My mistake for not taking my business elsewhere after being given ONE option. Well not even a week into having it I had to put my car in the shop because it had a hesitation when switching gears. During that time they replaced the whole transmission. My car stayed in the shop for about a month because Budget had bad communication with the warranty, I had to continuesly call and stay on top of them for them to do THEIR job. when we got my car back from the first shop my radio screen had been broken somehow, mind you this isn't even a week into having the car. After we got the car back the problem still persisted. So we had to have our car towed to ANOTHER shop. ( I had to MAKE budget cover the cost of the tow truck) At this point I've made about two months worth of payments on a car I've drove maybe one week. The warranty had covered the cost of those problems. But there was problems like the brakes needed to be replaced, the spark plugs were bad, the tires were bald, those are a few things that I fixed and paid for myself, because I didn't want to go through the hassle of calling the warranty and budget.. On June 26th we brought the car to the Ford Dealership for the last time to be worked on because there was three recalls and a control arm that was bad. I was promised that Jimmy Soxx would cover the cost of what the warranty didn't cover. When the Ford Dealership called for me to pick up the car Jimmy would not answer any texts nor calls, I was left hanging. I had to find a way to come up with about 300$ in order to get my car out of the shop. Jimmy didn't cover anything. After receiving my car out of the shop in June, only two of the three recalls were replaced and my car CONTINUES to have problems and my radio was never fixed. My car still sputters when I press the gas after stopping. Which is very dangerous when crossing a highway. I bought this car because my previous car was sitting, broke down in my driveway. Now, not even six months later I'm in the same predicament. Except I am now stuck making monthly payments. Jimmy still refuses to answer texts or calls to fix the car that was sold to me by his business. You're better off buying from a buy here pay here lot. I spoke with the General Manager of all Tim French stores, Brian. After Brian made "some phone calls" and repeatedly told me he was working on it. He offered to "trade the truck in for another one" at a loss to me. I was completely dumbfounded. He also articulated to me that Tim French buys "A lot of vehicles from Canada." And that "if I would have bought an extended Warranty then it wouldn't have been good anyway and he would have had to refund the money for that. Bottom line: I paid $30,000 dollars for a vehicle that I was assured had a standard manufacture warranty and it was false. I have contacted an attorney and will be making this a civil matter but I wanted anyone thinking of buying a car from Tim French to be careful and make sure you aren't getting a "Canadian vehicle" that they had purchased and brought to the U.S. If anyone has any further questions please feel free to inbox me. My husband and I fully purchased a Barcelona Red 2019 Toyota 4Runner TRD Premium (71,000 miles | VIN: JTEBU5JR5K5711735) for $30,750. It had a clean title but a past accident history. The airbag light was on when we signed, and they explicitly promised in writing to fix it before we drove it home. What I didn't know at the time is that it is completely illegal for a dealership to sell a vehicle with a nonfunctional airbag or an active warning light. When I first arrived, they tried claiming the airbag light "had just come on that morning." In my opinion, this makes no sense. We later discovered they sent it to C&C Auto Repair first, who refused to give us details due to their business relationship with the dealer. By Tuesday, they moved it to MrAirbagz in Louisville, KY, where the mechanic bravely revealed that the side curtain airbag was completely missing and required a $5,000 to $6,000 replacement system! Because the airbag was physically gone, that light would have been on the entire time the dealership had the vehicle. In our view, they had to have cleared the codes right before I arrived to temporarily hide it, and thank God the system reset and triggered the light again. When we caught on, they illegally towed our vehicle away from MrAirbagz against our explicit orders. After over a week of dealing with constant lies, dodged texts, and a complete lack of communication, we finally had enough. My husband took off work, and we drove 3 hours all the way up from Tennessee to surprise them and confront them in person since they refused to call anyone back. We brought formal legal revocation letters to reject the vehicle. The finance manager, Chris Wilkinson, was incredibly nervous and refused to let us speak to the owner, claiming "he does not talk to anyone." Chris kept leaving his office to "go call the owner" outside. Every single time he did, a man in the main office--who Chris claimed was just a "family member"--would follow Chris outside, shadow him, and constantly pace past us through the office without ever acknowledging or greeting us. After one trip, Chris returned and said the owner might tell him "F*** you" regarding our refund, to which my husband replied we would immediately get an attorney. Crucially, Chris flat out refused to tell us the physical location of the vehicle or reveal who supposedly worked on it, merely claiming it was at a shop and "fully fixed in one day." I told him flat out I didn't believe him. He sat in complete silence when I pointed out to my husband right in front of him that he was actively withholding the location of our legally owned property. After hours of us refusing to leave his office, we forced him to verbally confirm a full refund to our bank over the phone. They did overnight a cashier's check the next day. What saved us is that we never took physical possession of the vehicle. We have three kids, and this place had zero issue playing with our lives.
