Greg’s Pickin Parlor - Affordable Guitar Lessons - Monroe, WA

Greg’s Pickin Parlor

Dear Friends and Future Musicians!…read more Have you've always wanted to learn to play a stringed instrument - guitar, bass, banjo or ukulele and you just haven't been able to get any traction? You've tried all the usual methods - DVDs, books, online tutorials, virtual lessons... they help, but you want someone to walk you through the process. You're thinking that maybe some actual lessons could help. But you don't want just any teacher. You don't a teacher who spends your time "showing off" and then expecting you to try to catch up. You want a teacher who'll meet you exactly where you're at right now and help you progress to the place you want to be as a musician. If that sounds like the kind of person you're looking for, then it's time to check out Greg Norgaard at Greg's Pickin' Parlor for an affordable hands on personal experience! Specializing in Beginner and Intermediate levels! I've been taking private lessons from Greg for about 6 months. He's taken me so much further musically than I was ever able to on my own. And I'm thrilled that I found him! His lessons are thorough, easy to understand and affordable. I'm 41 years old and living proof that it's never too late to pursuit something you love! I highly recommend!

Gross mismanagement of the business and poor coaching have resulted in a rapid decline of this gym…read more These are the main reasons that all of the competitive gymnasts of level 4 or higher have left. That is not an exaggeration. Every single team gymnast who has been on teams for more than the past season has left. Most have either quit gymnastics entirely or are driving to other gyms 20 or more miles farther away to get better coaching and a better system for team gymnastics. This gym was previously acceptable for a local gym for recreational classes, but even those now are subpar. After staying at Sky Valley far longer than we should have, we have recently moved our daughter to another gym at the recommendation of many other ex-Sky Valley parents. The difference was somewhat shocking, with so much more positivity and progress for the gymnasts involved. The coaches at the new gym seem to genuinely care about the gymnasts and their success, unlike the last year or two at Sky Valley. We definitely should have changed gyms much sooner. I cannot speak to the quality of the ninja warrior classes at Sky Valley, as they seem fine but I have not had a child in those. We have had our daughter in gymnastics there for multiple years and can confidently say that any previous quality in the coaching and team competition that existed in the past is now gone.

Our experience at this school mirrors what others have said. Administration is more interested in…read moredefending the teacher's poor behavior than providing support to the children. Outside the box thinkers and "researchers" are targeted as problem children instead of celebrated and supported. The quality of education is lacking and has transitioned more to a daycare than a school. Class sizes for kindergarten and higher have significantly shrunk while prices have soared. Parents are more interested in perceived "status" than in their child's actual well-being and behave accordingly. Any challenges to the status quo are interpreted by the administration as direct attacks - you will be put on an implied watch list and will also be provided with a verbal reminder that there are other children on a waiting list. This waiting list appears to be in threat only as they're constantly advertising open spots and asking for referrals. There will be more days off and half days than the public school district. But don't worry! You can pay more money for extended care. My overall assessment is - if your child is compliant, you're a "go with the flow" kind of person, aren't concerned about the quality of education, and love to pretend this school is prestigious, you'll do great! Note: they've clearly started a fake reviews campaign on the Great Schools page

His method of working is very organized where you can track every type of question and identify weaknesses, which he will help you tackle one by one and you will see you score increasing in your practice tests Working with Ben in two months I was able to score 690 with a Q47 in the Real test. He was not just an hourly rate tutor he became my gmat coach, helping me with GMAT content and with concentration and relaxation techniques for the exam, and he kept motivating me to reach my target score.
