Very expensive place to dine with just ok food. The view is what you pay for, which was beautiful, but I didn't enjoy the food as much as I wanted to. It was nice to try the kangaroo though. The experience was nice, but you may be upset with the value of the food.

I understood that most of these tower, revolving restaurants are there for the view and not for the food, but even knowing that, I was severely disappointed in the quality of this buffet. The food was generally dry and overcooked, the small bowl of fruit they put out had some moldy fruit that had clearly gone bad. The general decor (walls, chairs, tables) were all very worn and used (plastic chipping off).

Well.....sometimes I believe the Yelp reviews and sometimes I don't. I should've been more observant. The view at night is quite stunning. 360 degrees of the city of Sydney sparkling is really really cool. It's kinda hard to wrap your head around at first as well, with the revolving floor and all. We even hung out at least 30 mins after dinner just to stare out the windows of was so pretty. The food....yikes. We enjoyed the roasted potatoes, the curry, the fries, the dolmades, and the trout (what was left of it). Luckily we have buffets down to a science, only taking very small portions of each item and sharing a small taste of each item. First, they try to make it visually appealing but the swarms of Asian tourists just tear things apart, literally making a mess of everything....It looked like elementary kids shoving and pushing their way through the cafeteria. One girl took the whole bowl of oysters and dumped them on her plate, spilling about a third of them all over the place. Which was fine I guess...I tasted one earlier and it was like oyster mush. The trout fillet was just measly scraps of a skeleton with a few pieces of meat that stayed that way the entire time we were up there. Second...The food itself. It is definitely over cooked, under seasoned, and everything seemed to have absorbed the taste and smell of everything else. I had a bite of some key lime tart and at first it was ok....then a lingering after taste of fish comes on. The fish and chips were soggy. The shrimp was chewy. The mussels were like rubber and had a skunky taste. I normally love cold salads but none of the options had any definitive flavor. Even the watermelon salad tasted a little sour. The desserts were shared a bite a piece among us. But that's all we had...a tiny bite. Nothing tasted fresh or light or crispy... Highly recommended for the view...it's amazing. But I feel food guilt now for wasting a meal.

With excitement we walked through the city to get to this iconic building. Once we found our way through a maze of escalators we found the ticket booth to go up to eat at one of 2 options. An Ala-cart menu restaurant or a buffet. The ala-cart menu looked confusing and expensive and the buffet menu was long and appeared to have plenty of options. So we went with the buffet even though it was $60 each for lunch. Ouch. Here the bad service began. The booth called up to arrange for a table for us. Being the only people in line we figured there would be no wait. Nope. We were told to go around the corner and sit because it was so busy they couldn't get to us now. Eventually they called us to go up. Through the metal detectors and security we went up by ourselves. When we got to the correct floor we were greeted by an empty counter. Finally a without any greeting a grumpy man came and ordered a waitress to take us to a table. Then we saw that they weren't really busy at all. Over half the table empty. When a waitress came to ask what we wanted to drink off the menu we realized drinks were not included and were expensive. $4 for a coke. $4 for refills. $10 for water. Plus an alcohol menu. The waitress wasn't to interested in serving but did make a mild attempt every so often. Long after your drink was empty. The FOOD: hmmm. Well, it was mediocre at best. I love meat but the dishes weren't too inviting. And what I did try I found it less than average. My wife who loves desert wasn't even tempted to try the desert options. Anyway we did eat and didn't leave hungry but we'd never go back there for the food. The service was a big turn off. So the only things no they had going for them was the amazing location and views. The price was way too high for a view. But if you can exploit tourist then you can probably keep the doors open.

This buffet is pretty good. The food is nice but not as good as the Star. The view is amazing though and it's so cool that it rotates.

Sure you will get unlimited champagne and on the surface the menu sounds amazing. However, after dining in better restaurants you soon realise the seafood is not the freshest. Raw oysters didn't sit on ice, mussels were dry, and sushi was just average. Salmon was good, as were the salads and other sides but who wants to fill up on that? They actually had a bao with no filling or sauce. Other dishes were a mishmash of cuisine. Did I have more than one plate? Of course! I tried a lot. Was it good enough to recommend or come back for an $80 lunch? I don't think so.

Again, a vast selection of food including hot foods - meats (roast, ribs, fish), roast/cooked vegetables, soup, pasta, rice, and cold foods - oysters, mussels, prawns, crab, salads, cold meats, sushi rolls, too much to name. And then there's the desserts - macaroons, various bite sized sweeties, slices, mousse, etc. So good and yet so bad (for the waistline)!! They offer Pre Theatre Dining (5:30-7:00pm) as well as regular lunch and dinner. The service is great and staff are very polite. I would definitely recommend particularly if you are staying at the Intercontinental Hotel.

