience with us during this crazy time. Once things got a little less hectic, we were able to pick back up where we left off. He took the time to explain our loan options on multiple occasions and was ALWAYS available to answer all our questions. Todd put a lot of hard work and dedication into getting us the right loan that worked for us, all while keeping our best interest in mind. He was able to provide us with an FHA option as well as a conventional. We decided on the FHA since it made more financial sense for our situation. We were made aware by our realtor that the process for an FHA loan can take longer than others, but with the dedication of Todd and his team we were cleared for our FHA purchase in only 11 days!!! The seller really wanted to close by a certain date which seemed impossible at first, but Todd pulled through and made it happen. He communicated very well with our realtor and attorney throughout the process, everyone worked great together overall as a team. Being a first time home buyer can be both stressful and scary, we had a million and one questions, we would call the office throughout the day, as the phone would ring on my end I would think to myself "they probably think we are so annoying", but once they answered the phone they were very patient and tentative and made us feel extremely comfortable no matter how many times we had to call them. In conclusion, Todd took a major weight off our shoulders by guiding us throughout this entire process. I would highly recommend Todd and his team to anyone looking for a mortgage loan. His services are outstanding, and we will forever be thankful for all their dedication to get us into our first home!!!

It is quite important to ensure you have those skills in someone when you are a first-time home buyer. You will hit the lottery if you use Bobby Papadopulos as your loan officer. There are not enough words to express the upmost gratitude and satisfaction with his services or his team. There are so many people in this industry for quick cash and possibly the wrong reasons. Bobby is the complete opposite. I was more than defeated in the home loan process. After a random yet quick search on Yelp, I found Bobby and decided to message him. I see why he has five stars. Although skeptical, because who is perfect? I have seen perfection in his abilities. Bobby allowed me to call him at 7:00 AM, through tears and disarray coming from my end, he stated, "I will help you". My situation was far from easy, he decided to still help us. Through diverse companies not explaining the process or requiring funds without explanation, Bobby held our hands throughout this entire process. From day one to closing day and beyond, Bobby does not leave you. He takes the time to explain to you what is occurring, why it is occurring and how to ensure a successful closing, organize finances and better yourself. He is extremely patient and understanding. He has worked in his personal time to guarantee deadlines would be met and satisfied. Without being local to me, he communicated with agencies near me to get the work done. Five stars does not compare to the amount that he and Contour Mortgage deserves. He has completely changed our lives for the better.