PROBABLY THE BEST JAPANESE BBQ PLACE IVE EVER BEEN TO!…read more And yes, this deserves all caps. Located in a little alleyway in Sydney's CBD, Suminoya doesn't look like much. But you're not coming here for waterside ambience, you're coming for the food...and it delivers. First the logistics: You get 70 minutes to order, and 90 minutes to eat. I was with a party of 6 hungry people (4 adults and 2 kids), and it seemed a bit rushed. I wish we had the full 90 minutes. But we were really hungry, so we were furiously ordering. Ordering is done off of an iPad on the table. It was a slick set up, ordering was easy, and servers were fast. We all ordered the full buffet ($65 for adults); highly recommended as this includes the Kobe beef. Kobe beef was probably the most flavorful I've had anywhere. I ordered the ribs, cubes, and steak...this was like meat candy. Sushi was also of surprisingly good quality Salmon melted in your mouth and the scallops were fresh and flavorful. We ordered about 6 rounds through the 70 minute ordering period, right up until the final minute. I could have used an additional 20 min so I didn't feel rushed, but I definitely had all you could eat. Will definitely return when I go to Sydney!

How convenient. She was working a half day to spend the rest with us. It was 2pm and I was starving. She was smart in choosing this time because we noticed it was very busy during the lunch rush. It still was when we got there but a table came up quickly for 3. The restaurant is pretty stylish and modern. The open air seating is very inviting in the middle of the Financial Disctrict. Even with the slight chill air it was nice to be under the sun. Service is not that great here but I could see they were trying. Our server was pleasant making conversation with us. When she found out we were visiting it seemed like she tried to make the whole experience a little better for us by being more attentive. I did peruse the 50 page menu to see what all they had. I wanted it all. The food smelled great. The menu was so intoxicating I told my cousin to order for us. I trusted her decisions. Helps that we like the same kinds of food. 3 dishes would be enough food but my cousin ordered 5 dishes. That's a lot of food. Crispy Pork and Roast Duck combo, Fried Rice, Fried Tofu, squid and Chinese Broccoli Being a Cantonese restaurant my cousin remembered that I would order Chinese Broccoli often here in California. She decided to do the same. Nicely cooked still retaining its' color with a semi natural sweet taste and a little snap. The fried rice is fried rice. Nothing to brag about but good. The tofu was deep fried with a spicy salt. Add nori to it I don't think was necessary but it was good combination. Just didn't like adding more salt to it. The squid too was deep fried with spicy salt. Delicious. Now the pièce de résistance was definitely the pork and duck combo. We're talking lechon quality pork. Very surprising to find that here in a Chinese restaurant because that's a Filipino dish. Combine that with roast duck that was cooked well. This is not the time to talk about how unhealthy this is. Let's just enjoy it for what it is. Two good meats basking in the afternoon glistening proudly and dripping juices of sweetness. Good food with good people. Besides, I was on vacation. Another good eats in Darling Harbour. I'm beginning to think I need to move here.

The Star casino has been reviewed plenty of times and the poker room is just another part of that,…read morebut as most poker players know, the poker room is completely separate from the main gaming floor! The Star Poker Room (aka Big Game Poker) was opened in late 2009 which finally moved the few poker tables out of the hubbub of main room and up into its own large room. You'll know when you're getting nearer as the noise of vocal (read: annoying) players blends with clinking of chips to form a poker orchestra. Tables are opened (generally) depending on the demand for a particular game - $80-200 NLH ($2/$1 blinds) and $200-500 NHL (unsure of blinds - never had that much money on me!) are the most popular, and you may have to wait a while to get a seat at the $80-200 game, but they have plenty of space so if they have enough dealers, they'll try and start more games. Obviously, your playing against other players, so the casino isn't taking all your money, but to make sure that it makes a bit of cash off you, they charge $5 at the top of each hour (and if you start some point during it, they'll charge you accordingly) and they take a 10% from each hand, up to a maximum of $8 (that's the $80-200 game, not sure about others). The games themselves...all my experiences have come at the smaller $80-200 game and it can be a wildly varying experience! If you're into playing a sensible, well-thought out game of poker, then this probably isn't for you - too many players who play the smaller games, just throw many at it and don't really pay much attention to anything else, which can be a little annoying, but have a couple of drinks and get in their mindset and you should be fine! They also hold weekly tournaments as well as some bigger, international competitions, so keep an eye out on the website for those!
